Don't get out much do ya. 12s are easy for a lightly modded supra and a good launch.

Remember that this an engine that can make in excess of 500hp on stock internals and do it reliably if tuned properly.

My engine builder has a supra (personal daily driver) that is reputed to make aprrox 1000-1200hp and has definately made 1400hp on race fuel and high boost at the auto salon dyno shoot out. His drag engine makes well over 2000hp and runs about a mid to high 6sec 1/4.

If you cant put the power down to the ground (in a tuned car) then one should look at a bit of suspension setup and maybe a staggard boost delivery or maybe just a bit of throttle control would help.

Have a look at "1268 HP Toyota Supra!!!". This thing doesn't look like it has to much trouble putting the power down.

As I said, it appears you don't get out much. I know 3 supra owners (all are 3L manuals, 2 are full weight, one is stripped to 1281kg) the full weight ones have just under and just over 500rwhp, and the stripped one has just over 600rwhp.

ALL of them run low 12s, the heavy ones do it at ~120mph and the light one does it at 136, just like all the other supras...

The thing that fascinates people about imports is running 1/2 the cylinders and 1/4 the displacement we can still build a street car that will destroy any v-8 short of a $100,000 purpose built drag beast that's smog exempt so it happens to be street legal with a 634 Schafferhoff or the likes, all while spending well under $20,000 including the price of the car. As for an h pattern manual passing for almost semi-auto, roll up your windows and stop sucking on your v-8 fumes dude. :)
