@JustAnotherSilverFan not too sure, but you can try holding the string down right at the fret divider at a lighter pressure than you would normally hold and strum. experiment and i think you should get that sound. anyway. i like that part too.

Ummm...If I remember, maybe a week at most. But it took a bit longer to get the notes to ring out cause at the time, my technical skill was not that proficient.

I'm not that good in playing the guitar, but i suggest that you use your ring finger(correct me if i'm mistaken) as well in plucking, cause it's really useful and will make it alot easier for you to achieve the next level of playing.

Haha thanks. I've always been told I'm too hard on myself or too modest. I figure it's my own way to keep myself from being a big-headed douchebag. I'm loving the guitar, I pick up the thing and pluck every day, every spare moment I get. I don't mind the lazy english cause I tend to take shortcuts when it comes to english a lot.
