It depends. In primary TKAs the surgeon will often elect to keep the PCL intact as long as it is stable. In that case the implants will look like the ones you see in this video. If the PCL is weak the surgeon typically will remove the ligament and use a posterior stabilizing device. The implants are designed to compensate for the removal of the cruciate ligaments.
thanx for the reply. One more thing: you can usually move your foot form left to right and vica verca, without moving your whole leg from the hip joint (say when you are sitting). Will this movement still be executable?

what happens to the acl and pcl??
they get cut off of course, but do you get artificial ones placed in the joint??
