I’m happy with my 94 325i, but the only performance mods are sport suspension and the Signature Motoring performance intake for about $150. Signature Motoring kit adds around 9HP on the dyno, great sound, and the best performance upgrade for the money. See my channel videos!

-Installs in maybe 30-45 min. K&N filter lasts a lifetime.
@scorpionreptyle Yes but if you take the step tronic version, in sport mode you can throw in the gear when you feel like, keep it for very long and change without decelerating, I think that woulld be an advantage.
@bewaver yes,but far as i know ,the fastest automatic gear is slower with aprox 0,5 sec than manual one. Anyway,e36 328i are quite fast,stock vs stock,e39 528i has 0% chaces to win. From start e36 jumps 3 cars ahead.

My friends got an E46 328i 5 speed sedan and I raced him in my 528i 5 speed with 3 people in the car and still beat him.

@DJJBAR1 from roll at high speed,e39 have better aerodynamics and weight help in ground sticking.
