After hurricane Andrew 1992 in Miami our crews worked 3 or 4 weeks straight 12 to 14 hours a day, vacations were cancelled for months.Two or three techs from other states were killed by electrocution. We had to wear vest and shock proof gloves in 90 degree weather. I lost one kidney and had a bypass from complications due to heat exhuastion and this is the best a customer advocate can do to show how lazy we are.

I don't see the issue if you have quota in place and have reached it for the day. Most techs work fast AND through their lunches so they get some time off at the end of the day. I guarantee if techs didn't work harder, they'd make it to 8 hours with no long breaks. Again I know it's wrong to sleep during the job but I get why they do it.
when I have a netork in my house already, and other people install the drop previously, it does not take more than an hour....unless you forget "lefty loosy, righty tighty" then YES, it will take more than an hour.

Me being a power lineman, he might have been on call all night working or something and then had to come in and work a regular shift, we've been made to do that. You try working 48hrs straight and see if you can stay awake and work, we sleep when we can. Appreciate videos like this.

I work for the phone company. I'ts not uncommon to work 12 -15 hour shifts. I worked a straight 72 hours during a storm one year. if your on your break, what the hell is wrong with trying to sleep for 30 min, hour.. the problem is, the dumbass who took this video and put it on youtube.. prolly on welfare. don't have a clue what a real job is.. what a idiot..

I don't see the issue if you have quota in place and have reached it for the day. Most techs work fast AND through their lunches so they get some time off at the end of the day. I guarantee if techs didn't work harder, they'd make it to 8 hours with no long breaks. Again I know it's wrong to sleep during the job but I get why they do it.

second.. his arm is up by his head, perhaps he is on the phone with dispatch, or LFACS...
third the video is only 36 seconds long, so who knows how long he actually stayed there..

Rules are such as: Two 15 minute breaks, one in am., and one at pm. Also the one hour lunch.
On the other hand, what do you think that would happen if the company always paid one to keep working through lunch and break. Who knows, there would be less people taking lunches and really advertizing their dilligence especially during this time.

Me being a power lineman, he might have been on call all night working or something and then had to come in and work a regular shift, we've been made to do that. You try working 48hrs straight and see if you can stay awake and work, we sleep when we can. Appreciate videos like this.

No Most cable companies are not union yeah the old ATT broadband cable company was union. And they make less than the cable techs that are not in a union, and have worse benefits , U might more money but U have to pay for your service and don't have as good medical Cov. My dad retired from CWA Indiana. Also Unions do not keep companies from hiring illegals the Government does that, Verizon is Union and In Fortwayne Indiana they used a contracting co. for fios whom most wrkrs didn't spk english

I often take my lunch break in my van as well as many of my fellow co-workers. There is nothing wrong with taking a nap on our lunch break, in fact it is even recommended by the company.
