The tale about Xiahou Dun is totally true. He was shot in the eye by Cao Xing (one of the generals you defeated in the level). In revenge, Dun literally cut Cao Xing in half with his sword. Rightful revenge, I would say XD

My best stratedy is simple for DW5, just free up your troops from fighting the enemy infentry. The more free allies foot soldiers the bigger the army is at the end.....it saves your ass big time on the harder levels......more ppl for the enemy to kill while you sneak around him :-P. And Hsihou tun, or Xihou Dun as on dynasty warriors, lost his eye to an arrow shot my an officer OF Lu bu, NOT Lu bu himself. Romance of the Three Kingdoms Novel tells the true story of that and more.

My main stratedgy in these games is focusing on troop morale and base control. Base control for overwhelming the enemy and morale to keep the troops strong... Don't know if that is the best method but it never failed me.

It should also be said that Dun actually ate the eye right off the arrow. One of the best badass moments of the whole book.
