  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't American buy TWA?

  • TERRIFIC!!!!! I remeber flying with that great airline back in 1986 from JFK to Copenhagen, Denmark and back. I remember that trip like yesterday. Great song too! Thank you!!

  • Hector can be Gafe Garcia (to some) or TWTR4EVER, SoulSeacher4U, mizzfoxy9 or MusicInFlight007, to others (Like Whitney or Chaka), She's Every Woman! She's a Cross Dressing Cuban Dynamo! & We Love her!

  • follow me :)

  • Pan Am and TWA are two airlines that should never have died. so much history in both these airlines.

Thank you for uploading it was a fantastic video! thumbs up!

  • being a ST LOUIS NATIVE, I miss TWA SO MUCH. Most summers I could be found watching a cardinals game or watchin g TWA planes bringing the world to ST LOUIS. Since then St louis might as well be Tulsa, Columbus, or some other off the radar city.

  • please tell me where you got this aircraft the 744

  • please tell me where you got this aircraft

  • i dont agree with the statement that it was destroyed after 75 years by 1 greedy man. the airline was doomed already. It was for the better for AA to take TWA over.

  • @fcdrre1 You think it was for the better for AA/AMR to sell TWA employees a merger that they have from day one formulated as a "hostile takeover" were TWA crews and staff were to be systematically face out, liquidated and all for some international gateways they would never had access to on their own?

I wait patiently for the day that DL/NW & UA/CO will put them out of business!

  • @TWTR4EVER Hector, i can't believe your so bitter after all these years!, Last I heard your bar (The Cock Pit) in Miami was a going concern!, Believe me "The Stewardess" crap is not what it used to be, you were lucky to be terminated from TWA

  • If TWA was still in business, it would still be one of the best airlines of all time.

  • if TWA did not go bankrupt in 2001, it would have became one of the world's greatest and largest airlines and would have brought the A380.

  • @Marcadana All true but forget the whale plane lol it's all about the Boeing 747-8i :)

  • While AA might have somewhat screwed TWA, what would have happened if they didn't intervene? Go bankrupt due to the Icahn Karabu scheme and still have nothing left (Apparantly they were days away from filing for bankruptcy). Stupid Carl Icahn screwed everything right up at TWA. RIP.

  • I am a flight attendant, I really Feel that T.W.A. FA got screwed hard by AA. I was a flight attendant for AMR. I am happy I am not with them anymore. :)

  • @skyboi8605 really? what airline do you work for now?

  • @TheNw1218 delta

  • Great Video!!!! I Love and miss TWA, I worked there as an Aircraft Mechanic in the 1990's. Thank you very much for creating this video, it brought back many memories.

  • Thanks for the info TWTR4EVER, very interesting backgund. I'm interested in yr comment - about the Super Constellation,- "developed by Lockheed to give PAn Am a run for their money." What planes were Pan Am using? Were Lockheed blocked from selling them to Pan Am?

I heard they leaked oil all over the runways,- the RAF laid on special sand boxes to be placed under their engines when they very occasionally stopped at an RAF base.

  • @betelorg (PT-1) The Lockheed Constellation is born in 1939, pre WW2 with Howard Hughes requesting a 40 passenger pressurized cabin airliner from Lockheed for transcontinental flights (3,500m / 5,630km) her speed was 340mph/483km per hour. The intricate design was taken by Lockheed but Mr.Hughes was involved every inch of the way in the projects development! As the USA enter WW2 many were commission to the war effort before later being retrofitted into civilian commercial aviation!

  • @betelorg (PT-2) TWA's specifications regarding cabin layouts and passenger comfort were unmatched in 2/6/46 when the first TWA Constellation open the new New York to Paris route that Juan Tripp/ Pan Am together with his bought and paid for politicians managed to keep as a monopoly for years! Pan Am will get their Constellations on 6/17/47 were as a marketing strategy were put into Pan Am flight #1, (around the world route) flight they operated for nearly 40 years!

  • @betelorg (PT-3) The DC-4 that evolved into the DC-6 & DC-7 would be her competitor, never as glamorous nor revered as The Constellation. The record belongs to TWA when in 9/29/57 she flew London to San Francisco in 23hrs & 19min TWA & Trans*Brasil Ailines, two airlines that I'm proud to have call home! TW/Howard Hughes & TR/Dr. Omar Fontana even some generations apart, both pioneers in the aviation of their respective countries!

  • @betelorg Pan Am was using the Boeing B. 377 Stratocruiser, until the Douglas DC-6B came out, then they upgraded to the Douglas DC-7C Seven Seas. I believe Eastern was another customer of the Super Constellation. The Constellation was developed as the XB-30 for bombing Japan. When, Lockheed lost the bid to Boeing, the design was converted from bomber to transport, where it proved to be superior to the Douglas C-54. The originial name of the Connie was the C-69.

  • Delta almost bit the dust also until they brought in experts & saved the airline and gave it a fresh new look ! They were down to $1.78 a share in 2008 I brought 1000 shares and today ththe stock is up to $12.00 a share & rising thanks to the Northwest merger.

  • Nice one man! graet! More effects in FS ok?

  • This is a beautifully put together video with THE perfect choice of track by Arrow Smith. I guess a lot of it is simulation, I don't know? Is that really a StrataCruiser with the 3 fins? All airlines are struggling at present except for Air Lingus, who have loads of money. However, having flown with them once it was a frightful experience, particularly when the cost of flying was about 3 times the quoted seat price. I hope to never repeat it!

  • @betelorg The aircraft with the three tail rotters was the Lockheed Constellation, Super Connie as it was called, it was developed together between TWA top brass Jack Frye, Paul Richter, Walt Hamilton and the one and only Howard Hughes together with Lockheed to give PAn Am a run for their money and to prepare TWA post WW2 for its big international expansion. Still for my generation (1970's) if you aim to break into the industry TWA was the airline you aim to be your employer!

  • trans world airlines was an excellent airline

  • It's sad to think that British Airways could be in the same situation... Adieu, Hwyl Fawr, Adios, Goodbye...TWA. :(

  • @WelshSaddler British Airways is not going nowhere soon

  • Carl Icahn is a mother fucker!!!

  • You put the gear up to fast on the 747

  • this video is super gay

  • Such a beautiful video! 5*

  • the reason they canceled twa was because a flight from new york to paris exploded in the air killing 230 people. im telling the truth. research twa 800

  • queenregina1967>>> First of all TWA was not cancelled like a show or an event, TWA due to financial problems exasperated by years of management betrayal by CEO's Carl Icahn,(85/93) William R. Howard,(93/94) Jeffrey H. Erickson,(94/97) Gerald L. Gitner (97/99) William F. Compton (99/2001) and the accident of TW800 who many until today dare to differ from the government so call findings was the final blow, together with American Airlines/AMR lies of a merger for an acquisition vanish the carrier!

  • @TWTR4EVER And now it`s Northwest!

  • Research Carl Ichan.... He made the cuts that eventually bled TWA to death. TWA800 was just one of the final palpitations.

  • @queenregina1967

You're on crack. TWA was screwed over a long time before TWA 800 by a corporate raider by the name of Carl Icahn. Flight 800 didn't help matters, but it wasn't the sole reason for TWA being bought out of bankruptcy by AA. It also wasn't a merger - TWA simultaneously declared bankruptcy for the third and final time, and AA then acquired the assets in a packaged deal.

  • Darely mist airline. :(

  • Dearly missed airline, I do agree indeed!

  • yeah

  • JFK Base, L1011-500 / TW 904 JFK/Mad Layovers in Paseo de la Castellana / Castellana Hilton, favorite route!

  • TWA was the envy of the industry for decades, I always felt proud in any airport around the world, our uniforms, Ralph Lauren double breasted, class act all the way, "eat your heart out AA" you'll always be tumble weed from the Texas plain, Continental is from Texas and they got class, you don't!

  • kool my mom's boyfriend used 2 fly 767, 757-200, L1011, 717,and 747's for TWA!!!!

    now he flies for jetBlue

  • cool-my dad used to fly L-1011s and 747s as F/E, and 727s and 757/767 as F/O at TWA

He also flies for jetBlue now!!

  • SURE HE DID

  • I remeber back in the 90's, when TWA still flew 747 on their JFK-LAX route. Around 7-730 ,when I would be riding my bike in a near by park, thoseTWA 747s FROM THE BIG APPLE, would be coming into LAX, most on runway 24. TLC song Creep, reminds me of those TWA 747s because I was watch BET sometime druing the day and the song was on my mind when that flight would come in.

Thanks to my father having a friend who worked at TWA, I got to take a tour of a TWA 747, it was great! Thank You TED!

  • twa was an awesome airline.

  • Twa was such a great airline i dont dont know why that guy did it

  • May you go to hell and burn youself a million times, Carl Ichan. What a death you bought to this world, you killed the greatest airline in the world in your time, that is loved by many in the world today.

    Curse you, bitch

  • simple hes a prick, cant wait till he finds out he cant take with him

  • After TWA's demise and the awful way their staff was treated by AA I have only boarded AA once since. I had no other choice at the time. TWA was a fantastic airline and even during the rough times they really tried to keep it together and they were always professional. I did notice after ICAHN got into the picture everything started to unravel fast and once he was gone they really tried but at that point the damage was too great. It was really sad for me to see them go.

  • The airlines need better people part timers that just work there for the flight benys are wrecking the airline bizz for all of us. Bad ceo that care more about how much money they can steal for them selfs. The airlines need a better class of people it will be up to the next gen to fix the problem.

  • im really sad that i only started getting into planes a year ago. i have been on TWA once, when i was a kid. i wish i knew what type of plane it was.

    :(

twa has a soft spot in my heart because there were so many of them in my city and it was my first flight ever....

with pan am and twa gone...american airlines is the last airline of the legacy golden era...but from what i heard other people say, AA has gone down hill too. i dont know if its true or not.

  • i dont need any corrections. what i said is right. you just misread my comment and confused it with something else.

  • @julieluvpink yeah, it has, but it's not as bad as an airline like united. its not terrible, at least in my opinion, but i have heard stories that they screwed twa on purpose when the airliner was acquired

  • @TWTR4EVER Yes Hector, You Certainly were Stunning in that TWA outfit!, Did you ever Open That Puerto Rican Gay Bar you used to talk about?, Steve & Larry ended up moving in together , We still kill ourselves Laughing when we think about your Carmen Miranda, Salute to Fruit Drag Show Tribute you did @ The TWA Talent Night in Kansas!, LOL!!!!!, Hope all is well!

  • Comment removed

  • @TheReturnOfBigBear You obviously don't know TWTR4EVER and have some personal agenda as he's respected by all at TWA, yes he's Gay and so do I, your insults and fabrications denote your social background!

We know each other for over 20 years, I know his long term partner and was with him last week in L.A. while he was on a layover!

Today we both fly for new carriers and keep in touch, as many ex-TWA would testify!

You don't even know his name, Hector or Jafe?

    Who are you joker?

  • Comment removed

  • @julieluvpink they did but they recovered but AA still had problems and worked them out but they will stick around for awhile i hope but connental is close to twa travels world wide

  • @julieluvpink What about United? they are the oldest.

  • R.I.P TWA.

    Love the L1011 from TWA.

    And nice song from Aerosmith.

  • Where do you guys see a 777? I only see a 767 which made up a major part of their fleet.

  • Great video. TWA was one of my favorite airlines.

  • :)LOL

  • as a former TWA flight attendant on furlough i have moved on in careers but my heart will always be flying with TWA. those who are writing good riddens or defend what AA did to us obviously was not part of our family! it was a family too and i miss you all. the air france flight got me stirred up for flight 800 so i ckd out videos to remember my friend Dan Callas. i am now going down memory lane love and miss you all Tim "the tool man Taylo!

  • My dad is a furloughed TWA pilot. He too has moved on (JetBlue A320 F/O, recalled to AA but deferred it to wait until this economy improves), but TWA holds a special place in all of us. Best of luck to you.

  • Im so glad TWA is gone. .. Its to bad it didnt happen long before. Then maybe everyone who died on TWA 800 might still be here. That old plane should of never been in the air!!!!!

  • What good is that going to do if those old planes are still being used by Joe Doe's air ways, the plane can be as old as it ever gets as long as the maintenance are done proprely, If flight 800 hadnt crashed with TWA, it would have crashed with AA,CO UAL,Jet blue or whichever ailine would have bought it.

  • What is your back ground on aviation maintenance to determ when an airplane is too old t to fly. If the plane is too old to fly, you should blame on NTSB or FAA for giving the plane the airworthness certificate. Twa maintained the plane according to FAR, Please, learn how to accuse the proper person..

  • By the way, that AirBus that just crashed on the coast of BRazil 48 houras ago was less than 4 years old. Why dont you write congress a letter to make a petition for the plane not to fly more than 4 years?

Since you know so much about how old a plane has to be in order to be airworth..

  • TWA was one of the best airlines there ever was! As far as TWA 800 is concerned, accidents happen despite the best of intentions. The FAA/NTSB is the one that inspects and issues airworthiness certificates for each and every airliner in the sky. TWA's takeover by AA was the death knell for comfort and great customer service that used to be standard at ALL airlines. Now, we have Southworst et. al. where you're packed in like sardines & treated like cow manure.

  • TWA dont have a 777 and never will have one

  • they did

  • Howard Hughes must be spinning in his

    grave....

  • It was perfect, except the TWA 777, that they never operated nor ever will. Otherwise very good video. Love the sync. I don't want to miss a things song.

  • and also the 767 on takeoff from Los Angeles.

  • i'd have to say my fave part ofthis was at the beginning, when the 747-200 was taking off from Terminal 5 at New York-JFK.

  • very beautiful video. well made! this airline is missed. i still rmember my first flight. it was with TWA on a L-1011

  • Great song - Aerosmith - Don't want to miss a thing.

    Great film - favourited.

  • My father was chief of flight operations for many years. I miss what TWA did for my father . Carl Icahn was a monster, he destroyed one of the worlds finest airlines. Not to mention all the wonderful people whom invested their lives in TWA. God Bless

  • how do you going through the cabin

  • I miss my TWA so much! Thanks for this great video. So many memories for this Flight Attendant.

  • Props to you from UAL. TWA, one of the best airlines ever.

  • Who's the man who destroyed TWA?

  • Carl Ichan

  • That must be some flight simulator, maybe X-plane. Good use of Music for it

  • Nope he used FS9.

  • TWA had provided services around the world not just in the USA, I was 11 year-old when I had trip by TWA from Riyadh to Egypt, Just imagine what a great company it was. It provided flights between two arabic countries with competitive prices, I wish TWA return some day, I took some pictures with TWA crew. I love uuuuuuu

    Thanks for sharing

  • Fuel wasnt the issue Carl Icahan was so crooked as on the board he opened a travelagency that stipulated he could sell tickets cheaper than twa could. Ichan has a special place to go when he leaves this earth. he deieved employees sharholders, etc just like he is about to do yahoo.

  • They should have bought better fuel efficent aircraft in todays crisis and better economical management. Then they probably would have survived. My opinion.

  • Hey where'd you get the TWA Tristar, been lookin all over for one

  • warriordriver,

Aerosim has the Tristar for TWA. It's a part of Classic Liners Vol. 2. You can get it for $35.00 as a download. It's only for FS9 aka FS2004 though.

  • Actually it does work with FSX but it has a few issues. Some parts don't work well with FSX but it can be done.

  • Great video.... The song kept me from making it a favorite though. Really nice vid though.

  • should have substituted with 808 State "Lift"

  • what game?>

  • Looks likfe FS9. Microsoft Flight Simulator.

  • Just one tear..

  • EXCELLENT video! Never got to fly them but came within inches of working for them at EWR (was interviewed and tested before AA acquisition and never heard from anyone lol. Oh well). I appreciate everyone who takes the time to use their talents to memorialize commercial aviation. Always close to my heart!

  • i plan on flying these jets after i finish school.

  • You in pilot school right now?

  • no, but i will be.

  • Isn't that Los Angeles Airport at 2:59?

  • Yes it is. You see the theme builiding? Thats LAX.

  • the first airliner i've ever ridden in

from Puerto Rico to New York city

    great memories

  • AA benefited from the merge. Those JKF, LAG and Newark routs generated more bussiness to AA than what AA returned to TWA people..

So please, dont tell me AA was generous at all.

Inspite of every problem TWA had, after all it was a better deal for AA..

  • There is a little tribute in FS2004 for TWA: there is an airline called "World Travel Airlines" which means WTA, if you change the order is TWA, something like "Travel World Airlines". The white fuselage an red stripes are very similar.

  • In FS X World travel now has a two different schemes, neither of which is red..

  • where did the 747 come from

  • Twa a employees would have been honored. How do you walk through the cabin?

  • TWA destryoed itself,,,AA just saved the TWA employees, and gave the retirement. TWA would have gone under anyway, so AA really saved the day for those who had vested their entire careers there.

  • No doubt TWA distroyed itself, but please dont tell me AA saved TWA employess. The only thing AA gave TWA was Flight benefits for thos who were about to retire. The rest got fucked in the rear end..If you want to be fair, i respect you, but let us be fair all the way..

  • What an amazing video!

  • Did you know that TWA signed up for a concorde?

  • Really!?

  • And It wasn't even delivered =( but yeah they signed up for one.

  • TWA even signed up for 6 Concordes but then denied it.

  • This was a fantastic airline, before Carl Icahn. I'm waiting for his obituary. I'm with AA, and have friends that "were" with TWA. My husband (then boyfriend) was on the ramp with them in 94. I received inside info from my TWA GETAWAY rep (I was a travel agent in STL at the time), and she said, "tell him to get out NOW". He's at Southwest Airlines now, after a 40% paycut "back then". Now, we are doing great. Motto: in the airline industry, follow your gut. Priority over seniority!

  • that was so cool, especially for being computer generated.

  • hey i was wondering. i have fsx at the moment but i was thinking of downgrading to 2004 do you think thats a good idea. i can run fsx on almost full quality but the first service pack doesnt work for some reason so that means 3rd party downloads dont work. thats why im thinking of downgrading. do you think thats a good idea

  • I have FSX and FS2004, and I prefer fs2004 one because there are a lot more addons, and I have so many planes and the migration would just be so long...I have great effects and stuff in fs2004 that I can barely tell the difference between fs2004 and fsx. It's your choice.

  • you are taking this a little to seriously its just an airline any way suncountry is way better

  • This video is jaw droppingly beautiful, favourited

  • It was a great airline missed by many. Thank you AllureCisse.

Goodbye TWA, I will miss you.

  • Thank you Airbuspilot907.

    I entirely agree with you.

  • Me too.

    :(

    IO

  • I did found the aircraft of TWAs. Is in avsim. I don't remember, but someone uploaded TWA of A380. TWA lives in our hearts. We miss you TWA. T.T

  • TWA...The greatest Airline Ever! Too bad the Dumb ass greedy little f**k screwed it all up. Thanks to the flight and ground crews for many years of service. You worked for the best and it was the best because of you!

  • -turns on lighter and starts to wave it slowly-

I watch this video agian every now and then,Its so touching.I love the Livery.I wonder what it would look like on a A380..

    we will miss you TWA.

  • I never been on TWA, but still imagining what it would be like in A380 or new Boeing 787 for pacific or transatlantic routes... If TWA is alive still today, then it can be compared with KLM or Lufthansa. Who ruined that beautiful airline?! I wanted to ride TWA.. T.T

  • It was AA who purchased the airline and went on to ruin a once proud airline.

  • This is my favourite airline! In fact I'm looking forward to flying with TWA to Rome next month - Flight 800 I think.

  • Are you stupid ?

  • He is living in a fantasy world where people keep business just as a legacy and profit means nothing.

Howard cared so much about TWA that he sold it..

  • Really moving....

Who is THE MAN who destroyed the airline?

  • were did you get the eauste

  • As a TWAer, this brought tears to my eyes! Wish she was still flying too!

  • somebody copied it

    it is called "TWA Tribute"

  • The cabin shots are TWA seats but with 777 layout e.g overhead lockers.

Did TWA have 777 orders that were merged into the AA order list when they merged.

  • TWA had A330 orders, but changed to A318s after selling their A330s to Cathay Pacific. AA canceled the A318 and A330 orders before delivery. TWA was going to have the newest jet fleet.

  • screw american airlines! they show no quality whatsoever and shouldn't be the nation's flag carrier. damn it TWA should have bought THEM out!

  • Yet, TWA didn't have a sufficient amount of money to buy out AA. However, I'd much rather see TWA at O'Hare everywhere rather than American.

  • Did you know that TWA had a plan to start regular scheduled service to my hometown before they were killed? I would have loved to see them there!

  • WELL THEY DIDN'T SO GET OVER IT!

  • TWA was a great airline and it will be missed and your are all right it would look great on the A380 GoodByee TWA We'll Miss You!☺

  • waht 747 is taht?

  • i think 200 but im not positive

  • positive?

  • now im positive

    200 doesnt have winglets

    400 does

  • i know taht but whate teh hell u mean with posetive? were u from? :P

  • -turns on lighter and starts to wave it slowly-

I watch this video agian every now and then,Its so touching.I love the Livery.I wonder what it would look like on a A380..

    we will miss you TWA.

  • There is one on cardatabases modified airliners section. It looks quite nice.

  • Fly the finest...FLY TWA

Howard Hughes would have been proud to see TWA continue to fly...I'm sure he would have wanted it to last longer than 2001, but Trans World will never be forgotten. Please keep up the good work. TWA...The World's Airline!

    Thank you, Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy.

    Sorry I'm late.

    Your message encouraged me.

    Thank you.

  • The thing i loved most about TWA was they were the best flag carrier because they only had american planes all boeing with the exception of TWE

  • if TWA were still alive, what do you think the Airbus A380 would look like? i think it would look spectacular!

  • Hi

My father worked for TWA for 40 years at JFK. His 75th birthday is coming up and I would like to play this at his celebration. He was the one man who loved what he did..and did it with company pride. Any way I can get a copy? I am willing to pay any costs you may incur. Please contact me!

  • Hi

    Sorry I'm late.

Please send mail to mailbox appropriating of me on youtube.

    "write your mail address"

    Thank you.

  • My family grew up all around TWA at MKC/KCI at the TWA Overhaul Base. Talk about bringing back old memories. It could be just like yesterday, if Icahn hadn't destroyed it. Long live TWA!!!

  • I'm with you on that.

    Thank you.

  • where did you get the 747-200 in the new TWA coulors and the aircraft exaust?

  • That was a custom texture done by his friend. The aircraft itself is the POSKY 747-200. The interior I don't know but someone might have done it. Maybe his friend. The texture was never released. Maybe someday it will be.
