So first he goes forward 10 years to the 70's, then he goes to the distance future, then he goes back to the late cretaceous period, then to the set of CSI Miami. Also, it's more like a TARDIS, time machines can't move, only travel through time. One show strapped a propeller to the top so it won't be floating if a hill as under it and it hadn't been formed when they went back.
