@SheriffTankStoner: i forgotten that heenan was around this late into '93 i thought he left the night after that year's royal rumble when ric flair lost the career match to mr perfect, resulting in the brain's infamous second shower of profanities, where he was bleeped out for over 15 seconds
Could you image if Vince kept Luger as his #1 Main-eventer. Thank God, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels (Along with others) saved the WWF/WWE during the early to mid-ninties.
i meant for around those 1993 -1995 years. they werent great for me as a young fan. alot of the old school characters left and the main events at ppvs ended up alot of the time decided by dqs or even countouts. even b4 this match actually. back as far as hogan and justice at wrestlemania 8. u want a clear winner in mainevents.
i disagree yes this wasn't that great of a ppv, but 1994 and 1995 brought some of the best wwf matches ever...bret vs diesel, bret vs owen summerslam 1994 diesel vs shawn michaels wrestlemania xi, razor ramon vs shawn michaels summerslam of wm x, lex luger vs tatanka steel cage match...superstars 1994...
Me too. My best friend, my brother, his best friend and I all went. To see it in person was a sight to behold. This was the first wrestling event I went to. I remember I was sick as a dog with a bad cold but went anyway (being a senior in High School and like wrestling in 1993/94 like my brother and our buddies did was seen as uncool). This was a great night. Now hearing the commentary on playback I'm laughing at Heenan's replies.
Little did we know then that this would be Bobby's last WWF PPV before he departed for WCW.

@domirules28 Heenan's departure in December 1993 is here on YouTube somewhere and kudos to him and Gorilla (RIP) for engineering it.

they gave him that gimmick because how can you boo the usa?
But overall he's a horrible wrestler.
supremeDestro 3 years ago 2
i see ur point he can't sell a move guess it was a case of vince liking the look rather then the wrestler
rkapeadu 3 years ago
yea thats the truth. Lex was pretty poular vince probally saw this was the guy to carry the company.

Oh man! I remember watching this live on pay-per view! These were the last of the "golden" days of the WWF. Man, I miss it.

Bobby Heenan was the last of the old guard to depart. Jimmy Hart left, Gene Okerlund left, Hulk Hogan left
