  • Very nice, Suchandra. Thank you

  • i like u so much sister

  • i just have a curiosity.. please don't consider it to be rude or a silly remark mocking your belief.i have been to mayapur iskcon mandir and have been very surprised with the serenity, calmness everywhere, but apart from that i too have met a great many people completely devoted to lord krishna. My question is what do these people do apart from praying, like do they have a job, a career ? what do the teenagers there do next ?for their career or jobs, or you know making a future?i am just curious

  • @iampotterprince Thanks for asking!

Every kind of person can be a devotee. Some are doctors, some are in college, some are studying Krishna Consciousness in the temple. Some are homeless, and some are Millionaires! We come from all walks of life and just try to make Krishna the center of our life as much as we can. We also are always seeking Sadhu sanga to keep us inspired and help us to advance in this Krishna Consciousness!

  • @suchandradasi so mam, do these people who comes from professional fields keeps up with their job even after being a devotee? i thought worldly life and life of salvation are contradictory...also these people who studies krishna consciousness, what does they do in their later life? like with all due respect is krishna consciousness a valid university degree and does it secure a job? i am a would-be doctor and i am just curious how it works, please do not mind my ignorant questions. thanks

  • @iampotterprince Well, for an example. You are planning to become a doctor. You can offer your food to Krishna and eat only vegetarian foods. You can chant Mahamantra in your office or on the way to and from work. You can also donate fruits flowers and money to people who are serving Krsna. You can help cure devotees of Krsna. Whereas Arjuna was a Ksetriya. So he faught for Krsna. Karma yoga means you do your duties, but all as service to Krsna. You can chant the mahamantra any time.

  • Krsna Consciousness is about your consciousness. You can read one slok of Bhagavad Gita or Srimad Bhagavatam every day before you go to work. You can chant Hare Krishna in the car. You can offer your food to Krsna. It's very simple. You give to Krsna what you can give and thus make your life auspicious and successful. You can also wear tulasi at work. I see many devotees of Krsna wearing Tulasi mala and even chanting japa at work. There are no hard rules.

  • @iampotterprince I was just reading your comments.... I'm a Krishna devotee, I got to college and I work, I also got to the templo every day and chant the Maha mantra every day, I also read Bhagavad Gita every and study other books from our Spiritual Master. If you want and is what you want for life, you can just go to a temple and serve other vaisnavas, your guru all the time, but if you want to do your profesion is ok too, cause you can always offer that to Krishna, and as long as you follw

  • @iampotterprince three very important rules:

    1. Always remeber Krishna

    2. Never forget Krishna

    3. Sing maha mantra.... there is no other way :D

  • @xXxelektropunkxXx I am thankful to you all for the wonderful answers that you have provided. But does it really provide any peace or stability. I have tried following Lord Krishna, but I am not sure to what extent one must have to follow in order to attain unity with Him, it all seems just too hard. I am an atheist now, much doesn't seemed to have changed, remained as bad as before but not worse for sure :) Sorry if I have hurt any sentiments with my comment, it was completely unintentional.

  • @iampotterprince Well, actually the utimate goal of the living entity is to go back to your original duty wich is the extatic service at the lotus feet of Sri Krisha wich represented in this earth by your Guru. I'm not going to say that is easy, cause clean your mind is hard and show the natural state of your pure soul is super hard. What if you try chanting japa-mala, sing maha mantra, that is Krishna himself and is so powerful, that you will start to feel the never ending happiness.

  • Responder a este vídeo... If you want you can write to me anytime........ :) I can tell you about my journey. :D

  • @MrBurty5 Everythiing we do is by free will. Our goal is to be conscious of God so tv isn't beneficial.....we can watch it but it wont help us to remember God. It depends on the individuals desire..

  • I could never get it right. I always ended up looking as though I had been assaulted by pigeons.

  • hare krishna ! this is a great video. Ive been a devotee for about a year but ive only just started to wear tilak ( which i love ) so this was really helpfull

One problem i have though is that im left handed, so putting on tilak with ANY finger of my right hand, is really difficult for me. especially with the 4th one. I also have really small fingers so my tilak always looks really thin.

any advice for how to make a better / nicer tilak for small fingered left handed devotees ???

  • If you are left handed, simply do everything that is auspicious with that hand and reserve your right hand for washing your bottom etc. Use your left hand for eating prasadam and everything, and that way it will be your suchi (clean) hand always... Thin tilaks are nice! Everyones tilak is slightly unique!

  • Are you in India now ?I loved the video !!

  • Hare Kṛṣṇa !!! all glories to Rahdha & Krsna!!

  • Ur presentation was very informative...Ilearnt a lot of stuff I didn't know especially the meanings. Thanks a lot and Hare Krsna

  • Thank you for your comment. I will also be adding more details to this video about the meanings of the fingers and use of right hand etc. I am glad you liked this :-D Hare Krishna!

  • hare krishna!!

from argentina i only can say...wonderfull, so well explained and with such simplicity, everyone that dont know about krishna could understand it.

    Haribol!

  • Thankyou for your encouraging words...Sri Guru Gauranga Jayatah!

  • You have established an exalted level of krishna consciousness and are a model devotee.

    Blessings- 0:>

  • I am flattered :-) Thank you for your kind blessings..Jai Guru Gauranga!

  • It is very cool blog. I do similer stuf.

  • Lol, why did you remove me from your subscriber's list? You are also as twisted as Rasa and Haridham!!! I call this pure rascaldom. :D

  • I don't understand what you are talking about?

  • Sister, I was subbed to you channel. I did not unsubscribe. I see that I am not subscribed anymore. Lol, know that I was a geek in my past life so I do understand. This was kinda unexpected. Needless to say, read my other note on treatment by other devotees(?).

  • How do you get iniciated?

  • When I heard about my Gurudev, I became super excited and I studied him and read all the books of his that were in print at the time! Then I finally met him and I was so choked with tears I couldn't talk! Finally, we had a little meeting with him, in his room, and we asked him if we can be his disciples and if he could be our Gurudev. He said yes! He gave us Tulasi beads to chant on and gave is mantra initiation and new names! Then we had a little fire yagya!

  • I just posted how to put on tilak video too! Just youtube search how to put on tilak hari haribol

    ys

    ncd

  • Who can wear tilak?

  • Me!! And many others :-) When you hang out with people who do it, it is almost contagious and you just want to do it too. (of course that happens after we get initiated)

  • Ohhhh he DOES get SO SERIOUS!!!!!

  • Thats a very modern way to put tilak on mataji.

    With the spray and all.

  • Yes, this is the age of modern conveniences. Anyhow, it's illustrated here that there should be no excuse not to wear tilak, as it is very easy! (And even when we arer traveling and have no achaman cup, we can apply Tilak) Also, if you have small children who always tip the achaman cup, this is a great solution.

  • I get mine from India or when my family or friends go there, they bring it back. I think you can order tilak from the internet though.

  • Thank you for all your nice comments and encouraging words. It's very nice to meet people who are interested in the path of Krishna consciousness. We live with other devotees on the Island of Hawaii. (the Big Island)

  • Lovely job!

  • Suchandra didi, wonderful video. I have had trouble putting on tilak for years. Only a few years ago I was able to learn how to put on tilak from one of those experts you mentioned (Jahnava dasi from Badger, who sings for Gurudeva, taught me).

Your video is so sincere. I really love what you said about putting all your intentions on the floor during obeisance, and how tilak is the ground God walks on and we put it on our heads.

    Very inspiring video, thank you.

    pamho,

    Chaitanya-Shakti

  • Thank you for your encouragement. I feel just like you. This is the first time in my life that my tilak looks decent! :-D I am glad you liked this video. All glories to the foot dust of the Gopis! Radhe Radhe!

  • ur baby is very beatufull... thank u

  • Jai to Krishna's foot prints on our heads!! We belong to KRISHNA!!

  • i think this is beautifull. thank

    You

  • now am gunna listenin to it aoudio, hey thank you hari bol to you andyours too, but you can also try or wsomthing with the grey one, thats a nother kindda tilaka there is is cool very know you know.. ok, hare krsna

  • oh so sincere words, is so cool to feel i have these same thoughts and still is like i been listening to something else but i understood it all there is just as if i say, o would end up doing something like that too simply mjy own way, too.. so is the sincerity pure directly with God own that he really own to each an every heart. thing is like its true and Krsna makes it all true, a last a last..

  • I feel that hare krishna devotees are more superstitious than the remote people in india.

No offense, i am hindu myself.

  • I think that our beliefs are not unjustified. Our philosophy is scientific.

  • I just have to say, that you amaze me, how you are so persistent in doing some service for others, while taking care of your child. All glories to your service.

  • rahla53, Thank you, your words give me the strength to go on.

  • thank you, really :D HARE KRISHNA!

  • You look so sincere

  • Posting a comment like this for a religious video seems more like a joke than anything else..

  • And ya , you ppl are a reason why gurus like Prabupada had to go America to spread krsna consciousness..

  • I didn't know all these comments were on here. I deleted those with bad language in them. I thank you for defending Krishna!

  • God humbles supposed knowledgable men by bringing unexpected and unpleasant death to all. The joke is on those that laugh at their fellow travelers and fail to see the Absolute Truth with it's superficial dichotomy.

  • Cow urine is a proven antiseptic in everyway usefull for people. Cow dung also has many antiseptic qualities for the home. As a westerner I know how brainwashed we have been to "natural Technologies", but some day you'll get it and stop insulting things which you are unfamiliar with. Peace and enlightenment to you all.

  • junglegopi: thank you for defending Krishna and adding some very nice information here. I love your comments!

  • thank you.

    =]

  • Yes thank you for pointing that out. I did not finish all the tilaks on my body because I wanted it to be simple. (If I do another I will use a male for the other parts) For people who don't wear their tilak, I wanted to make it easy. I also wanted to share a little of what I know of the meaning behind the ritual. The essential meaning of wearing tilak is actually love and devotion.

  • Has your teacher taught you the sadhana of coincidence with Krsna, i.e., Jagad Deva? The orbit of our separation is our movement about the cosmic consciousness. We need to make the radius of our orbit zero.

  • My Gurudev teaches that devotional service to Krishna is the way to make our orbit zero! We are already connected but we are not in love!

Association with Krishna's dearmost devotees, is our way!

  • Is water from Ganges different that other water. If it is holy, they why have not the fishes gotten liberation. Just kidding. Superstition is so harmful to spirituality. It results in crude religion. Devotion does not go inward, but is lost in ritual.

  • Actually I have heard a story about a Goddess in heaven (who went to heaven because when she was a bird, she died and her body fell in the Ganga)

Sachi the wife of Indra was jealous of her and told her how she came there. She then left and took birth as an elephant, so that her bones would stay long in the Ganga.

  • I guess I was mistaken. If the bird went to heaven, then certainly all the fish, turtles, algae, protozoa, etc. go to heaven after one live in the Ganges.

  • Ganga devi is very merciful! But still, heaven is not real liberation because it is temporary. Sometime Gangadevi even becomes overloaded with sins because so many people come to rid themselves from sins and bathe in her. At that time, a Mahabhagavat must come and purify her!

  • Thank you! I have been wondering how I put my own tilak! If you are Saivite, how do the two Tilak's differ from Vaishnava? Is this for ritual, meditation or is appropriate to wear in public?

  • immaculateboy: Shaivati tilak is three lines going horizontally accross the forehead. It is very different and has different meanings. For some people who have professions in certain public dealings, a water tilak can be used. For me, wearing it in public is fine.

  • I learned everything I know from the senior devotees and my Spiritual Master.

  • Sorry, my words have mistake, i means this video is good for junior devtoees. I'm also is junior, more useful for me.

And thanks again u sharing this video!

  • Very useful video for senior devtoee how to put tilak!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Thank you!

  • Haribol again :D I've browsed through thousands of videos on you tube and never learnt so much as now. Please when you have time make more educational videos on Hare Krsna Stuff, maybe how to Chant, do Aarti, Gayatri, Offer, Take Prasad etc etc. Your so honest and pleasant to watch, you should make loads more vids x

  • Thanks for the encouragement. Ok I will make more!

  • Hare Krishna!

very wonderful instruction video for those needing to learn :)

btw, you are very beautiful and have beautiful hands/fingers as well :)

All glories to the Vaishnavas! :)

  • i think it is because it is holy .i have heard befor that the river was self cleaning.its amzeing

but where could i find the materials used in your video

  • I baught mine in Vrndavan, but I think you can order them online at krishna . com . They have a tilak kit in the meditation section of their store. If you google up gopichandan it pops right up on krishnaculture dot com. too. You may want to compare prices. I found some at celextel . com too :-)

  • thank you hare krsna

  • ive heard that the ganges has hepitites in it along with other diseses so how do they purify it so it can be sold.

  • I drink it by the litre straight up, but anyway....... Scientists did a study a while ago. They noticed that a certain disease was infecting some villages on the bank of the ganges. However, further down the river, everyone was perfectly healthy and disease free.

  • so does it depend on he location.if so thats great and where can i get some.lol

  • They found out that the disease free village, which was down stream, was about the same distance in time, as it took for the disease to die in the test tube. That is just one scientific view of the purity of Ganga devi. :-)

  • So they took some test tubes of Ganga jal (Ganges water) and put disease into the water. Then in another tube of ordinary water, they added the same disease. Within a short time, in the tube with the Ganga jal, the disease was dead. But in the ordinary water, the disease had grown thick.

  • makes me want to go put some tilak on :-)

  • thanks alot suchandra, it is slap to each and everyone who ignore GOD in the name of sophistication.

I ran to tears and felt ashamed of myself for not performing daily prarthana, my sincere thanks even to the lady who demostrated the method of applying tilak and the meaning behind it.

Wish you post many more videos like these

  • Thank you Suchandra dasi,

That was very beautiful, it brought a tear to my eye even though my heart is very hard.

    Hare Krishna
