@deenuray A R Rahman is not a Malayalee...He's Tamil but the fact is A R Rahman literally spend his childhood with the Malayalam film fraternity..His father was a malayalam music composer...Malayali celebrities like Yesudas, Prem Nazir were his fathers close friends....and Rahman what todays Rahman is only bcoz of none other than noted Malayalam composer M K Arjunan master, a very close friend of his father..He's the first one who really noticed his talent and bought him a new Harmonium

@deenuray After his father passed away  Arjunan master took the responsibility of looking after his family and let Rahman to play Harmonium for his orchestra..imagine a boy of just 12 yrs age playing instrument with respected and established musicians...wht impact it could've made to this young boy..he may have made a lot of mistakes assume Arjunan master had a lot of patience with him...and that definitely influenced him and forced him to take music seriously rather than just playing it out

That is true. Being Tamil isn't what makes him skilled. That he happens to be Tamil, and is proud of that, makes other Tamils proud too, and hence the show boating.
