@ashli674 Newborns are not stronger than older vampires, the older the vampire the more powerful he gets. And he staked Lexi for a practical reason to get the town off of his trail, he had no real reason other than fun to go after Caroline since he wasn't intending to actually kill the guy.

I think Elena did nothing wrong. I didn't take it as her trying to turn him into Stefan, just as her believing (and rightly so) that he was above this sort of thing. He's being selfish. I think Elena did come across a little pushy in this episode though.
