I'm prolife but I don't support totally banning abortion. I think we should treat it more like a social health isue and try to reduce abortions through family planning, targeted regulations (informed consent, counseling, waiting period, etc ), poverty reduction, adoption, etc. As Christians one thing to do is reach out to women in need and help them through things like crisis pregnancy centers. Also share the gospel and love.
Dr. Tiller bought the abortion business. The empty building was bought by Cradles of Love. Operation Rescue never bought it, their name is not on the deed at the Register of Deeds office.
Can you imagine if a trauma center doctor was murdered by people religiously compelled to oppose blood transfusions, then like minded people take over that center, all the while demonizing the murdered doctor and his life saving work? This is absurd.
GODs laws will be inforced when you die.they rule over mans laws.if you do not know jesus christ as your lord and savior, when you die you will be judged guilty by almighty GOD himself.and the price paid for sin is HELL eternity.only jesus can wipe away a mans sin.we are all sinners.and we all break the law.both mans and GODs.thank God even the deathroll in mates have another chance to be saved and to be to be judged not guilty before they are executed by man.
As a correctional officer who worked at a max prison ,all i can say is, just because mans law says something is legal so you can do it,God still has laws also .and it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God. break any laws GODs or Mans ,and there is some kind of punishment to pay. what do you think Dr Tiller?
FBI is montioring this board? Ohhh I am scared! What are they going to do, kill me like they have done to many other private citizens for no reason at all?
Gee you guys must be gloating over the killing of Dr. Tillman ..... You are like the Christian Version of the Taliban .... Congratulations ... you must be cheering.
Many of Tillers abortions are by using forceps to grasp the babys legs, turning it to breech position. The baby is then pulled out of the birth canal, leaving the head inside the canal. An incision is then made at the base of the babys skull and the brain tissue is removed, causing the skull to collapse. Then the baby is then removed and sucked down a sink. These are the true, ugly facts.
That's what we're trying to do, but people like you believe it's better to protect cows than people, & unfortunately, there are enough foil-heads who vote for people who agree with you.
Really we believe it's better to protect people than zygotes and fetuses but sure, whatever. We vote for people who think science, rationality, and women's rights are important. Continue working your voodo magic to fight the devil and those troublesome rape victims though. We'll have across the board legalization soon enough.
Discouraging women (and the men who pressure them into abortions) is a part of the total prolife movement, but it isn't enough by itself because there will always be people who put their selfish interests ahead of their children's lives. We do support adoption in many ways.
The word "person" in the vernacular applies to ALL human beings. We don't have a word in our language for a human who isn't a person.
Only the very limited, recent legal usage of that word has been changed, by fiat
Not really. Sure, cell death occured, but as far as death of a person, that doesn't happen until the fourth month when most systems are actually functioning. Unbiased research has shown that the nervous system doesn't register pain or any other real cognitive activity until about 17 weeks anyway. Research sponsored by ultra-conservative "Christian" groups say otherwise, but we know what side their bread is buttered on.
You seem to be rather confused about what a "person" is. In the vernacular, that word has historically been defined the body of any human being. In the very limited legal sense, it is a born human being. Activity in the nervous system has zero to do with it.
Uh, activity in the nervous system has very much to do with it. When brain activity ceases, it generally means your dead. Likewise, if there isn't enough nervous system activity in an embryo, it can't feel pain, have thoughts, ect.
Really though, it boils down to this: Don't like abortion? Don't have one. Instead of trying to legistlate your version of Jesus and junk science into law, try supporting adoption charities and the like for a change.
No, when a person dies, they are a "dead person". The word person is DEFINED in all dictionaries as "the body of a human being" in the vernacular sense. Nervous system activity is NOT MENTIONED in the definition of the word "person".
Not having an abortion is a good start, but it will not protect all unborn babies, will it? I encourage all measures to reduce abortion, and rule out none, inlcuding making elective abortion illegal again.
So because it doesnt hurt the child it's ok? So if i gave a one week old numming medicine and killed it (meaning it couldnt feel pain) it would be ok?
Troy is one of the hardest working, most loyal prolife activists in this country. He has kept his organization free of scandal and put the light of public awareness on the horrific "abortion mafia" in Kansas. I appreciate all that he's doing for the unborn.
He's kept his organization free of apparent scandal, I wouldn't doubt it if some gay sex scandal broke out sometime though! LOL! And I don't appreciate what he's done to suppress women's rights. "Abortion Mafia", please.
What you can imagine might happen has nothing to do with reality. Troy has a proven record of service to the cause of the unborn, for which he is greatly respected in the prolife community. Nothing that some name smearing, nameless poster on U-Tube has to say can take away from that.
Ok, if you're going to force all these unwanted preggos to come to term, then why don't you and all you little "pro-lifers" pay for the prenatal care and raise all those kids? Better yet, why don't we all give our kids an abstinence preferred birth control as back up sex ed. That would go a long way to reducing abortion. It's fine and noble that you discourage people from having an abortion, just don't outlaw it, some people don't believe the way you do.
The needs of all children should be important, not just those who are alive because of laws against abortion. And they should be important to every citizen, not just those who oppose abortion. No one gets a pass on helping needy kids because they advocate killing them before birth.
Elective abortion should be outlawed, not because of any person's individual belief system, but because it is the only intentional killing of an innocent human being that our laws permit.
Pure and simple, how about if "pro-lifers" just discourage women from getting abortions by spouting their beliefs, "pro-life" options and supporting adoption and unwed mother charities instead of wasting your resources trying to pass a holy grail law outlawing abortion? Everyone agrees killing breathing human beings is wrong. Not everyone believes that an embryo is a person with full rights. If you want to foster that misbelief on everyone else, abortion will still go on, but dangerously!
I did it again, now its under the right screen name. My cousin is a fucked up drunk who thinks blacks, gays, hispanics and asians are second class citizens. He has a 7th grade education, goes to some looney bin fundamentalist church out in the middle of nowhere and loves John Hagee and Fred Phelps. He's a stupid ass contradiction, he says he loves Jesus but then downs a case of beer and goes and rants about "nigurs". Oh, and he's against abortion, he thinks abortion doctors should be shot.
Blah, blah, blah. I have always wanted to know if these people who think it's wrong to terminate are vegetarians or do they think it is ok for animals to have their throats slit so they can eat them? Do they disagree with abortion at any stage, ie when they foetus is just a group of cells? because if they do that is pretty fucked up, animals have just as much right to life too, or are they just concerned with the 'superior race.'
Troy Newman could just as easily be one of the Toastmaster Generals, an H.R. exec in some Fortune 500 company or (as Rolling Stone magazine once said) "a breezy surfer dude" as a leading anti-abortion activist.
