Amazing music... grabbed me the first time I heard.... even choreographed a dressage kur (horse riding to music) for my daughter and her horse.... they came in first :)
I can say that I have sereval times watched the film only to see the film credits to hear this fantastic music ! Serius, It's amazing, makes me fell that I am able to resolve all my problems, like the baudelaire childrens !
i love this song SO MUCH its so good it literally makes me want to cry cause when this song plays i think of all the bad things the baudlares have been through.
I remember when my birthday was just the next day, and i read from the paper that this movie is coming, i was all like "... HOLY". This song just stayed in my head for many days, and now ive finally found it! Thank you so much!
@666monsterman Nah, they should have their house burned down, sent to an evil uncle, have to do various chores, get almost run over by a train, get sent to their reptile loving uncle, have him killed, be sent to their paranoid mentally ill aunt, try to survive a hurracane, almost fall off the edge of a house, find out your aunt commited suicide, almost get eaten by leaches, go back to their evil uncle, get forced into marriage, be saved...and THEN get eaten by the lachrymos leeches
i thought of this theme tune as i was writing my english writing exam about a young girl in a library looking at this ancient book - when she finally opened it the book only had 1 page written on it. Its not the story, the writer nor the reader themselves but the imagination held within the reader creates the story. Hope i get a good grade hehe
love the song and the movie. i saw the novie years ago and just finished the 10th book out of 12. oh my gosh the movie explains NOTHING of what those children have dealt w. all the things they used were in the books and i still love the movie but i just cant be done. iys like trying to make one harry potter movie to explain all the book. cant be done. i highly reccomend the series but anuway love the song
I listen to this and my imagination unravels. I somehow can see a new dimension with luscious trees and vines and a sky torn with day and night, as well as the inner workings of an abstract observatory.
When I listen to this music I picture a tall mysterious man with a dark suit and a hat smoking in the train, staring through the window at an untamed wilderness rushing by, somewhere at the beginning of the 20th century. Then a bewildered man with deep sorrow in his eyes calmly enters his compartment and they stare at each other for a moment. The stranger draws a small, black gun and shoots the passenger in the face.
I try to think of this as my theme song, whenever I get creative, and wrap my hair in a bow to help me invent something to get out of a life threatening scenario. :)
I agree with you this song I like very much but I do not know if it can be called composition more closely related tones. Anyway, over this song would think. of this piece we thought.
Can you imagine the composition of this one a lot of things. Or just one. Drive Away ...
...Polka???? Please let there be the polka part!!!! Oh and FYI the other part sounds epic too... I just haven't heard the polka part in a long ass time!!!!
oh wow... the bass, chimes, synths, guitar... the samples that help distort the song and surprise the listener.... amazing. I love the soundtrack for this film. Thanks Thomas Newman you absolute legend.
@ReklawRemix i agree, but i doubt it'd ever happen, hes too close & committed to his musician Danny Elfman, he rlly needs to change the way he makes movies, they become too redundant...
This has always been playing in the back of my head sort of unconciously since I saw the movie, and I just remembered it a few weeks ago. I'm so glad I did!
i love it how they invented a whole new intstrument to make this song! (in case u didnt know that its true), im gonna search what it is and learn how to play it
Who would NOT like this song? It gives me the chills, and it fits in very well with death note, my favorite show. This song is truly a favorite! It rocks!
(Just found out what Steampunk meant the other day, and when listening to this song, it popped into my head that this is exactly what 'Steampunk' sounds like in my head.)
@Light197 It sounds to me like Newman probably drew a bit from the Exorcist theme for this song. They're very different but the mood is highly similar.
@JustAnotherSonicFan I was thinking the same but it's pretty late now since violet will be already an adult now and at the movie they showed things from only the first 3 books while there are 10 more :P By the way, this song touches perfection.
