In my Opinion their 2nd album "O God the Aftermath" was their heavest album and next would be the antiMother. Bless The Marytr wasnt all that heavy it was more or less just groundbrakeing album with a new sound that was before its time and set a new sanderd for bands to come. :)

I have to disagree, a lot of Bless the Martyr was pretty stock metalcore, although it had it's moments of brilliance, like :53 of "The Human Face, Divine", 3:20 of "Memphis Will be Laid to Waste" and all of "I Used to Hate Cellphones...". I think their most "sound defining" album was Redeemer.

This is without a doubt the most musically and lyrically awesome song Norma Jean has ever written. And yeah it is christian, this song is about the apocalypse and when the anti mother (aka the anti christ) dies and Christ comes, there will be peace, no suffering... Thats what I got from it at least. They seem to have a lot of apocalyptic songs, like Multitudes, Multitudes in the vallye of decision. Thats actually a chapter in the bible talking about how the world is gonna end.

I just looked into this band this week because I'm a big Deftones fan and I found out about Chino on "Surrender Your Sons". I understand the lyrics to a number of these songs and they're cleary provoked by mysogeny. It completely makes sense, I got it right away. C'mon now, you know what the deal is when you're workin' with a mysogenist like Chino. These guys are pretty good though. "Surrender Your Sons" is by far my favorite by the way.
