  • Juan David... was to by my son

  • Ah adoption agencies/attorneys still corrupt and going strong. Bless you who are wanting to adopt these babies, for I was one of the lucky ones raised by loving parents. I am 47 and still have no rights according to my agency, it is not enough to know just what state/country you are from, there is more. I still no say in what everyone decided was best, which honestly was, my 1st mom was only 15. But we are both adults now, let us decide. Love your children and never doubt their love for you.

  • ...Eighteen other mothers could not be found under the identities that case files provided, prosecutors said.

  • ...The attorneys have been charged with fraud and human trafficking: The probe of Casa Quivira — where 46 children in the process of being adopted by U.S. families were seized in a government raid last August — turned up a slew of irregularities, including at least five cases in which birth mothers were allegedly given false identities to avoid having to seek permission from family members and a judge to give up their babies...

  • From boingboing dot net:

The Guatemalan government seems eager to make a punitive example out of one high-profile adoption agency in particular -- Casa Quivira. The country's biggest baby-bust yet broke this week, and involves two attorneys who represented that agency, which was once considered the most "legit" in the country...

  • I hope the Guatemalan government officials come to their senses and quickly resolve this terrible matter. Henry F, Indianapolis

  • I hope, as you appear to be a person who is close to this issue, that you will believe what I say to be true (you are right...the babies AND the people of Guatemala deserve the truth). I hope you will let others know that the future of Guatemala lies in the hands of these children and these children will always know where they came from. In the future, I believe many of them will want to go back to their birthplace and help to make it the beautiful country it deserves to be.

  • These babies are the responsibility of ALL of us until they find their forever family. It is the responsibility of ALL of us to make sure they are loved and protected...the only voice they have is ours.

  • I see you post from Guatemala and may or may not have seen news coverage that allows you question what I know to be true about Casa Quivira. My husband and I have adopted from Casa Quivira and know hundreds of other adoptive parents who will defend Casa Quivira. They know how important it is to have infants protected in every way. Sadly in Guatemala, that is not always the way homes for children are managed.

  • While the babies living at Casa Quivira were assigned to families before the raid, the express purpose of the video is to encourage the Guatemalan government to order these babies back to Casa Quivira and allow them to care for the babies in a way that is safe, nurturing and loving. All of the adoptive parents were invited to provide a statement and photos, but for reasons of length of the video we had to chose only a few.

  • Maybe the UN should get involved and pressure the Guatemalan Government to bring there adoption laws up to date with the 21st century. They should also start being required to catch the actual thieves.

If nothing is found at Casa Quivera to be wrong or illegal, then the Guatemalan Government should be sued for conducting a raid without proper evidence to support it

  • The Guatemalan adoption process is the one to blame. Casa Quivira doesn't create the Guatemalan adoption laws. The Guatemalan adoption laws make it easy for bribes, coercion, thefts and payoffs.

It's time for the Guatemalan government to repair their own laws on adoption. It's not like they don't have examples of other successful countries and their adoption laws to model after.

  • The Guatemalan Government is putting on a political show to make it look like they are doing something about the problem.

They are obviously not sophisticated enough to do a real investigation. They take the most successful adoption agency, who follows government process and they are going to make an example of them so they can say, see we are the Government and we are raiding places and doing things.

  • The whole point of the Guatemalan Governments seizure is to find stolen babies, yet they found none at Casa Quivira. Why, because people who traffic stolen babies don't set up shop and advertise their location. They don't create a website ad advertise who they are. They don't go thru the governmental process and have legitimate paerwork.

People who steal babies are not following the "Govermental" process, not Casa Quiveras process.

  • As a mother to a Guatemalan princess I am praying for these children and their parents. They must return these children.

  • I am a child from this program and am no different than these children and feel so bad for them the only difference is the time and I am ten now..........

  • Great job personalizing this. We are talking about real children here with waiting families. Thanks for letting us see them!

  • My thoughts and prayers are with all the parents and children going through this....

  • Such a sad situation! Please help these babies come home by making that call. From a mommy through Casa Quivira
