During the Maichew war, the second war, the same Ethiopians martched up north, while Dejazimatch Hailesellasie gugesa(grandson of Emperor Yohaness IV) of Tegray went on the Italian side without a fight. Pretty much the whole tegray submitted without much fight.

As a matter of fact, the ethiopians got occupied by the italians during 1936-1941 and that is a fact, go 2 google for more information. but however, the italians then moved from ethiopia 2 northern somalia 2 take over northern somalia(occupied by British troops). they succeeded in that offence, east africa was even known as the "the corner of Italy" but got defeated later on by Soma-British troops. and ethiopia got freed by Somalian and british troops. bye bye

What are you talking about. We defeated the Italians multiple times even before Adwa, and eventually defeated them in WWII. Yohannes was killed by a lucky shot by a sniper, not "slaughtered". Ethiopia actually was about to win the battle beforehand (it ended up being a Pyrrhic Sudanese victory). Instead of chiding Ethiopian Emperors for not holding Eritrea, why don't you question why that was? Why didn't Eritreans themselves prevent Italian expansion into their land?

Also Bahri Midri's population at that time was less than a million with a lot of nomadic population that was divided along religious lines. You obviously don't know much about Ethiopian history. Italians had very little control outside of a few major cities and major roads. Most Ethiopians live in the countryside, where the Italians had control of very few areas. The war didn't end in 1936; it just entered the Guerilla phase when the jegnoch (pictured above) fought. It was in this period that Italy sustained most of its casualties, and the jegnoch played a vital role in their defeat.
