Prince Edward Island is the place to be...I was born and raised in Prince Edward Island now living and working in Calgary....Would rather live out there...I have told lots of my friends that want to retire in British Columbia to go to Prince Edward Island sense they have never been as far as Ontario and Now they would rather retire in Prince Edward Island....Way to support the place I was born and raised the most gorgeous place in Canada...
Prince edward island is an amazing place to be . It's so beautiful and wont let you down if anyone ever wants to visit . The weather may not be siper warm but ill tell ya . When its snowing its absolutely beautiful. Not another place like prince edward island <3 like if you support p.e.i.
@girlnamedtex101 Try to get close to Charlottetown. Otherwise it's a long drive and even longer in the winter to get near any entertainment or restaurants. It's easy to find a nice place away from the hustle and bustle of town and still be very close.
Also, don't get dirt on anything white. Unless you want it stained red,
I have lived here all my life and although I travel to many beautiful countries, none can compare, and this video exemplifies why we have such a rich experience and why I choose to live here with my family. Won't you come and visit on Prince Edward Island for just a moment in time and experience it too:)
@whatisheard i know where it is...i live by there but im saying this b/c u didnt put any pictures of the best beach in the world or the tuna capital of the world!
@12peter96 as much as I agree with you, I had no part in the making of this video lol (although I would have loved to!). It is true though, TourismPEI should have included more areas of the province in their video. It is kinda unfair that the area between Darnley and Greenwich got all the attention.
@whatisheard everytime i here something about pei it is about lobsters, beaches, and potatoes. North Lake has tuna and lobster...Basin Head is just a freaking awsome baech. There r only 7 MPA in canada and one of them is basin head
TourismPEI, WE NEED A 720p+ (HD) OPTION HERE!!! LIKE IN THE COMMERCIAL FROM ITHoTMKProductions WHICH USES THE SAME AERIAL FOOTAGE. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... I think it would be a quick and easy way to gain a few tourists this summer plus you'd make me and my family incredibly happy!!! Thanks
PEI is the most beautiful place I have ever visited. And I have been to many places. I fell in love with the land there. And the people. My mother and I used to travel to PEI from Nebraska each year for vacation. She recently died. I have som many pictures of the two of us on the shores, in the villages, eating, resting on a log, sitting on the edge of a lighthouse, on Victoria Row. We loved it there. I will continue to return without her. She will be there in spirit, though.
I was born and raised on PEI. Had to move away for work and look forward to my vacation time every summer because I get to go home and enjoy the beaches and camping at Twin Shores! Such an amazing place and I miss it dearly!
mosquitoes is never fun, but the birds like them... had a penpal from PEI for a very long time ago- remember that she told me about that they went by snowmobile- is it real winters there?
I think it's important to realize that most of what tourists see in Cavendish and the other tourist spots/parks are not the best representation of PEI. It's also important to understand that due to the climate here, we do get plenty of rain which, yes can bring Mosquitos, but also makes the countryside lush and beautiful. If people got out to the smaller less commercialized communities more I think they could gain a different perspective on the culture here. Lots to learn.
at 9:19 when the video is titled "acres and acres of potato fields", just this year: some nut built a massive and very "out of place" looking mansion on the top of the hill next to the other gray building that you see on the left of the video screen here. Sure his view from the top floor must be amazing but it is my opinion that the view for Islanders and Tourists alike has been significantly spoiled. It's quite the shame and it saddens me that someone could be so selfish...
@whatisheard Ya I think I know the one that your'e talking. God what an eyesore. Guess they wanted a slice of PEI to look just as ugly as wherever they came from.
@kaylaxxmary your right there should have been a little more of the citys or something other than the sand. funny i lived here for 31 years and i never seen that wooden walkway over the marsh before
I have lived on PEI for three years, but this gives me a different perspective. Thanks for posting this amazing video. It reminds me why me moved here!
i went here when i was 15 and i had such a great time. it was very beautiful, sunny, relaxing, breezy, it was awesome. the best part was when i was sitting on a bench by the charlottown harbor on a sunny day and i was sketching the sailboats. the food is great too. i really recomend it, i had such a nice time. we also when to the bay of fundy in new brunswick, that was cool too
This must be the wonderland in real life, a friend of mine who lives there told me that PEI makes you fell into fairy tales, this is true, i have to visit this place in august.. wahaha, looking forward to.
Yeah, the mosquitos can be a drag, but never noticed them much when i was kid, just part of the untainted land, and not all parts are bad. PEI'ers endure hard winters, so a few mosquito bites in the summer ain't that bad.
Beautiful video...nice to see PEI tourism do something like this...other than Anne Anne Anne LOL
Only comment is....would be nice to see the people, towns ...not alot of people in it.....Perhaps could have pictures of night life, entertainment ,etc
nice vid. tourismpei, is there anywhere where I can find an HD copy of this video ... or at least something with greater resolution. Thanks in advance!
@ladyjohanna123 40 years ago my wife and I landed on PEI because of car trouble on our way to Cape Breton. We left saying someday we would go back and find a place there. We did about 5 years ago, in St Peter's. So I get it.

ok well I guess I was just unlucky myself with the weather while I was there. Sorry for getting on anyone's nerves...
Not to bring PEI down again, I'm just trying to be the honest travel critic, but what would you guys say about the mosquitoes ...they've gotta be some of the worst I've encountered anywhere in Canada, and I've been coast to coast.
Sorry to hear that you experienced some bad weather during your visit. PEI usually has very nice weather, it's part of why we're a great tourism destination!
I'd like to point out that mosquitoes breed in standing water. If it did rain while you were here and there were some lingering puddles in your area, then it is possible that there was a surge in the local mosquito population. An increase in mosquitoes is common after a rainfall, and in no way unique to PEI.
@tourismpei My first summer camping on St Peter's Bay brought hoards of voracious mosquitos to my tent every night, so I got some OFF or Ben's or something. It also brought a mother fox and her 2 kits who learned quickly to like dog treats. They would come down to the shore at dusk and sit with me. The weather was grand and these were 2 of the best weeks of my life (63 years), so far.
@tourismpei To provide a reply to someone who complains about mosquitos...(while you gave the right reply). But more importantly, you raised a huge flag that says "Mosquito fairy complainy pants are not welcome on our Island."

pei has a couple nice spot, but it's always rainy or too windy to go outside, even in summer. I don't recommend it. Good thing they found a nice day to shoot this..
duke what are you smoking? I've been out to the beaches north shore countless times this past summer. One summer as a kid we visited almost every provincial park. "too windy to go outside" lol you can't be Canadian.
@dukealot2 Actually, as you said above you were probably there at an unlucky time. Normally in the summer it's nice and sunny and no wind or very little at all. I live in PEI, and if you had a bad time I recommend try going there again because our weather is usually very nice.
