  • Finally, a video that's in MPH and not KMH. Thumbs up for this vid from me, purely because I can actually understand MPH, not these Germans with their KMH and shizzle :P.

  • how do you sync sound with a slide show?

  • OOHHHHHH LORD!

  • como puede aumentar la velocidad y las revoluciones no se mueven

  • 8 mılısanıyede vıtes atar vıskın dokulmez hızlanırken

  • Its because the multitronic gearbox calculates wich nuber of rpm that gives the best performance and grip according to the conditions of the road, weather etc.

  • I think it's the US car, European CVT ones do change rpm in S mode from 5 to 6 rpm each time they shift to make the sound more usual

  • Comment removed

  • we dont get snow :P

  • how fast is this 230hp a4? 0-62 ?

  • about 6 seconds

  • video sucks anyway thumbs down

  • hurts to be wrong doesnt it? :)

  • now i feel gayer

  • my car tops out at 140 4th does 120 5th does 140mph 3rd does 100mph

  • @integraa4 The only thing that is wrong is the crap gearbox in that car - it ruins it. They should have put the SKODA or VW DSG gearbox in it, the car would have been far quicker, and wouldn't thrash it to ruin fuel economy constantly. It's a bad choice of gearbox this CVT one as used and invented by DAF in the 1950's. That is how old the gearbox design is which is terrible!!!!

Go for something with DSG as used in VW and SKODA cars or DCT as used in Ford. Never use CVT it's rubbish.

  • its ok not much faster then 16 sec car that looks like what normal 200hp v6 does

  • its not a V6

  • yea so its the turbo but for that amount of jorsepower its about as fast as my 200hp v6 i drive

  • s stands for sport mode it makes the engine shift more agressively. it also has more engine break.

  • actually that's what "multitronic" does. s- mode isn't only found in audis that use multitronic.

  • multitronic is fancy way of saying you can manual tell the auto transmission computer to shift up or down it works like a regular auto only reg autos dont let you rev the hell out of it since shifts are preprogramed for normal driving sighs in relieaf of mechanic classes

  • no... multitronic does not have gears... a regular auto does

  • automatics have sun gear sets yes they do have a kind of gear set

  • you are wrong... multitronic changes NO gears... its CVT using a chain

  • your right i confused it with manumatic

  • My Audi A4 has a multitronic gearbox and when you floor it in "S" you can hear it changing ratios, but with yours it revs and stays constant.

  • be cause you have new's model this gearbox I think

  • the same thing happens with my A4. Can someone explain why the rpm stays constant while this is not like it in our cars? I have a 05' B7 one...

  • they have plantary gear sets i mean to change transmission ratios if they didnt you couldnt creat different gear ratios for each gear there is no gearless transmission except those new CVT transmissions

  • hahahaha, multitronic IS CVT

  • yep i just figerd that out

  • it keeps the engine spinning at optimal speed for power regardless of how fast you are travelling

  • that would be the job of the engine and transmission computer calculating shifts like it would in a sports car rather then family seden wich is going to shift lower cause your hauling kids around etc

  • i also have an a4 with "s" mode. does anyone know if "s" mode does anything besides shifting at higher revs? i can't figure it out.

  • I have a Audi A4 B5 ( quattro ) Multitronic (SIX SPEED AUTOMATIC) with "S" mode. When your in normal "D" It shifts at like 5,000 or 5,500 when your in "S" mode it shifts at 6,900 or 7,000 Redline. but my point is this.. it does shift once it redlines.

  • thats tiptronic, not multitronic... multitronic does not shift as it has no gears

  • in the S mode there is no shifting..simply more power non stop

  • no,there is no shifting! And the new Multitronics have an S mode!

  • Why do you think its fake? Have you ever heard of AUDI'S "multitronic" ? It's some kind of infinite transmissions!Just go to audi's web page and read about it!

  • its not auto its CVT the revs are supposed to stay like that

  • how can u have 230HP, some chip, and open your turbine or ?

  • its chipped

  • in the old DAF car's (made in Holland) you can do this backwards too, because of the CVT. Very funny to see that car doing 90 km/h in the wrong direction...

  • It sounds like a motorboat starting from 0 mph at full throttle!

  • the manual mode and paddle shift is gud if u like traditional shifting

  • CVT is so unreal

  • nah 1.8T

  • is this a 2.0?

  • i changed the exhaust pipes a few months ago so not anymore

  • nice but it sounds like a vacuum cleaner no offense

  • )))

  • a4 ultrasport 2003... u cant get quattro wit multitronic... the old multitronic doesnt have "S" mode

  • what year model is it?

    and is it Quattro?

as far as I remember Multitronic doesn't have "S" mode.

  • there's no gear change so no loss of acceleration

  • that was really weird!

  • ye it is

  • wtf is that a cvt

  • theres no shifting?

  • no, none at all
