  • umm... a back bridge is where you lift your legs above your head

  • Whats the song playing??

  • @LeolisMaximillio

    It's called "Universe & U"

  • good work

  • I can hold for three mins easily but can't get my nose to the floor, I've done it for ages and even done the rocking backwards and forwards. Any suggestions please?

  • @MrBoldyn

I think the trick to getting your nose down further is to lift your heels. You also want to close the distance between your head and feet as much as possible.

Maybe it's time for an updated video.

  • One should hold a back bridge during commercials.

  • Contrary to what jukcoder and MGKYA said, you don't have to be moving or be on your toes (which makes it easier). Your form was pretty solid. But remember to breathe deeply, counting your breaths which will help you make progress. If you can, try to (gradually) decrease the distance between your feet and your forehead.

I myself can hold a perfect Bridge for a whole 5 minutes with 30 breaths. But that didn't come easily, it took a while to reach that goal.

  • Thanks. Yeah, I do try to focus on my breathing but I haven't bothered counting them. And closing the head to foot distance too. I slacked off for a while but I'm back up to 3 min. again.

5 min. is pretty impressive. Great job!

  • @jukcoder HAHAHA that's so wrong!

  • @jukcoder not always. your muscle is also working against the resistance and over time it could strengthen your neck.

  • come up on you toes

  • That's awesome.

  • damn. I can only hold it on my head for like 30 seconds right now without using my arms.

  • Great! Have you noticed all the benefits Matt Furey talks about?

  • I was in the Marines and in comparison MF's exercises do a better job of making you stronger.

My core has never felt stronger and doing the back bridge has helped me recover from a minor back injury.

  • Is there no danger to the spine or neck when you do this?

  • The only danger is if you rush into or out of this position. Take your time, focus on breathing, and be aware of your form and you should be ok.

If you want to be sure check with your doctor first.

  • i ment put your hands down and then lift up. & ill put up a video when i get a camera.

  • haha...i can do that better. maybe lift your head up..

  • I look forward to seeing your video.

  • nice. i plateud at 7 minutes about a year ago and got a little caught up with work. because if this video i am planning to get started again and maybe make my own video similar to this one.

  • cool!

    I'll have to try that.

  • Im reading Combat Conditioning and I can do both the hindu exercises but this one scares mee :S

  • me too.

  • I train by resting the upper small of my head on the ground for my rear and vice versa for the front.Try it. You may feel a better effect from it. Rocking easy will intensify the exercises as well.Don't want to knock you though. Just making a recommendation.

  • that is a hell of a bridge. 3 min. is no joke! i do them too.

  • one of my coaches said to actually swing your neck back and ofrth without the arms will compress oyyur spine and paralyse you, he is an experieced wrestler, and this is wrestlers number 1 exercise

  • Look up Matt Furey.

He's the guy I learned this from.

  • ok i will, thnks - do u know anything else about compression of spine? I think that if oyuve ogt the muscles for it and youve gone through the progressions ou should b fine, but hopping into this straight away without experienceis when your muscles cant hel you and your spine takes on the pressure

  • This isn't a back bridge by definition. A back bridge should include the arms too with elbows fully locked.

I bet you couldn't hold that for three minutes even with Tunstall for company.

  • Consider this a modified version. By using your arms you're doing nothing for your neck. The version I'm doing strengthens the neck as well as elongates the spine. Let me see you do it your way for 3 minutes.

  • That's cool, bridging is a great exercise, but you can make it better. My BJJ teacher showed me to kind of swing on your head back and forth more before you lock into position, and compress the body more. He'd say that you should bring your feet and head closer. That said, keeping a bridge for 3 minutes IS impressive.

  • I'm no gymnast. I just try to stay fit. It took a lot of practice to make this video!

  • you are relly good i relly like the song you are lisaning to :)

  • cool how can you stay like that for so long dont you head get sore do you do gymnastics :)
