  • to bad Cleveland Heights is such a trash dump these days like most of the clkeveland suburbs.

  • @boxer301977 Yes it is, some of it is because of the mortgage fraud two guys got tagged in Federal Court one of them from Cleveland Heights.,....

  • PS The Corvair, especially the first series coupe is one of my all time favorite cars.

"The Odd One" is featured on my blog, just word search it.

    -The KingCaster.

  • Holy shit man you're killing me.... I went to Hawken and Heights.... I moved to Cleveland Heights when I was 5, in 1970 and those were the cars of my youth.... I'vebenn planning to go back to the school to do a feature on the fabled UPSTAIRS swimming pool that finally closed a couple of years ago.... someone died in it before that :(

Anyway, I did a one-frame video "Crossing Mayfield" yesterday at KingCast65, amazing the difference in technology. I'm linking your video to it, Peace.

  • This is funny.......man as a grad of 09 i must say heigjts is not all that bad....its the students that wanna do dumb shit.....and the students that want a better future are the ones handling their life. im one of the good ones.....lol

  • yeah, I agree with most of what you said. You were a bit annoying, though, and you know it.

  • CLEEEEEOOO!!!

  • fuck you niceguy9366, heights is great school, and just because of a select few, you think the whole school has gone to waste. heights is the same as all the middle schools and elementary schools.....actually the highscoolers are more mature. you probably dont even know where heights is and went to private school

  • Wow Cleveland Hts before it was ruined by seedy elements from the west. Must had been a good place to raise a family at one time.

  • I'd just like to say that, while CHHS isn't perfect, the education is top-notch. If kids don't learn, it's because they don't want to, not because of the teachers or administration. I and my 3 sisters all graduated from Heights; the two oldest both went on to get their masters' in Education and Nursing and my 3rd was on her way to getting one in Business before she passed away in a car accident. I just graduated and will be attending Howard University on a full tuition/fees scholarship.

  • Sorry about your sister. I just kind of miss the old days when people where respectful not walking around with their pants half way down and listening to loud rap music. Its tough for a normal respectful kid these days to go to school among a bunch of thugs and punks.

  • That may be true. My only point is that, as an '09 graduate, I can attest to the fact that the troublemakers, while taking up the majority of the press, are an extreme minority on the campus. No one messes with you unless you ask for it. The fighting is invariably between one group of boneheads and another.

  • IKR?!?!?

  • The one thing I did not agree with Heights is the fact that they did not expelled some of the thugs who gave the school a bad name.

  • oh and you're pretty fucking sheltered/racist if you drive past all those kids and honestly think they are thugs. maybe if a bunch of black kids walking home from school scares you you should get out of cleveland

  • Wow things have sure changed.....drive by Heights High now and you see all the thugs firing up their blunts and raising hell on Cedar.

  • That is possibly the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. CHHS is not a high school overrun by "thugs firing up their blunts and raising hell on Cedar." The students you may be referring to are a minority of the student population at Heights today. Most students are there to learn and cause no trouble. I am appalled that the few students who do want to cause trouble have completely ruined the image of the school. As a recent grad, I stand behind Heights and defend its honor to the death.

  • CHHS is a cesspool, kids fight and cause trouble in the cafeteria, roam the halls and refuse to go to class.

  • For someone who hasn't gone to Heights in what would be something like 20+ years sure is talking a lot about something they know little about. If you haven't set foot in the school and been a student there in the last ten years, you have no room to talk about anything.

  • And I bet you never even went to Heights when you were in high school.

  • niceguy9366 you sound like one of those secretly racist old people from university heights who read the Sun Press and nod unsurprised when they print their weekly article full of misinformation about how some young african american male at CHHS allegedly brought a gun to the last basketball game

I graduated from heights 2 years ago and i loved it there. NOT ONCE did i feel unsafe or that i went to school with a bunch of "thugs."

  • PS. if you get scared every time you see a bunch of black high school kids walking home from school on cedar maybe you should get of cleveland. though heights is not compton, none of those kids are "thugs"; wannabes at best

  • When is the last time you were in the school??

  • @niceguy9366 Ha ha ha

  • So true. I graduated in 2005 and will always defend Heights. Anytime anyone tries to talk about how bad it is, I counter them so bad they're speechless. Two months ago, I was talking to a girl from HB that happens to go to the same college as one of my friends. She told me her parents sent her to HB for AP classes and a good education. When I told her I took AP and probably got a better education, she was speechless. While Heights is not perfect, it is a lot better than what people think.

  • The fellow performing the water fountain gag is Mark Hein, a member of the Class of '69 (as was I) and one of my best buddies. Great tenor voice, who should have become an opera singer but somehow fell through the cracks. He has a couple of videos on YouTube, which I'll try to find and link here.

  • My dad graduated in 69.

  • Cool video. Where did you get this footage?

  • I should add the water fountain in the science wing didn't work when I went there either.

  • Did they actually do a flag raising ceremony at Heights every morning? Too bad you can't see the mickey mouse on the clock tower. I saw a picture of it in my mom's yearbook. Good memories of Heights.

  • great stuff...who made this film..who is in it? Shaker grad here...
