the reason the slime spawned there was bcuz vechz used a map editor 2 make the whole map closer 2 bedrock which means that the y axis was probably around 8 through 18. :D

haha that lava you saw when that creeper killed you. if you hadnt been killed by tnat creeper and you both were on that road if you dug 1 block all of them woulda fell, its a sand fall trap basically.

1) Slimes are spawning because you're under Z:16 - in order to make big-scale stuff, like the epic lagwall, Vechs plays with the map depth. My guess is that he set sea level to be Z:1 (just above bedrock) rather than the normal Z:64.

2) 23:00 reminded me - your best friends on Vechs' maps are Lava and TNT. If you get an elevated position (and if not, make one via tunnelling up or building scaffold), you can use gravity to TNT-Bomb Spawners and drop lava to light/clear out areas.

You're getting Slimes in the forest because Vechs plays with the map depth - to get that massive wall and the height of some areas (as well as the descent on the minecart track), the forest floor will be just above Z:0; Bedrock. Slimes can spawn up to Z:16, sooo... =P.

Also, the top-down mob fight at 23:00-ish reminded me of something - your absolute best friends on Vechs' maps are TNT and Lava - bomb spawners and cover mobs from scaffolds, tunnels over them or whatever.
