@coldironhands1 Sure there is. It's easy to push those old tube amps to get a real nice distorted tone. He probably also used an overdrive pedal or something similar though

@FullTiIt there we go then. I've heard of him using marshalls too and just leaving the twin on stage for the look, because the only ones he could get had a bad tube, or shitty blown speakers.

@dbeersmoreno it's been said a million times already, but most of the songs on this DVD were overdubbed. Just look at "All By Myself" or "So Alone" from this show and you'll see that Johnny's, uh...not well. At least it was booze this time instead of heroin. Still my favourite performances of Pipeline and In Cold Blood though. Anyone got tabs for the solo?

I agree taddeusvon Johnny was the man and never again will there be a rock n roller like Thunders. I use to slip out at night and sneak into their shows in NY when I was a kid just to watch Johnny rip it up if it wasnt for the DOLLS there would have never been Hair Band Rockers or KISS for that matter.. ROCK ON!

I would recomend the dead or alive dvd, on in cold blood johnny its really fucked up and the dvd is short if I remember its only like 29min

You better get THUNDERS,KANE AND NOLAN,YOU CAN'T PUT YOUR ARMS AROUND A MEMORY. That dvd is 90 minutes long and it's a great performance. The Dead or Alivedvd isn't that great because most of Thunders guitarplaying and singing is overdubbed in the studio. And not in a very good way, sometimes you can hear him singing while he isn't even close to a microphone, same for the guitarplaying. For some weird reason Thunders official releases aren't exactly his best performances.
