Hey Everybody! I have just released my new album 'Unhinged' which is greatly inspired by Brad Fiedel's soundtrack work in the Terminator series. You can stream or download the full album for free on my youtube channel!
I think What made T2 a hit was This Terminator they said Lets just show how much crap Arnold/ The Terminator can take.
They also gave more of an attachment to John's protector something sadly they didn't do too well for Kyle Reese, where in that last scene the audience is like Awww and it really fits a moment.
You're right, Since Kyle died during that whole action theres no sad goodbye. I agreed with the relationship between John and the Terminator, As like John said the Terminator is like a father and a best friend to him. Cameron really did a good job on the transformation of the Terminator since he first met John.
I think part of the reason the first two Terminator movies were so successful was in part due to their soundtracks. As far as I know, both Terminator movies had soundtracks primarily consisting of synthesizers. If future Terminator sequels are to remain true to the series, they seriously ought to consider implementing synthesizers more frequently. Who cares if synths are outdated? Terminator was partly defined by their use.
Man, I agree 100% with you. T1 and T2 had superb sound tracks. Every action scene had a song or sound that was in complete sync with the movie. For example, when the T1000 is smashing the T800's face with the sliding door at the mill, you hear this deep boom every time his face is getting smashed. T3 did not have this, and Salvation was even worse. Salvation didn't even have the original Terminator soundtrack, instead it had some lame ass lullaby. At least T3 had the terminator theme.
@BoschVideo T3 had the Terminator theme, but T4 didn't? I think you've got it backwards. I don't ever remember hearing it, and I don't believe Brad Fiedel even worked on the film. Beltrami did, but T3 barely had a soundtrack to speak of. It was garbage. T4 actually did have the Terminator theme, so give that movie at least some credit. It didn't try and fail to be T2, and it actually took place in the future for a change. And it had Kyle Reese and a pretty good half-Terminator protagonist.
