i just watched this... and im disappointed. its lesser dramatic, some event changes. Dante changes too much (not the animation, but his hair,face,build clothes, armor etc.)

i recommend playing the game instead.

I enjoyed the film and the game (although the game has a stronger plot; it's clear the film was watered down to avoid spoiling the game) but I didn't like the change in the animation. The first two artists were the best and then it became too anime.

(I like anime, but these specific styles really took away from the nature of the story).

i started to read this book, but it took for fucking ever to read( and i was reading the translated old-modern english version)! i renewed it from the library like, 3 times and then they told me i had had to give it back because we're not allowed to check out a book for that long. and i didn't even get through the 5th ring yet!!!! i was very mad to say the least. and i doubt the movie follows the actual story very closely. does it? i just found out about this movie now.

ok overall i loved the movie. mainly because i liked 4 out of the 6 animations. but am i the only one who noticed that they used the worst one for the last part? seriously while dante is in trechary he has a freaking tiny head and a massive body! if things were to scale it might have even been the best, but they screwed it up. i would give it 7/10. but the game gets 10/10!

I'm torn about this. On a side it looks trully epic and captures the despair and hopelessness in the game, but on the other side it looks like the story won't be too deep and it will heavily focus on visuals.

It could have been better to stick with one director and style of animation for the whole movie

Regardless of whether this movie is good or not, I think it's cool that someone's finally discovered the fanboy potential of the Divine Comedy. It's one of my favourite books ever, and I've always wondered why no-one's made a video game or a huge movie out of it (yes, I know it's been filmed, but there's never been a huge Hollywood spectacle version of it). Maybe the video game will change things.
