@TommyVercettism It's called 'You gotta have a dream' by the California Children's Chorus. I write this from memory but I think three people wrote this song.
i always loved Dom in this movie and smokey and the bandit. As i watch these outtakes, seeing Dom, i just start laughing and smiling. He makes laughter a part of you. This and "the blue's brothers" were one of the first movies i can remember ever seeing. I was 9 years old.
I read in a biography of Steve McQueen(the book Rebel) that if he had lived only a few years longer and never gotten cancer he would have been in The Cannonball Run and not Burt Reynolds.
I absolutely LOVE these outtakes. I love where Burt's telling Dean what he wants to do with the 'bleeds'. Seeing Sammy Davis Jr. light up laughing like hell is great.
@PepJord best movie ever shame that not many of them are around any more. Still a very good movie, cant make somethen like this anymore. They did real stuns in these not the fake, CGI or cars behind pulled by trucks crap.
I did a geneology search and am distant cousins with Dom Deluise. His mother and my grandmother are from the exact same part of Sicily and have the same maiden name, Falconello. When this was on HBO the first time in September '82, my girlfriend at the time just broke up with me. I needed a good laugh! This DID NOT disappoint!
Would someone by any chance tell me the name of the song that plays in the background (and starts playing as the camera pans out away from the crowd as the credits begin)?
Thanks for sharing this! Fond memories of this film. I'd love to see Farrah Fawcett talking about trees - something that i remember so strongly from when i watched this film as a girl. Any chance?
These wonderful clips are what inspired Jackie Chan to do the bloopers at the end of his films having worked on both films. Great memories here. Loved Dom and Burt so much when i was a kid watching this. And Farah?? How naturally stunning she looked when J.J said the n-n-n-n-n-n part!
The outtakes with Dom Deluise and Burt Reynolds probably single-handedly inspired All Dogs go to Heaven.... Especially the first 55 seconds of the outtakes....
Thank you Dom, you're such a great part of my childhood. And look how naturally beautiful and warm Farrah is when she laughs as Burt trips over his line at 1:47...
You can tell that the cast and crew are just having the time of there lives on this movie and its sad that many of them are no longer with us because you dont always get so many good actors all appearing in the same movie like that anymore ....credit also Hal Needham the director his vision is what makes this movie the classic that it is
This is probably the first movie that ever had the outtake real on the end credits. On an episode of "The State", they parodied this by reinacting these scenes on the end of an episodes credits...it was hilarious!
This is why I loved Dom Deluise. That trillion dollar laugh will live forever. It will bring smiles to future generations. Thank you Dom, may God bless you and keep you.
I've watched this guy since Hot stuff and then the cannonball run moies and then discovered him in the DeanMartin roats. That laugh he did was priceless. I'm sure he and Jerry Reed r having some laughs asa we speak. Thanks Dom. You will surely be missed.
These blooper credits were always my favorite part of Cannonball Run... thanks in no small part to Dom! Earth is dimmer but Heaven is brighter. Thanks for all the smiles and laughs, Brother -- your legacy lives on in our hearts and homes!
You can't think of Dom and not laugh or smile!!! He was FUNNY!!! We will always miss his talent in the future... Rest in peace, Dom... I will miss you, God Bless You!!!
I don't feel sad for him, I don't think he would of wanted that from us. He lived a full life, and he did it by enjoying what he was doing, which was making us laugh. I think that's what he would of wanted, for us to be laughing with him and not feeling sad for him.
I was going to say Rest In Peace, but knowing him, he would probably be the one disturbing the peace, making even God laugh. hehe
Im 48 and I still laugh when I see these out takes. He seemed like such a nice great happy person. Though I never met him while on this earth, some day I'll see him in heaven with our lord Jesus Christ and I'll tell him how much he made me laugh during the hards times..rest in peace brother.
Burt Reynolds' movies were the catalyst for putting the outtakes in the credits, then eventually featuring them in tapes and DVD's and shit...AWESOME.
