I hope that the only reason ASHRAE pushes green design and sustainability is because the rest of the population is realizing (not necessarily for the right reasons) that we need efficiency.

You know, after listening to this video about 20 times at a recent ASHRAE recruiting event, it grew on me. There are times when I will randomly quote the song. I could do without the preaching about "global warming" and "sustainability"; 1) The environment is far less fragile than many are willing to admit 2) Global warming is based on extrapolation, which we cannot trust. As an engineer, I agree that energy efficiency is important, but perceived global warming should not be the driving reason..
