Thank the Lord I moved the hell away from there!!! I wish I could have raised my kids somewhere else. Chilhowie is NOT a good place to raise kids and I pray that my grown kids will finally decide to leave there before my grandkids are influanced by the corruption. I lived there for over 15 years and have talked to many people that have lived there their whole lives and say the town is turning into a crap hole.

thank you it pleases me to see what has happened there i did live there till oct. last year and the only thing i can say is the whole Smyth County police dept town and county needs to be investigated for drug usage and sex offenses citizens cant get away with it so why can the law enforcement do it they can because they have some kind of protection i dont know how high the protection goes but it must be up there i hope they all get their lives flushed just as they flush others lives

i retract my earlier statement about "minus the cussing" you really know what you are talking about when it comes to this hypacritical town, i believe the requirements for a police officer there is a 3rd grade education, or at least know where the only red light is located at, once again, i hate you had that experience, if you would have been thru san antonio i would have pleaded with you to park your horse & bus at our house, Be safe my friend..
Chilhowie is not the only place that treat outsiders bad. I got arrested for going to a Police station in Saltville, Va. for concern for my son. This is Smyth County. You have no civil rights or no Freedom of Speech. My case was dismissed, But they did violate my Civil Rights and got by with it and like you. I will never be back in this town again. They all know to much on each other for a change.
I don't blame you for not wanting to come back to our town. I'm proud of my town but the people in it is a different story. Sure there are a few good people here but the others who can't get out, get an education have nothing else to do but degrade people who they don't even know personally. Half the people here have no life and think that they're on top of the world. It's all about who you are in this town and if you don't have the last name then you're a piece of shit.

All the emails I get from the fine people of Chilhowie about how the elite are running the place, sounds like its just fine for a select few. Just like owning a business.

You pretty much nailed it, as far as the "upper-class" Chilhowian goes. However, the rest of us are pretty good people. I know that if me or any of my friends had known you were coming, we'd have put you up, no problem! So this guy tells me the City of Marion had a busted sewer line. They wanted their regular contractor to come up and fix it. He was down in Chilhowie. Would have done it, but Bill Boswell said if he pulled of the Chilhowie job just for a day or two, he'd pull the whole contract.
Turning? It's already arrived at that destination.
