Steve Liesman is so off the target on the economy, he is playing the same song that the others play. Ron Paul is right on concerning the harmful effects of inflationary pressures. The problem is that most people can only base their view-point from a fiat currency mode while ignoring the fact that all fiat monetary systems eventually implode due to the fact that each and every FRN (dollar) must be borrowed into existence. That foundation of debt is not sustainable over the long-run.

Lax lending.. we did loans with 580 fico to 100%, people that had no credit history 1 day out of bankruptcy could get loans to 100% LTV. Countrywide had the best subprime, but when appreciation slowed, and the foreclosures came in, the majority of them were fico's below 680, to 100%, first time home buyers.
