Rio de Janeiro is Portuguese for River of January, which is located in Brazil. Rio= River, De= Of, Janeiro=January. It was then turned into Cwmtaff when they landed in a small village in wales, year 2020, during the drilling operation, which as GR8 stated, was basically invading the Silurian City underneath.

@kfdcl Rio De seems to translate to River (portugese i think it was) and Cwmtaff was the village that the massive drill was at and the Silurian city was underneath.
