One of the best bands out of Boston ever!! Many years ago I idolized The Swirlies and My Bloddy Valentine in highschool!! Then the gods smiled upon me and I ended up with living Anthony the drummer who replaced Ben, for the The Swirlies when I went to college!! That was one of the few amazing experiences of my life to date!! They are as amazing as thier music is!!! Totally underated!!!

Pretty much @advent of the Swirlies, my sis was in several of Damon's classes 1 semester & we started going to gigs (turned out his uncle had been our neighborhood postman growing up). The Boston music scene that came before them was pretty much unparalleled although much ignored. I think the story goes, Damon knew he had to collaborate w/Seana when he saw My Bloody Valentine in her record collection. The influence is obvious but they brought their own character & put their own stamp on music.

They were absolutely incredible live. The online recordings that are available are amazing, and a lot of the most impressive sounds were the totally loud loud clean guitar and bass parts that anchored the songs.

hmm... i was probably the biggest fanboi of them all. i saw them in charlotte (or raleigh/chapel hill?) bought a shirt, and then drove to greensboro to see them again, and wore the shirt like a dorkus at the show. didn't care though, they were that awesome. i saw them open for polvo, talk about a GREAT show!

The Swirlies were so freaking good. I remember being trashed at the Euclid Tavern in Cleveland sometime in 1993 or so falling over myself trying to explain to them how great I thought they were. LOL. What a fanboy I was.
