Where are some of you getting 1998 from? It was 1997. Even if you don't have the book, its all over the internet. Not to mention all it takes is one look at his year by year results to see that 1997 puts up a big red flag: 24 matches, 0 ATP match wins, 0 titles. No other similar results like that for any other year. By 1998 he was clean and free of Brooke and building his ranking up again.
Take it from someone who has PLAYED tennis for years, and has seen quite his share of drugs. If you even TRIED to play tennis even within days of a usage of methamphetamine, your heart would probably explode. If not, the crowd noise, and tension of tens of thousands of eyes and TV cameras on you would turn you into a mentally crippled, fidgeting tweaked out mess. It was the occasional usage during '97 that killed his spirit and desire to play.
To make matters worse, from his book, it seems like Brooke didn't even give him much, if any, sex. She was out drinking with her friends. Maybe cheating on his dime. Not sure if she was into girls like so many girls are on the sly.
he wasnt on meth while playing...just when hanging out...look at how his bitch wife is just blabbing while hes trying to play...show some support goddam
@climz1989 Had it not been for Brook, Andre may well have held all the records. He made his own decisions, but damn I wish he had never got involved with her. I can only imagine the things he would have accomplished if he had met Steffi when he met Brook...
@cj397 The point I was trying to make is that Agassi's doing meth had absolutely no affect on his results, at least for making his results better. In my original statement, I was saying that meth is an "inhibitor", and not a "performance enhancer". These people saying that the meth helped his results are nuts. If he didn't do meth, he probably would have really put a beatdown on his opponents, even worse than he did. I value honesty, and think it's great he admitted it. NOT MANY WOULD.

@mousavsm No way. Pete was a better big match player and had nerves of steel. Andre was great, but definitely not as great as Sampras.

Can you imagine how badly he would have beaten Campbell if he had been sober!! Playing on meth is a total inhibitor.

Le meilleur joueur de tennis de tous les temps
Un coup droit infernal
Un revers de tonnerre
un service implaccable
Un jeu de fond de cours de Maitre
un coeur en or
Tu es le meilleur André..
