I understand all Joe. I understand how you are ignorant and your ego is your ONLY driving force in life. I understand your mind and how it works. I once thought like you when I was a teenager. I matured. I studied. Now, here you are wasting my time with your ignorance. Is that like a victory for you. To bring people down to that base level of stupidity? Joe, you will grow up and see that the things you believe are not true. In 5 years or so, when you experience more of life, you will realize...
yes, of course, it is a good strategy. But what ppl are trying to say to you on here is that Ali needed more than his boxing prowess to bring down the big man. He played mind games while in Africa. Dig it? You're missing that whole point and just yelling out STYLE!!!! George wouldn't fall for the Ali strategy and the fight would be in USA. Ignorance may be bliss, but your missing out on something better, joe. No rematch?? lol The ex champ gets no rematch? How peculiar if Ali wasn't worried.
Well, the rematch debate can go on and on. More complex than what many believe/ Back to the fight -- Ali's style would not have worked like you thought on a more mentally stable Foreman. Therefore, he weakened the mighty George before the fight. Proving to people everywhere that there is more than what meets the eye. More than what you believe.
Foreman was invincible at the time. He got into his head--George started believing Ali could beat him by the time the bell rang. Just part of Ali's greatness. More than just a boxer.
@chaseman12 monstrous type fighters, whose style is based soley on power and brute force, were tailor made for Ali,because his style was "scientific"!!its actually very simple, styles make fights.Thats why he was never worried about these power guys!
@onlyjoetee no, you are so wrong. Ali was afraid of Foreman--they all were. Foreman was the force at that time. Ali needed a strategy outside the ring as well. You wrote He was never worried about power guys. Who can ever say something like that? Pro boxers would never think that way. Lot more going on in boxing than style in the ring. Watch 'When We Were Kings'...and you'll stop speaking from the hip.
@chaseman12 how the hell would Ali be worried about someone who's entire style is based only on power?who has no stamina?who gases after 2 rounds?who swings wide arm punches like a woman?who has no footwork ,who is only effective against a stationary target? If Muhammed Ali was afraid of these, he would never even have turned Pro in the first place.you said "they" were afraid of Foreman,That is precisely what set Ali apart,he didnt think like "they" did!!EVER!!he was born for those type fighters!
@onlyjoetee like I said, watch "When We Were Kings." Your opinion is just pride, it's not fact. Yes, Ali was afraid. Foreman gassing out? He didn't need to go past the 5th in most fights bc he knocked them out early. He was in better physical condition than Ali before the fight. He was the ultimate power puncher. He was the King and this was the biggest upset ever at the time.Tyson/Douglas took that title. I admire your love for Ali, he was my favourite 2,but you are so wrong. End. Ali Ali Ali
@chaseman12 every performer gets nervous before a show,im a musician,i know about that.Foreman always had stamina problems, that is precicely why the rope a dope was so perfect on him.A power puncher with no stamina?in the era of 15 rnd bouts?LOL his punches come so wide you could see them a day in advance, and if it misses,3 rnd worth of energy leaves his body LOL poor George,he didnt even learn to box or smile till Ali KOd him hahaha brute force vs science and psychology? LOL styles make fights!
@onlyjoetee Yes! You said it--psychology. Ali got into the bully's head. Outside the ring and then inside. Nothing to do with style outside. Verbal warfare to take the big, bad bully off his game. And, of course, great boxing in the ring. It's a combination. For Ali to beat big Geo, he had to battle his mind before the bout. That's the 'greatness' of Ali--not just floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee--but his mind. Also, LOL's after your sentences makes you look weak.
@chaseman12 styles make fights. Its easy for an Ali to beat a foreman.George cant handle guys who move, thats why jimmy young beat him, thats why he ducked Larry Holmes,he's only good with a stationary target.Ali could even have beaten him without the rope a dope. And i am very very far from weak, mentally physically or spiritually LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
@onlyjoetee you write drivel. So showing your true colours. Who said anything about you being weak physically and spiritually? Did I hit a nerve, and now you have to pump your chest out? Tell us all about the hot chicks you get ,too. You are dismissed. Run along and argue someone else and state no facts in the process --I've seen your other posts. Weak. I still laugh about your line about you being musician. Comparing yourself to a pro boxer. You are funny! Good luck out there, Skip. *Poof*
@onlyjoetee You're speculating, and thinking about the match on paper. Foreman had more going on than just big punches. He was a force w/ a confidence and focus so fierce. Ali needed to mess with GF's mind before the fight. The African's were chanting the equivalent of "Ali, kill him." George was a mental wreck over there and it depleted him physically. And if Ali had no worries, then why did he refuse a rematch? George was disrespected by that country. It overwhelmed him. But no rematch?
@Thedudeherenow a rematch was based on george beating jimmy young in venezuela, but he lost!force is nothing when it meets science.styles make fights. The Ali principle is simply THE BEST way to box.come in,do quick damage, then get out again, staying on the balls of your feet.its brilliant.Try it yourself and see.George stands flatfooted and swing everysingle punch WIDE with ALL his might.Based on styles alone,he would NEVER EVER beat Ali,or anyone who doesnt stand infront of him.Styles make fights
@Thedudeherenow when you use the Ali principle, you dont even need to hit hard.just in bang bang quickly then out again, then keep doing that all night, always on the balls of the feet, which improves breathing, its brilliant i tell you.No wonder he said I am the greatest. It was actually true, his fighting principle was the best. You can beat most anyone doing that, regardless how strong he is or how hard he hits, just in and out!!thats all!!
@onlyjoetee You are getting lost in words. It wasn't just his ability inside the ring. It was much more than style. Ali was great, not just because of his boxing style. When he says he's great, he's talking more than boxing--he's thinking, strategy, confidence, belief in his God. Anyway, Ali was much deeper than just fighting he was bigger than the sport itself. The greats don't rely on style, they rely on much more. Bruce Lee: "The best style is no style, the best form is no form."
@onlyjoetee You are so off. His fighting principal was not unique. It was a strategy. He used much more than STYLE to win, to beat George. Good God! You make him out to be immortal. It's good to love the man but be realistic. He had flaws in ring. Lyle beat him and the fight was stopped.. A lot more going on in boxing than you realize. From your posts, one can tell you are brainwashed by the media or your old man. Delve deeper and the truth will knock you on your ego. Or knock it off ya.
@Thedudeherenow his fighting style was unique, cos no one else was doing it.All he used for George was the rope a dope,Archie Moore was doing it in the 30s,very effective against a Foreman type.Ali is immortal, what were his flaws?no infighting,no body punching,no power?with his style,he didnt need all that!Ali fought 15 rnd fights, the last 5 were the Ali Alley, thats what Lyle didnt realize LOL.I dont need any media,i've got eyes!Anyone who knows boxing will tell you,STYLES MAKE FIGHTS!
@Thedudeherenow brainwashed by what media?if a beautiful woman stands before you, will you need the media to tell you she's hot?you if hear a good tune on the radio, will you need the media to tell you it sounds good?if you eat a good meal in a restaurant will you need the media to tell you it tasted good?what fucking media do you need to tell you about the greatness of Ali's boxing style!!LOL are you blind?
@onlyjoetee well, you are dense. LOL! You need to research. You are blind to what really went on. It was head games. Then more head games after the fight. You give the champ the rematch. Ali said to Geo - after 2 more fights. Then he retired. So George lined up fights, then Ali came back. Do you understand now. Head games. In Zaire. In USA. Research deeply what really happened. Maybe the cover of Sports Illustrated in Dec '75 will get things rolling. The champ gets no rematch? Ali knew not to.
@Thedudeherenow what the fuck more does he need with fucking George Foreman!!george had enough problems after that fight believe me,You go research that!!Ali was the least of his problems LOL.you've outthought the man, outfoxed him, rope a doped him and knocked him the fuck out and made history,so he's behind you,we move on to new meat.again i tell you,Goerge Foreman CANT beat anyone with footwork, who moves!!EVER!!hahahahaha
@onlyjoetee you alright, man Ease up. Your frustration comes off in your writing. George had enough problems? What the hell? He knocked out his next 5 opponents Including Lyle and Frasier. Then lost to Young, found God, came back and was a force again. What 's with the hahahaha? Are you a teenager because it is foolish/childish. You cannot be an adult and write that way. That would be embarrassing if you are. You fight the ex champ if he wants it! Ali knew it wouldn't be the same Foreman in US
@Thedudeherenow frustration about what?wouldnt be the same Foreman?so what would be the difference?still no stamina, still swinging arm punches you can see coming a mile away, still flatfooted, still only effective against a stationary target, still a total stranger to the later rounds of a fight!you cant teach an old dog new tricks, and styles make fights, what the fuck new would George do?WHAT?my frustration?you really should learn to laugh more,George did after Zaire, its easy, like this HAHAHAHAHHA
@onlyjoetee frustrated because you're getting owned in debate. I mean, c'mon, you have laugh in caps to irritate. That's ego and childish... and ppl see through it. Ali played mind games with George before the fight. George's mind weakened and he lost his mojo. That was Ali's game plan. No rematch for the ex champ. Now, that is funny. Funny like your child-like writing. God, you are so frustrated. It's funny. I am really laughing. Please breathe and think before you write. Ease your heart.
@Thedudeherenow well im glad you're laughing, you should do more of it.So it was George's mind that weakened, excuse me,i thought it was being drained by the rope a dope,a serious lack of stamina even at 25,and swinging arm punches that take 2 days to land!LOLAgain i ask,you cant teach an old dog new tricks, and styles make fights,so what would he do in some rematch?WHAT?LOL.This time Ali would probably take him to the 14 instead of the 8th,drain him properly, and we KNOW he has NO stamina LOL
@onlyjoetee it's like talking to a rock. You don't get it. I tried. Let go and let the truth in.Maybe your dreams will help. There's more than what meets the eye.Take it easy.
@Thedudeherenow what exactly dont i get?your style is your style,by the time a professional has had 40 fights,it is very very highly unlikely that he can do anything different,so again i ask,WHAT would George do to avoid a second draining and KO?what exactly?he STILL has no stamina,he STILL all brute force and arm punching,he's STILL flat footed!!and as even you admit ,Ali also had him mentally and psychologically, what would be different?a rematch woulda been 10x worse for poor George!hahahahaha
@onlyjoetee No matter what I say, you will just spew a narrow-minded view. It's unnecessary to educate you that there are deeper things going on. I could say that great warriors adapt to any situation and styles may change in battle. Ali may have beaten him again (I liked him more than GF), maybe not...but how can it not happen. The most anticipated event of its time, the biggest boxing upset ever. No rematch? Imagine it at Madison Square Garden. But the Former champ gets no rematch. Ludicrous!
@Thedudeherenow Ali was better at those "deeper things"than anyone else ever!George aint changing nothing, all he knew was what he did.Ali would def have beaten him again and probably even worse 2nd time just like George's hero Liston. If you understand styles, you'll realize that Zaire wasnt actually an upset AT ALL!Remember what Ali told him as he swung his biggest punches?"that all you got" hahahahaha brute force always loses against science,ALWAYS!!
@onlyjoetee you're contradicting yourself. Yes, because Ali was a master of the deeper things, that is what makes him 'great.' Not just his style. He mastered the head games, taking George out of his zone b4 fight. A depleted, emotionally unstable George wouldn't have the focus and his power punching prowess. Now Ali will just tire unGeorge out and go on a flurry mid fight. You're confused about words;about science, brute force, styles, life. You shall learn. Tis the time. Begone, egoboy, begone
@Thedudeherenow i never disagreed that Ali used psychology well,so what.Thats not why George was KOd in Zaire.George DID focus on his power punching prowess,THAT is why he was KOd!he was rope a doped,an oldschool boxing trick used agaist power punchers that guys like Archie Moore were doing way back in the 1930s.You're 25yrs old world champ and undefeated, and you get out your comfort zone and become "emotionally unstable"why cos Ali says he's gonna whup you?LMFAO!
@onlyjoetee again, for the 10th time, his focus and power punching prowess was depleted because of mind games and foolishness before the fight. He did not understand why he was so hated, made out out be evil.Ali helped that along very well. Make the connection of what went on in Zaire with George and you'll get it. He was 25. A kid! Emotionally immature. He got mind boggled by a veteran 32 year old ex champ. And yes, style changes in fights! Unless you're a robot and have no spirit. Right joe?
@Thedudeherenow depleted by what?powerpunching is ALL he did in that fight, didnt you watch it!what mind games?what foolishness?once you step in the ring, its just you and him.Floyd Mayweather fought Ricky hatton, the ENTIRE crowd hated floyd,he still KO him.Thats a professional.the crowd cant fight for you.25 in a career where you start at 12 is not a kid!styles change in fights so why didnt George do something else when he was CLEARLY being rope a doped?
@onlyjoetee P.S. Can't teach an old dog new tricks! George was 25! So, I guess no changing strategy, no working on something you're weak at because keyboard warrior onlyjoetee says so, Joe's a musician- guess he will never get better at his instrument. Ali was my all time favorite HWt, but not having a rematch is an abomination. Didn't Ali get one with Leon pronto? He ducked Foreman because his strategy would be countered by the ex champ. Ali should have given rematch. I would have hoped for him.
@Thedudeherenow you start boxing at 12,by the time you're 25,your style is set, especially if you've used it to beat 40 guys undefeated.Leon spinx was a fool, instead of using the title to go make some money first,he chose to fight Ali immediately.Buster Douglas didnt give Tyson an immediate rematch,Tyson didnt give Berbick a rematch,so what!Ali would beat George foreman 100 out of 100 times based simply on style alone!
@onlyjoetee oh my, you are getting worse and worse. Wow! Buster didn't give Tyson a rematch! Berbick! No you didn't. Hey, here is one of your laughs HAHAHAHAHAH LOLOLOLOL. You are so gone. My old man once told me.. never argue with the ignorant, you'll never win. I so understand that, especially with you. You refuse to see the truth. You hide behind words in which you do not grasp the true meaning. P.S. he was 25. A pro athlete. No improving weakness at that age. Good God! No rematch?
@Thedudeherenow Buster douglas DID NOT give Tyson a rematch,Tyson DID NOT give Berbick a rematch. Those are FACT!!.You seem to think rematches are automatic for a beaten champion!Boxers start average age 12!!by the time you're 25 thats half your career done already, your chances of becoming something completely different then is zero.Check boxing history, which fighter COMPLETELY changed boxing style mid career?
@onlyjoetee ha thanks for that. You are thick. I was being sacrastic that you actually brought that up. Tyson had legal troubles going on. Mental issues. Berbick humiliated himself against Tyson. People didn't want to see that again. It's not about changing a style completely,. It's modifying it. George will always be a power puncher. What a gift! But he could work on stamina, work on cutting off the ring. Work in his mental game for the rematch.
@Thedudeherenow if that was you being sarcastic and witty you failed miserably, like your friend George in Zaire LOL.when did Tyson not have mental issues going on?Power puncher?gift?well, not against this opponent or anyone with movement.George NEVER had stamina naturally,he just doesnt.he did cut off the ring brilliantly in zaire, even Ali admitted that, did you ever actually watch that fight or what??work on what mental game?what,George would outpsychologize Ali??LOL
@onlyjoetee@onlyjoetee final words. Maybe you will get it. If Ali's style beats GF's style every time, & Ali wasn't worried, then why no rematch? YES, if the ex champ wants a rematch, he gets it. This is BOXING.This is sport. They are PRIZE fighters. MoneyMoneyMoney! Gambling! It would have been the biggest fight ever, biggest payday ever. Bigger than the Frazier rematches. If George is George & can't change, then Ali would have fought him. Good luck w your music. Hope you work on weaknesses.
@Thedudeherenow cant even beat jimmy young and you want Ali rematch?LOL if your name is Muhammed Ali in the mid 70s generating cash is no problem.Ali's true nemesis was Joe Frazier, thats the guy with a style to get him, thats the true rematch.Joe had ENDLESS stamina, could not be rope a doped cos his punches were short, fought on the inside where Ali hated, cut him off, pressured him constantly, force him into the pocket and could knock him down, not George!thx with the music, hopefully you hear me soon
@onlyjoetee It should have been done way before Jimmy Young. So Young upset Foreman. Upsets happen, joe. It's sport. You must read what I wrote. George crashed a press conference to get a rematch with Ali. Ali said after 2 more fights. Then he retired. Then came back when George was preoccupied with other fights. Ducking him. George got beat by Young, discovered God, ate a lot of hamburgers, came back a decade later and showed how good he was. Anyway, keep working on your music. You'll succeed.
@Thedudeherenow Ali fought Norton 3x and never looked good against him, some even argue he lost ALL 3 fights, because of Ken's crab style. Some guys are just wrong for some guys.Guys like Ali,Holmes,Jimmy Young who move are wrong for George, and he knows it.Styles make fights.Like you see Floyd Mayweather now, avoiding pacquiao, cos he know's,this style is not good for me,too busy, too much volume etc, cant roll 5/6/7/8 combos.so even tho it would gross $100million,he's apprehensive!Styles make fights
@onlyjoetee You're just not making much sense. Contradiction. However you kind of got it with Mayweather. See, he is looking like a coward. A fighter should fight. If he never fights him, his legacy will not be as great as it could be. Floyd is not noble here. If a pro fighter believes in himself,if they believe they are the best, they will go to battle. George wanted rematch.Ali (even though you say his style wins every time) didn't want it. Ali looks afraid just like Floyd.
@Thedudeherenow Afraid?of someone you have already outhough, outclassed and KOd?someone who you could make "mentally unstable"at will?hahahahahahahahaha
@Thedudeherenow Liston wanted a rematch with Ali,half way thru he realised fuck this, things are gonna get even worse for me this time, hahahaha styles make fights, believe me,a rematch especially with someone who has beaten you comprehensively and has you mentally and psychologically is not a good idea.if the first fight was close then yes,but when its been a total wipeout?think again George LOL he was damn lucky there was no rematch LMFAO
@onlyjoetee haha Sonny Liston. Yeah, he was a young man, eh? haha. Look, in reality I can get through to people who are not aware, but on here just using words, it's difficult to get through to ignorance. The thick don't understand metaphor and sarasm and facetiousness on here. Right, Joe? Words are just 10-20 percent communication.I'll end with: there is more than meets the eye. I see you talk like this to so many. All ego. All opinion. You need to let that go. You need to grow up.
@Thedudeherenow if you're George's "people",you want him as far away from Muhammed Ali as possible trust me.Cos he doesnt have the style to beat him and you know it,as well as being mentally fragile,a second defeat would finish him completely like his hero Sunny Liston,he would have NEVER returned!styles make fights, thats the basic law of boxing!!
@onlyjoetee You pull me back in with your ignorance. I actually believe you will get it soon, that's why I keep writing back. Probably not . George's ppl wanted the fight. George wanted the fight.! And let's talk about the Sonny Liston rematch. FIX! Let's talk about Hagler .Leonard DID NOT want a rematch. Hagler, who should have won the fight, got pissed off and retired. You have a lot to learn a bout BOXING. That is it for me. You may have the last word. I will just have the RIGHT ones. LOL!
@Thedudeherenowstyles make fights, some guys are wrong for some guys. Its like the Rocky movie,When Apollo wants a rematch and his advisors say,he's wrong style for you,and his pride wont listen. The handlers know, especially when the fighters young,it could destroy him permanently!eg Durans people should never have signed for Hearns!wrong style.Mayweather's people kept him away from kostya Tszyu,Styles make fights.Marvin Hagler wanted a war,got a chess match and couldnt cope!Styles make fights!
@onlyjoetee You brought up the Rocky movie. Good on ya. Watch Rocky Balboa. The final one. Duke made Rocky work on power! He was 58 - they taught an old dog a new trick. He hit harder than ever. At 58. Then it came down to sheer will and determination. All style out the window. Dixon, on a broken hand..wins. And wins the crowd for having heart. / Chess match?! Hagler/Leonard?You're foolish. He ran. Hagler brought the fight. Leo ran.Judges swayed by showboating.Ripped off CHAMP. You're blind! END
@Thedudeherenow the best way to decide who wins a round in boxing,is to ask yaself a simple ?,whick one of these 2 guys would i rather have been in those 3mins.Watch hagler/leonard again,do that round by round, and see why Ray won.The very fact that he could showboat, means it was "his" fight.if hagler was winning he wouldnt showboat,he couldnt,he'd barely be able to breathe LOL.If Frazier fought Foreman 10x,he's lose all 10,if he fought Ali 10x he'd probably win half, why?styles make fights!
@onlyjoetee Running awayand doing fancy punches. Ray did not win that fight. He did not beat the champ! Ray knew to stay away and sway the judges with showboating.A strategy that worked on the pro Ray judges. Ray did not grant a rematch because he was afraid.Like how he avoided the fight for a long time. Then avoided the fight in ring. If Foreman would lose all 10 fights against Ali, then why didn't Ali take the rematch?! More to fighting than meets the eye. A warrior u are not.
@Thedudeherenow boxing is not just about being a warrior, thats why you have a strategist called a trainer, who watches hours of tape of your opponent before you meet him, thats why you have a corner, who tell you things you yourself dont even see during the fight itself. You dont understand this sport AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!
@onlyjoetee there you go. You're getting it. Boxing is NOT just about being a warrior. By Jove, he got it! There is so much more to it. In and out the ring. Mind games outside the ring to mess with the head. U are a walking contradiction. First you say boxing is all style, now you're saying there's more to boxing than being a warrior. Do you know what warrior means. Read Art of War. It's a book. Then you shall understand fighting, war, man.. You probably never fought! PS3 doesn't count! LOL!
@Thedudeherenow i NEVER said boxing is all style,i said STYLES MAKE FIGHTS,everybody knows that except you!!what, you had to read a book to find out what warrior means?LOL.once in the ring,Strategy and Styles rules You wanna be a warrior fine,i'll sit down and plan the best way to frustrate and nulify you, thats boxing!some lead, some counter, some flat footed, some dance, some all power, some are speed, some head hunters, some body snatchers, some talk trash some dont Styles make fights
@onlyjoetee Keep using your cliche 'STYLE' line over and over again. YOU have no idea what you mean tho. Salvador dali once said the first man to compare the cheeks of a young woman to a rose was obviously a poet; the first to repeat it was possibly an idiot." A great fighter learns to adapt to different styles.Ali didn't give George that chance again.Ali was my favorite HW, but not giving a rematch looked bad. Zaire and the surrounding drama destroyed George. No chance of redemption? Piss poor
@Thedudeherenow Salvador dali talked bullshit, hardly knew what fucking planet he was on,and you're gonna live your life by that?LOL.Whatever happens or doesnt happen in life is always for the best.George would have been beaten very badly again and probably never stepped in a ring again and never become the megarich grinning grill salesman we know and love today!!when a door is closed in your face,be glad.It means whatever was behind it,would not have been in your interest.some wisdom for you..
@onlyjoetee Now dali is an idiot in your mind? Here is what I'm saying to you. Your 'style makes fights' line is only fact if it happens ALL THE TIME. But it does NOT. Yes, Ali had an advantage with his great speed, but get this, George may have connected and shook Ali's brain causing it to strike the skull resulting in a knock out. You keep standing behind your cliche, but it is NOT fact. It is speculation. No rematch proved that Ali's camp didn't believe that cliche totally. You lack wisdom!
@Thedudeherenow George Foreman, prime 25yr old undefeated George Foreman, hit Ali with his biggest punches, the same punches that had literally lifted great fighters in the air.Ali looked at him and said "THAT ALL YOU GOT"!!!!LMFAO!!and you want this man twice haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha
@Thedudeherenow Muhammed Ali was never KOd by anyone EVER!even at 38 AND WITH parkinson, the best fighter alive Larry Holmes, gave him the worse beating anyman ever took,AN STILL could not drop him!!and you think a fragile minded, flatfooted, arm swinging George could have when he was shining?LMFAO man!!"THAT ALL YOU GOT GEORGE" "THEY TOLD ME YOU COULD PUNCH GEORGE" "YOU@RE SWINGING LIKE A SISSY GEORGE "YOU AINT NOTHING GEORGE"!!not to mention the booing and hatred on top,and you want more?LMAO man
@Thedudeherenow Ali had George COMPLETELY!stylistically, psychologically, strategically, physically!WRONG door to knock on twice.Had it opened,George would have fallen straight down a shute at 25 and NEVER been heard of again.Beating no2 from this man would have finished him COMPLETE!!thank God for small mercies and closed doors! The Foreman of the 70s was a very different guy to the affable George of today.Even as champ,he was boo'd & hated everywhere, even in America!2nd KO fromAli?off all people?
@Thedudeherenow Yeah another beatiing and today,George would not have $100million,be a happy grill sales man, loved by the world and working for HBO,He'd probably be a crackhead somewhere!Thank God for closed door's LMAO
@onlyjoetee then give him the rematch and prove it wasn't a fluke. Do you get that yet, Joe?You're talking circles again. Yes, that is all George had. See, his power punches weren't the same because his mind and body were weakened. He was depleted before he started. If you were paying attention, you'd understand this by now. Ali should have proved that he is the ultimate champ and give the former champ a rematch. But he didn't. Looks bad, joe, just like u.You will get it one day. Good luck! HA!
@Thedudeherenow There was no rematch, because a rematch would have been the worse thing that ever happened to fragile, hated George Foreman. It would have finished off completely as a boxer and permanently unbalanced him as a man.God is merciful,
@onlyjoetee when you mature, you will see that speculation lacks substance. When you become less spiritually retarded and illogical, you will see there is more to life than meet the eyes. When you actually play sport at a high level, you will see that your cliche is not fact, but assumption. When you learn to think for yourself, you will see so many things. Then you will be successful as a musician, as a person. //No more attention 4 U. As I see from other posts, you go on and on and on...
@onlyjoetee LMAO! You know nothing! You repeat what you heard. You don't have a clue of the workings of the human mind when in battle.NONE!You have never boxed! You have never fought! READ more, Joe. Don't be swayed by the stupidity of other writers who speculate/ I am finished with your ignorance. I said it b4..you can have the last word, I will have the right ones.Just to bug you, I won't even read what you write back. That KILLS U, eh, Joe!? Your precious ego. HAHA<- say like Nelson.
@Thedudeherenow Cliche's dont exist for nothing,Styles make fights,Some guys are just wrong for some guys,Be thankful for what you dont get as well as what you do,how and why a round in boxing is actually professionally scored,A rematch with Ali would have been the worse possible thing for fragile minded George Foreman, personally and professionally; All these very obvious things, you will come to see when you come to be.farewell.xx
@Thedudeherenow Look how long it took him to get over 1 beating from Ali?imagine a second?LMAO Shit,He would be in a crack house right now or worse!!LMFAO,what fucking rematch?hahahahahahaha
@onlyjoetee See, you're making shit up again. He left boxing after Young, not Ali. Pissed that Ali chickened out. He was ready to fight right away. A warrior wants to get back in the ring to avenge his loss.
@onlyjoetee he ran! he got cute for the judges, it was his only hope. He could not hurt Hagler! He ran and ran and ran and did some silly roundhouses or whatever and the pro Leonard crowd went into a frenzy. A split decision (one judge's score was so off base - 118-110 - while the other 2 were 115-113. Hmmmm, you have to admit something is rotten in Denmark. Hagler forced the fight. Champ should have won. No rematch bc Leonard knew he got lucky with bad judging. No rematch.Hagler then retires.
@Thedudeherenow You dont understand, that styles MAKE fights, you dont understand that strategy WINS fights, you dont understand, the criteria for judging WHO wins rounds, you understand SHIT!!!!!LMFAO
@Thedudeherenow all boxers have a basic fundamental instinctive style from day one, that never radically changes.A good trainer can tweek a few things, but his essence is the same.Freddie Roach made Pacquiao a 2 rather than 1 handed fighter etc,but his basic style is exactly the same.Floyd Mayweather Sr tried to turn Ricky Hatton into some slick boxer after 41 bouts, didnt work, soon as he was hit,he reverted back to what he knew.Ali always fought like that, even as an amateur.George is George!
@Thedudeherenow Ali's strategy would be countered with what?what the fuck else would George do?would a man who NEVER had any stamina suddenly find some?would big George start floating like a butterfly?LMAO.It would have been worse man,he would have been humiliated 10x worse than before!LOL
@onlyjoetee yes, he would train differently. Work on stamina. Cutting of the ring better. Improving. Not attacking when necessary. Studying Ali in the previous fight. Preparing. Train in a non-hostile place. Find his fierce focus again. He wouldn't throw so many in rematch.. Also, you are speculating about the rematch outcome. That isn't tangible, it's disconnected. It was a mind game b4 the fight that gave Ali the edge. Ali didn't want a part of GF again. Just like Leonard and Hagler.
@Thedudeherenow Nah man, stylewise,Ali is NOT a good idea for George, just as George was not a good idea for Joe Frazier, just as Norton was not for Ali.Styles make fights.Marvin hagler didnt want no rematch,he hardly wanted the match itself. He was offered $18million,and that was 1980s dollars!he was tired of boxing in general, his life, his marriage,America(which he felt never loved him)etc.A rematch is not always a good idea!!
@Thedudeherenow Here's a ? for you!why would a man as religious as Muhammed Ali,not to mention with more vanity and confidence in his boxing ability than anyone who's EVER boxed and THE champion no less,be involved in a fix, with Liston,a man who he was twice as fast as,who could barely lay a glove on him and who he had already comprehensively outclassed! Why would he???????????
@Thedudeherenow the closest thing to Ali today, stylewise, would be Manny Pacquiao.Come in,throw your punches quickly, then get out, stay on your toes, constant ,movement. This principle is very very effective against any style. It confuses and befuddles opponents, brilliant
Such flamboyance, such charm, such grace, such looks, such confidence, such will, such flair, such showmanship, such pride, such love, such speed, such genuineness, to sum it up..............such GREATNESS
Like was said before is about in this time most fearles boxer George "black giant" Foreman. Whitch Ali beat in one of most suprising fight on boxing history .
"He was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without Pope's pretensions, Caesar without the legions of Caesar: without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue; if ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by the right divine, it was PROPHET Mohammed, for he had all the power without its instruments and without its supports."
REVERAND Bosworth Smith, MOHAMMAD AND MOHAMMADANISM, London, 1874, p. 92.
"If greatness of purpose, smallness of means & astounding results r the 3criteria of human genius, who culd dare 2compare any great man in modern history wth PROPHET MUHAMMAD?Philosopher Orator Apostle Legislator Warrior Conqueror of ideas Restorer of rational dogmas, of a cult wthout images; founder of 20 terrestrial empires & of 1 spiritual empire, that is Muhammad. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he?" Lamartine
Great man and a great human being. I'm ashamed of myself for being preoccupied with his bad side. I love him as a fighter and as a human being, and I think he feel sorry for thoser things he did. He's a wonderful human who had an incredible life.
Funny! But why does the title say "re Norton"? I mean jees, this video is like 3 years old and the guy who posted it still hasnt figured this out or learned where the EDIT VIDEO section is on his page? lol.
"If you think the world was surprised when Nixon resigned, wait until I whoop Foreman's behind!" Besides being the Greatest, Ali was a Hip Hop rap pioneer!
Yes, Norton was a great fighter and acted in one of my favorite movies "DRUM". But, Norton was no Ali and even in his prime, Norton would fight bums extended rounds and almost lose.
Ali loved to speak and he did it so that he could mentally win the fight before physically. It worked most times. He knew he did not have the old tools but he still had the mouth that it took a disease to shut. Frazier wanted his just do and refused to face his critics, that's one reason why he's a loner. Norton was a flash in the pan.
Eddie Futch was the one who came up with the strategy to beat Ali and worked relentlessly to figure out ali's bad habits. Without Futch Frazier and Norton wouldn't have beaten Ali. Really shamefull that Frazier isolated and stop talking to him after Manila.
and what am I? A guy that was there.Saw the fight live. At 22 what do YOU know? I have grandchildren that fight in the amateurs. You are just discovering shaving. Piss off wee noise. Ali is the greatest!P.S. Learn to spell ya wanna be gangster...LOL!
And if you think that he was a boring boxer, go look at some of his fights in the late 60s, which was after he changed his name and religion. He is one of the best athletes ever and truly "The Greatest" (these comments go out to crazyelvisfan)
Look at this video one more time and actually listen to what he says when he talks about beating knockout artists like Liston and Foreman...and Tyson would have gone down in the same way.Ali moved around the ring as if he weighed 100 something pounds.
??, wat r u talking about lost, he got more famous, why the hell would he go down hill, lol its pretty obvious that ur only saying this shit just because he converted to Islam and changed his name to Muhammad Ali, it was at the point after ge changed his name that his became really really famous, and has some of his most famous fights, ITS VERY CLEAR CRAZYELVISFAN THAT YOUR RUPPING ON ALI JUST BECUASE OF HIS RELIGION AND NAME, HOW SAD.
BIH89, are you NUTS?? Religion?? I meant after he changed his NAME from Clay that it did not work for him....the thing is I'm in numerology! By the way, I love all people no matter what religion or colour...Religion is on your mind pal...atleast not on mine!. Frankly speaking I never did like boxing until Tyson came on the scene...and I was speaking about his health, so...never judge someone like the way YOU think Ok? Try not to be mean :)!
This IS my last comment on Ali as he always bored me with his big mouth and also you are now! So adious and I still say Tyson, foreman, and Sonny Liston were way better! Ali ,sorry to disappoint you guys but he bores me.yawn yawn!!
All these brag and I really smile but ever heard the saying " Clay has a lip that Sonny will zip"? I really feel Clay was much greater than Sonny and all the politics that go with it have a lot to do.
Maybe a bum or whatever but when it comes to opinions lets stick to facts...There is no match to the greatest ever...Tyson! He HAS been voted as the greatest in heavy weights and would have settled two Alis. I never ever found Ali to be the greatest but his footwork as a light man on his feet is to be appreciated. But ...Tyson is in another league!!
Ever heard the saying "you hands cant hit what your eyes cant see". Foreman got whipped when he was in his prime by a 30 something year old Ali. Muhammad Ali, in his prime, is the GREATEST of all time; He was too smart, had too much speed and quickness.
He would have taken Tyson?? You have an awful sense of humour! Tyson would not have let him go a round! Ali wasmore talk than anything else. And by the way a lotof poltics were involved. later Ali had a lotof backing from various groups.Money speaks you know!
Obviously you are a dumbass. You seriously think that Tyson wouldve stood a chance against Ali. Let me tell you one thing; There is more to boxing than just throwing punches around wrecklessly. Ali was way too smart and way too quick to get knocked around by Tyson. Ever heard the saying "Your hands can't hit what your eyes can't see"...enough said.
The Chronic...first off try to be polite and secondly, you are entitled to your opinion but its all all about jumping fast and clear and away! Tyson HAD all that and more...POWER unseen and unheard off till today!
And yes...I seriously think along with the entire world that Tyson IS the best ever while Ali was light on his feet but no great shakes!!
Hey crazyelvisfan Elvis is boring. Sinatra is in another league.Ozzy Osbourne has a better voice than Elvis....You know what? Stick to listening to Elvis and let people who know the sport comment.Ali WAS boxing for two decades. Mike came and went fast. Further in his prime Ali would ko Mike in the middle rounds. Tyson was built for Ali,Mentally weak and fodder for that jab AND he wouldn't have landed a punch on a young Ali. Ali= G.O.A.T. I'm a Beatles man.
hes talkin about foreman not norton.

Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
yes, of course, it is a good strategy.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
Well, the rematch debate can go on and on. More complex than what many believe/ Back to the fight -- Ali's style would not have worked like you thought on a more mentally stable Foreman. Therefore, he weakened the mighty George before the fight. Proving to people everywhere that there is more than what meets the eye. More than what you believe.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
Foreman was invincible at the time. He got into his head--George started believing Ali could beat him by the time the bell rang. Just part of Ali's greatness. More than just a boxer.
chaseman12 11 months ago 4
@chaseman12 monstrous type fighters, whose style is based soley on power and brute force, were tailor made for Ali,because his style was "scientific"!!its actually very simple, styles make fights.Thats why he was never worried about these power guys!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee no, you are so wrong. Ali was afraid of Foreman--they all were. Foreman was the force at that time. Ali needed a strategy outside the ring as well. You wrote He was never worried about power guys. Who can ever say something like that? Pro boxers would never think that way. Lot more going on in boxing than style in the ring. Watch 'When We Were Kings'...and you'll stop speaking from the hip.
chaseman12 10 months ago
@chaseman12 how the hell would Ali be worried about someone who's entire style is based only on power?who has no stamina?who gases after 2 rounds?who swings wide arm punches like a woman?who has no footwork ,who is only effective against a stationary target? If Muhammed Ali was afraid of these, he would never even have turned Pro in the first place.you said "they" were afraid of Foreman,That is precisely what set Ali apart,he didnt think like "they" did!!EVER!!he was born for those type fighters!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee like I said, watch "When We Were Kings." Your opinion is just pride, it's not fact. Yes, Ali was afraid. Foreman gassing out? He didn't need to go past the 5th in most fights bc he knocked them out early. He was in better physical condition than Ali before the fight. He was the ultimate power puncher. He was the King and this was the biggest upset ever at the time.Tyson/Douglas took that title. I admire your love for Ali, he was my favourite 2,but you are so wrong. End. Ali Ali Ali
chaseman12 10 months ago
@chaseman12 every performer gets nervous before a show,im a musician,i know about that.Foreman always had stamina problems, that is precicely why the rope a dope was so perfect on him.A power puncher with no stamina?in the era of 15 rnd bouts?LOL his punches come so wide you could see them a day in advance, and if it misses,3 rnd worth of energy leaves his body LOL poor George,he didnt even learn to box or smile till Ali KOd him hahaha brute force vs science and psychology? LOL styles make fights!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee Yes! You said it--psychology. Ali got into the bully's head. Outside the ring and then inside. Nothing to do with style outside. Verbal warfare to take the big, bad bully off his game. And, of course, great boxing in the ring. It's a combination. For Ali to beat big Geo, he had to battle his mind before the bout. That's the 'greatness' of Ali--not just floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee--but his mind. Also, LOL's after your sentences makes you look weak.
chaseman12 10 months ago
@chaseman12 styles make fights. Its easy for an Ali to beat a foreman.George cant handle guys who move, thats why jimmy young beat him, thats why he ducked Larry Holmes,he's only good with a stationary target.Ali could even have beaten him without the rope a dope. And i am very very far from weak, mentally physically or spiritually LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee you write drivel. So showing your true colours. Who said anything about you being weak physically and spiritually? Did I hit a nerve, and now you have to pump your chest out? Tell us all about the hot chicks you get ,too. You are dismissed. Run along and argue someone else and state no facts in the process --I've seen your other posts. Weak. I still laugh about your line about you being musician. Comparing yourself to a pro boxer. You are funny! Good luck out there, Skip. *Poof*
chaseman12 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee You're speculating, and thinking about the match on paper. Foreman had more going on than just big punches. He was a force w/ a confidence and focus so fierce. Ali needed to mess with GF's mind before the fight. The African's were chanting the equivalent of "Ali, kill him." George was a mental wreck over there and it depleted him physically. And if Ali had no worries, then why did he refuse a rematch? George was disrespected by that country. It overwhelmed him. But no rematch?
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow a rematch was based on george beating jimmy young in venezuela, but he lost!force is nothing when it meets science.styles make fights. The Ali principle is simply THE BEST way to box.come in,do quick damage, then get out again, staying on the balls of your feet.its brilliant.Try it yourself and see.George stands flatfooted and swing everysingle punch WIDE with ALL his might.Based on styles alone,he would NEVER EVER beat Ali,or anyone who doesnt stand infront of him.Styles make fights
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow when you use the Ali principle, you dont even need to hit hard.just in bang bang quickly then out again, then keep doing that all night, always on the balls of the feet, which improves breathing, its brilliant i tell you.No wonder he said I am the greatest. It was actually true, his fighting principle was the best. You can beat most anyone doing that, regardless how strong he is or how hard he hits, just in and out!!thats all!!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee You are getting lost in words. It wasn't just his ability inside the ring. It was much more than style. Ali was great, not just because of his boxing style. When he says he's great, he's talking more than boxing--he's thinking, strategy, confidence, belief in his God. Anyway, Ali was much deeper than just fighting he was bigger than the sport itself. The greats don't rely on style, they rely on much more. Bruce Lee: "The best style is no style, the best form is no form."
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow you can say anything you like, when you step in the ring, and its just you and him,Styles make fights!!!!!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee You are so off. His fighting principal was not unique. It was a strategy. He used much more than STYLE to win, to beat George. Good God! You make him out to be immortal. It's good to love the man but be realistic. He had flaws in ring. Lyle beat him and the fight was stopped.. A lot more going on in boxing than you realize. From your posts, one can tell you are brainwashed by the media or your old man. Delve deeper and the truth will knock you on your ego. Or knock it off ya.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow his fighting style was unique, cos no one else was doing it.All he used for George was the rope a dope,Archie Moore was doing it in the 30s,very effective against a Foreman type.Ali is immortal, what were his flaws?no infighting,no body punching,no power?with his style,he didnt need all that!Ali fought 15 rnd fights, the last 5 were the Ali Alley, thats what Lyle didnt realize LOL.I dont need any media,i've got eyes!Anyone who knows boxing will tell you,STYLES MAKE FIGHTS!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow brainwashed by what media?if a beautiful woman stands before you, will you need the media to tell you she's hot?you if hear a good tune on the radio, will you need the media to tell you it sounds good?if you eat a good meal in a restaurant will you need the media to tell you it tasted good?what fucking media do you need to tell you about the greatness of Ali's boxing style!!LOL are you blind?
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee well, you are dense. LOL! You need to research. You are blind to what really went on. It was head games. Then more head games after the fight. You give the champ the rematch. Ali said to Geo - after 2 more fights. Then he retired. So George lined up fights, then Ali came back. Do you understand now. Head games. In Zaire. In USA. Research deeply what really happened. Maybe the cover of Sports Illustrated in Dec '75 will get things rolling. The champ gets no rematch? Ali knew not to.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow what the fuck more does he need with fucking George Foreman!!george had enough problems after that fight believe me,You go research that!!Ali was the least of his problems LOL.you've outthought the man, outfoxed him, rope a doped him and knocked him the fuck out and made history,so he's behind you,we move on to new meat.again i tell you,Goerge Foreman CANT beat anyone with footwork, who moves!!EVER!!hahahahaha
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee you alright, man Ease up. Your frustration comes off in your writing. George had enough problems? What the hell? He knocked out his next 5 opponents Including Lyle and Frasier. Then lost to Young, found God, came back and was a force again. What 's with the hahahaha? Are you a teenager because it is foolish/childish. You cannot be an adult and write that way. That would be embarrassing if you are. You fight the ex champ if he wants it! Ali knew it wouldn't be the same Foreman in US
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow frustration about what?wouldnt be the same Foreman?so what would be the difference?still no stamina, still swinging arm punches you can see coming a mile away, still flatfooted, still only effective against a stationary target, still a total stranger to the later rounds of a fight!you cant teach an old dog new tricks, and styles make fights, what the fuck new would George do?WHAT?my frustration?you really should learn to laugh more,George did after Zaire, its easy, like this HAHAHAHAHHA
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee frustrated because you're getting owned in debate. I mean, c'mon, you have laugh in caps to irritate. That's ego and childish... and ppl see through it. Ali played mind games with George before the fight. George's mind weakened and he lost his mojo. That was Ali's game plan. No rematch for the ex champ. Now, that is funny. Funny like your child-like writing. God, you are so frustrated. It's funny. I am really laughing. Please breathe and think before you write. Ease your heart.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow well im glad you're laughing, you should do more of it.So it was George's mind that weakened, excuse me,i thought it was being drained by the rope a dope,a serious lack of stamina even at 25,and swinging arm punches that take 2 days to land!LOLAgain i ask,you cant teach an old dog new tricks, and styles make fights,so what would he do in some rematch?WHAT?LOL.This time Ali would probably take him to the 14 instead of the 8th,drain him properly, and we KNOW he has NO stamina LOL
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee it's like talking to a rock. You don't get it. I tried. Let go and let the truth in.Maybe your dreams will help. There's more than what meets the eye.Take it easy.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow what exactly dont i get?your style is your style,by the time a professional has had 40 fights,it is very very highly unlikely that he can do anything different,so again i ask,WHAT would George do to avoid a second draining and KO?what exactly?he STILL has no stamina,he STILL all brute force and arm punching,he's STILL flat footed!!and as even you admit ,Ali also had him mentally and psychologically, what would be different?a rematch woulda been 10x worse for poor George!hahahahaha
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee No matter what I say, you will just spew a narrow-minded view. It's unnecessary to educate you that there are deeper things going on. I could say that great warriors adapt to any situation and styles may change in battle. Ali may have beaten him again (I liked him more than GF), maybe not...but how can it not happen. The most anticipated event of its time, the biggest boxing upset ever. No rematch? Imagine it at Madison Square Garden. But the Former champ gets no rematch. Ludicrous!
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Ali was better at those "deeper things"than anyone else ever!George aint changing nothing, all he knew was what he did.Ali would def have beaten him again and probably even worse 2nd time just like George's hero Liston. If you understand styles, you'll realize that Zaire wasnt actually an upset AT ALL!Remember what Ali told him as he swung his biggest punches?"that all you got" hahahahaha brute force always loses against science,ALWAYS!!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee you're contradicting yourself. Yes, because Ali was a master of the deeper things, that is what makes him 'great.' Not just his style. He mastered the head games, taking George out of his zone b4 fight. A depleted, emotionally unstable George wouldn't have the focus and his power punching prowess. Now Ali will just tire unGeorge out and go on a flurry mid fight. You're confused about words;about science, brute force, styles, life. You shall learn. Tis the time. Begone, egoboy, begone
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow i never disagreed that Ali used psychology well,so what.Thats not why George was KOd in Zaire.George DID focus on his power punching prowess,THAT is why he was KOd!he was rope a doped,an oldschool boxing trick used agaist power punchers that guys like Archie Moore were doing way back in the 1930s.You're 25yrs old world champ and undefeated, and you get out your comfort zone and become "emotionally unstable"why cos Ali says he's gonna whup you?LMFAO!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee again, for the 10th time, his focus and power punching prowess was depleted because of mind games and foolishness before the fight. He did not understand why he was so hated, made out out be evil.Ali helped that along very well. Make the connection of what went on in Zaire with George and you'll get it. He was 25. A kid! Emotionally immature. He got mind boggled by a veteran 32 year old ex champ. And yes, style changes in fights! Unless you're a robot and have no spirit. Right joe?
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow depleted by what?powerpunching is ALL he did in that fight, didnt you watch it!what mind games?what foolishness?once you step in the ring, its just you and him.Floyd Mayweather fought Ricky hatton, the ENTIRE crowd hated floyd,he still KO him.Thats a professional.the crowd cant fight for you.25 in a career where you start at 12 is not a kid!styles change in fights so why didnt George do something else when he was CLEARLY being rope a doped?
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee P.S. Can't teach an old dog new tricks! George was 25! So, I guess no changing strategy, no working on something you're weak at because keyboard warrior onlyjoetee says so, Joe's a musician- guess he will never get better at his instrument. Ali was my all time favorite HWt, but not having a rematch is an abomination. Didn't Ali get one with Leon pronto? He ducked Foreman because his strategy would be countered by the ex champ. Ali should have given rematch. I would have hoped for him.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow you start boxing at 12,by the time you're 25,your style is set, especially if you've used it to beat 40 guys undefeated.Leon spinx was a fool, instead of using the title to go make some money first,he chose to fight Ali immediately.Buster Douglas didnt give Tyson an immediate rematch,Tyson didnt give Berbick a rematch,so what!Ali would beat George foreman 100 out of 100 times based simply on style alone!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee oh my, you are getting worse and worse. Wow! Buster didn't give Tyson a rematch! Berbick! No you didn't. Hey, here is one of your laughs HAHAHAHAHAH LOLOLOLOL. You are so gone. My old man once told me.. never argue with the ignorant, you'll never win. I so understand that, especially with you. You refuse to see the truth. You hide behind words in which you do not grasp the true meaning. P.S. he was 25. A pro athlete. No improving weakness at that age. Good God! No rematch?
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Buster douglas DID NOT give Tyson a rematch,Tyson DID NOT give Berbick a rematch. Those are FACT!!.You seem to think rematches are automatic for a beaten champion!Boxers start average age 12!!by the time you're 25 thats half your career done already, your chances of becoming something completely different then is zero.Check boxing history, which fighter COMPLETELY changed boxing style mid career?
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee ha thanks for that. You are thick. I was being sacrastic that you actually brought that up. Tyson had legal troubles going on. Mental issues. Berbick humiliated himself against Tyson. People didn't want to see that again. It's not about changing a style completely,. It's modifying it. George will always be a power puncher. What a gift! But he could work on stamina, work on cutting off the ring. Work in his mental game for the rematch.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow if that was you being sarcastic and witty you failed miserably, like your friend George in Zaire LOL.when did Tyson not have mental issues going on?Power puncher?gift?well, not against this opponent or anyone with movement.George NEVER had stamina naturally,he just doesnt.he did cut off the ring brilliantly in zaire, even Ali admitted that, did you ever actually watch that fight or what??work on what mental game?what,George would outpsychologize Ali??LOL
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee @onlyjoetee final words.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow cant even beat jimmy young and you want Ali rematch?LOL if your name is Muhammed Ali in the mid 70s generating cash is no problem.Ali's true nemesis was Joe Frazier, thats the guy with a style to get him, thats the true rematch.Joe had ENDLESS stamina, could not be rope a doped cos his punches were short, fought on the inside where Ali hated, cut him off, pressured him constantly, force him into the pocket and could knock him down, not George!thx with the music, hopefully you hear me soon
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee It should have been done way before Jimmy Young. So Young upset Foreman. Upsets happen, joe. It's sport. You must read what I wrote. George crashed a press conference to get a rematch with Ali. Ali said after 2 more fights. Then he retired. Then came back when George was preoccupied with other fights. Ducking him. George got beat by Young, discovered God, ate a lot of hamburgers, came back a decade later and showed how good he was. Anyway, keep working on your music. You'll succeed.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Ali fought Norton 3x and never looked good against him, some even argue he lost ALL 3 fights, because of Ken's crab style. Some guys are just wrong for some guys.Guys like Ali,Holmes,Jimmy Young who move are wrong for George, and he knows it.Styles make fights.Like you see Floyd Mayweather now, avoiding pacquiao, cos he know's,this style is not good for me,too busy, too much volume etc, cant roll 5/6/7/8 combos.so even tho it would gross $100million,he's apprehensive!Styles make fights
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee You're just not making much sense. Contradiction. However you kind of got it with Mayweather. See, he is looking like a coward. A fighter should fight. If he never fights him, his legacy will not be as great as it could be. Floyd is not noble here. If a pro fighter believes in himself,if they believe they are the best, they will go to battle. George wanted rematch.Ali (even though you say his style wins every time) didn't want it. Ali looks afraid just like Floyd.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Afraid?of someone you have already outhough, outclassed and KOd?someone who you could make "mentally unstable"at will?hahahahahahahahaha
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Liston wanted a rematch with Ali,half way thru he realised fuck this, things are gonna get even worse for me this time, hahahaha styles make fights, believe me,a rematch especially with someone who has beaten you comprehensively and has you mentally and psychologically is not a good idea.if the first fight was close then yes,but when its been a total wipeout?think again George LOL he was damn lucky there was no rematch LMFAO
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee haha Sonny Liston. Yeah, he was a young man, eh? haha. Look, in reality I can get through to people who are not aware, but on here just using words, it's difficult to get through to ignorance. The thick don't understand metaphor and sarasm and facetiousness on here. Right, Joe? Words are just 10-20 percent communication.I'll end with: there is more than meets the eye. I see you talk like this to so many. All ego. All opinion. You need to let that go. You need to grow up.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow if you're George's "people",you want him as far away from Muhammed Ali as possible trust me.Cos he doesnt have the style to beat him and you know it,as well as being mentally fragile,a second defeat would finish him completely like his hero Sunny Liston,he would have NEVER returned!styles make fights, thats the basic law of boxing!!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago

The handlers know, especially when the fighters young,it could destroy him permanently!eg Durans people should never have signed for Hearns!wrong style.Mayweather's people kept him away from kostya Tszyu,Styles make fights.Marvin Hagler wanted a war,got a chess match and couldnt cope!Styles make fights!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
END
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow the best way to decide who wins a round in boxing,is to ask yaself a simple ?,whick one of these 2 guys would i rather have been in those 3mins.Watch hagler/leonard again,do that round by round, and see why Ray won.The very fact that he could showboat, means it was "his" fight.if hagler was winning he wouldnt showboat,he couldnt,he'd barely be able to breathe LOL.If Frazier fought Foreman 10x,he's lose all 10,if he fought Ali 10x he'd probably win half, why?styles make fights!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee Running awayand doing fancy punches. Ray did not win that fight. He did not beat the champ! Ray knew to stay away and sway the judges with showboating.A strategy that worked on the pro Ray judges. Ray did not grant a rematch because he was afraid.Like how he avoided the fight for a long time. Then avoided the fight in ring. If Foreman would lose all 10 fights against Ali, then why didn't Ali take the rematch?! More to fighting than meets the eye. A warrior u are not.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow boxing is not just about being a warrior, thats why you have a strategist called a trainer, who watches hours of tape of your opponent before you meet him, thats why you have a corner, who tell you things you yourself dont even see during the fight itself. You dont understand this sport AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee there you go. You're getting it. Boxing is NOT just about being a warrior. By Jove, he got it! There is so much more to it. In and out the ring. Mind games outside the ring to mess with the head. U are a walking contradiction. First you say boxing is all style, now you're saying there's more to boxing than being a warrior. Do you know what warrior means. Read Art of War. It's a book. Then you shall understand fighting, war, man.. You probably never fought! PS3 doesn't count! LOL!
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow i NEVER said boxing is all style,i said STYLES MAKE FIGHTS,everybody knows that except you!!what, you had to read a book to find out what warrior means?LOL.once in the ring,Strategy and Styles rules You wanna be a warrior fine,i'll sit down and plan the best way to frustrate and nulify you, thats boxing!some lead, some counter, some flat footed, some dance, some all power, some are speed, some head hunters, some body snatchers, some talk trash some dont Styles make fights
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee Keep using your cliche 'STYLE' line over and over again. YOU have no idea what you mean tho. Salvador dali once said the first man to compare the cheeks of a young woman to a rose was obviously a poet; the first to repeat it was possibly an idiot." A great fighter learns to adapt to different styles.Ali didn't give George that chance again.Ali was my favorite HW, but not giving a rematch looked bad. Zaire and the surrounding drama destroyed George. No chance of redemption? Piss poor
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Salvador dali talked bullshit, hardly knew what fucking planet he was on,and you're gonna live your life by that?LOL.Whatever happens or doesnt happen in life is always for the best.George would have been beaten very badly again and probably never stepped in a ring again and never become the megarich grinning grill salesman we know and love today!!when a door is closed in your face,be glad.It means whatever was behind it,would not have been in your interest.some wisdom for you..
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee Now dali is an idiot in your mind? Here is what I'm saying to you. Your 'style makes fights' line is only fact if it happens ALL THE TIME. But it does NOT. Yes, Ali had an advantage with his great speed, but get this, George may have connected and shook Ali's brain causing it to strike the skull resulting in a knock out. You keep standing behind your cliche, but it is NOT fact. It is speculation. No rematch proved that Ali's camp didn't believe that cliche totally. You lack wisdom!
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow George Foreman, prime 25yr old undefeated George Foreman, hit Ali with his biggest punches, the same punches that had literally lifted great fighters in the air.Ali looked at him and said "THAT ALL YOU GOT"!!!!LMFAO!!and you want this man twice haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Muhammed Ali was never KOd by anyone EVER!even at 38 AND WITH parkinson, the best fighter alive Larry Holmes, gave him the worse beating anyman ever took,AN STILL could not drop him!!and you think a fragile minded, flatfooted, arm swinging George could have when he was shining?LMFAO man!!"THAT ALL YOU GOT GEORGE" "THEY TOLD ME YOU COULD PUNCH GEORGE" "YOU@RE SWINGING LIKE A SISSY GEORGE "YOU AINT NOTHING GEORGE"!!not to mention the booing and hatred on top,and you want more?LMAO man
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Ali had George COMPLETELY!stylistically, psychologically, strategically, physically!WRONG door to knock on twice.Had it opened,George would have fallen straight down a shute at 25 and NEVER been heard of again.Beating no2 from this man would have finished him COMPLETE!!thank God for small mercies and closed doors! The Foreman of the 70s was a very different guy to the affable George of today.Even as champ,he was boo'd & hated everywhere, even in America!2nd KO fromAli?off all people?
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee then give him the rematch! Make him suffer the second time. Prove it wasn't a fluke!
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Yeah another beatiing and today,George would not have $100million,be a happy grill sales man, loved by the world and working for HBO,He'd probably be a crackhead somewhere!Thank God for closed door's LMAO
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee then give him the rematch and prove it wasn't a fluke. Do you get that yet, Joe?You're talking circles again. Yes, that is all George had. See, his power punches weren't the same because his mind and body were weakened. He was depleted before he started. If you were paying attention, you'd understand this by now. Ali should have proved that he is the ultimate champ and give the former champ a rematch. But he didn't. Looks bad, joe, just like u.You will get it one day. Good luck! HA!
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow There was no rematch, because a rematch would have been the worse thing that ever happened to fragile, hated George Foreman. It would have finished off completely as a boxer and permanently unbalanced him as a man.God is merciful,
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee when you mature, you will see that speculation lacks substance. When you become less spiritually retarded and illogical, you will see there is more to life than meet the eyes. When you actually play sport at a high level, you will see that your cliche is not fact, but assumption. When you learn to think for yourself, you will see so many things. Then you will be successful as a musician, as a person. //No more attention 4 U. As I see from other posts, you go on and on and on...
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow and when you simply learn more about the sport of boxing, you will realize and understand everything i've said xx
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee LMAO! You know nothing! You repeat what you heard. You don't have a clue of the workings of the human mind when in battle.NONE!You have never boxed! You have never fought! READ more, Joe. Don't be swayed by the stupidity of other writers who speculate/ I am finished with your ignorance. I said it b4..you can have the last word, I will have the right ones.Just to bug you, I won't even read what you write back. That KILLS U, eh, Joe!? Your precious ego. HAHA<- say like Nelson.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Cliche's dont exist for nothing,Styles make fights,Some guys are just wrong for some guys,Be thankful for what you dont get as well as what you do,how and why a round in boxing is actually professionally scored,A rematch with Ali would have been the worse possible thing for fragile minded George Foreman, personally and professionally; All these very obvious things, you will come to see when you come to be.farewell.xx
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Look how long it took him to get over 1 beating from Ali?imagine a second?LMAO Shit,He would be in a crack house right now or worse!!LMFAO,what fucking rematch?hahahahahahaha
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee See, you're making shit up again. He left boxing after Young, not Ali. Pissed that Ali chickened out. He was ready to fight right away. A warrior wants to get back in the ring to avenge his loss.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow cliche's dont come from nowhere, you'll find that invariably they're always true...
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow if you were in a ring with Marvin Hagler and HE was beating your ass,do you think you could show boat?hahahahahahahaha
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee he ran! he got cute for the judges, it was his only hope. He could not hurt Hagler! He ran and ran and ran and did some silly roundhouses or whatever and the pro Leonard crowd went into a frenzy. A split decision (one judge's score was so off base - 118-110 - while the other 2 were 115-113. Hmmmm, you have to admit something is rotten in Denmark. Hagler forced the fight. Champ should have won. No rematch bc Leonard knew he got lucky with bad judging. No rematch.Hagler then retires.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow you dont know anything AT ALL about this sport AT ALL!!!!!!!!!LMAO
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow You dont understand, that styles MAKE fights, you dont understand that strategy WINS fights, you dont understand, the criteria for judging WHO wins rounds, you understand SHIT!!!!!LMFAO
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow all boxers have a basic fundamental instinctive style from day one, that never radically changes.A good trainer can tweek a few things, but his essence is the same.Freddie Roach made Pacquiao a 2 rather than 1 handed fighter etc,but his basic style is exactly the same.Floyd Mayweather Sr tried to turn Ricky Hatton into some slick boxer after 41 bouts, didnt work, soon as he was hit,he reverted back to what he knew.Ali always fought like that, even as an amateur.George is George!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Ali's strategy would be countered with what?what the fuck else would George do?would a man who NEVER had any stamina suddenly find some?would big George start floating like a butterfly?LMAO.It would have been worse man,he would have been humiliated 10x worse than before!LOL
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@onlyjoetee yes, he would train differently. Work on stamina. Cutting of the ring better. Improving. Not attacking when necessary. Studying Ali in the previous fight. Preparing. Train in a non-hostile place. Find his fierce focus again. He wouldn't throw so many in rematch.. Also, you are speculating about the rematch outcome. That isn't tangible, it's disconnected. It was a mind game b4 the fight that gave Ali the edge. Ali didn't want a part of GF again. Just like Leonard and Hagler.
Thedudeherenow 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Nah man, stylewise,Ali is NOT a good idea for George, just as George was not a good idea for Joe Frazier, just as Norton was not for Ali.Styles make fights.Marvin hagler didnt want no rematch,he hardly wanted the match itself. He was offered $18million,and that was 1980s dollars!he was tired of boxing in general, his life, his marriage,America(which he felt never loved him)etc.A rematch is not always a good idea!!
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow Here's a ? for you!why would a man as religious as Muhammed Ali,not to mention with more vanity and confidence in his boxing ability than anyone who's EVER boxed and THE champion no less,be involved in a fix, with Liston,a man who he was twice as fast as,who could barely lay a glove on him and who he had already comprehensively outclassed! Why would he???????????
onlyjoetee 10 months ago
@Thedudeherenow the closest thing to Ali today, stylewise, would be Manny Pacquiao.Come in,throw your punches quickly, then get out, stay on your toes, constant ,movement. This principle is very very effective against any style. It confuses and befuddles opponents, brilliant
onlyjoetee 10 months ago

Yes, Norton was a great fighter and acted in one of my favorite movies "DRUM". But, Norton was no Ali and even in his prime, Norton would fight bums extended rounds and almost lose.
BrownEagle7 2 years ago
Ali loved to speak and he did it so that he could mentally win the fight before physically. It worked most times. He knew he did not have the old tools but he still had the mouth that it took a disease to shut. Frazier wanted his just do and refused to face his critics, that's one reason why he's a loner. Norton was a flash in the pan.
BrownEagle7 2 years ago
Ken Norton was not a flash in the pan, and to say so diminishes Ali.
Norton was the world heavyweight champion, he TKO'd Jerry Quarry (a formidable fighter), and fought for many years.
Let's still to the facts.

Eddie Futch was the one who came up with the strategy to beat Ali and worked relentlessly to figure out ali's bad habits. Without Futch Frazier and Norton wouldn't have beaten Ali. Really shamefull that Frazier isolated and stop talking to him after Manila.

TheChronic2132 4 years ago
Look at this video one more time and actually listen to what he says when he talks about beating knockout artists like Liston and Foreman...and Tyson would have gone down in the same way.Ali moved around the ring as if he weighed 100 something pounds.

crazyelvisfan 4 years ago
??, wat r u talking about lost, he got more famous, why the hell would he go down hill, lol its pretty obvious that ur only saying this shit just because he converted to Islam and changed his name to Muhammad Ali, it was at the point after ge changed his name that his became really really famous, and has some of his most famous fights, ITS VERY CLEAR CRAZYELVISFAN THAT YOUR RUPPING ON ALI JUST BECUASE OF HIS RELIGION AND NAME, HOW SAD.
BIH89 4 years ago
BIH89, are you NUTS?? Religion?? I meant after he changed his NAME from Clay that it did not work for him....the thing is I'm in numerology! tyson is a bum compared 2 ali
Corrine22960 4 years ago
Maybe a bum or whatever but when it comes to opinions lets stick to facts...There is no match to the greatest ever...Tyson! He HAS been voted as the greatest in heavy weights and would have settled two Alis. I never ever found Ali to be the greatest but his footwork as a light man on his feet is to be appreciated. But ...Tyson is in another league!!
crazyelvisfan 4 years ago
Ever heard the saying "you hands cant hit what your eyes cant see". Foreman got whipped when he was in his prime by a 30 something year old Ali. Muhammad Ali, in his prime, is the GREATEST of all time; He was too smart, had too much speed and quickness.
TheChronic2132 4 years ago
He wouldve taken Tyson into the later rounds and whouldve whooped his ass like he did to Foreman
TheChronic2132 4 years ago
He would have taken Tyson?? You have an awful sense of humour! Tyson would not have let him go a round! Ali wasmore talk than anything else. And by the way a lotof poltics were involved. later Ali had a lotof backing from various groups.Money speaks you know!
crazyelvisfan 4 years ago
Obviously you are a dumbass. You seriously think that Tyson wouldve stood a chance against Ali. Let me tell you one thing; There is more to boxing than just throwing punches around wrecklessly. Ali was way too smart and way too quick to get knocked around by Tyson. Ever heard the saying "Your hands can't hit what your eyes can't see"...enough said.
TheChronic2132 4 years ago 2
The Chronic...first off try to be polite and secondly, you are entitled to your opinion but its all all about jumping fast and clear and away! Tyson HAD all that and more...POWER unseen and unheard off till today!
And yes...I seriously think along with the entire world that Tyson IS the best ever while Ali was light on his feet but no great shakes!!
crazyelvisfan 4 years ago
Hey crazyelvisfan Elvis is boring. Sinatra is in another league.Ozzy Osbourne has a better voice than Elvis....You know what? Stick to listening to Elvis and let people who know the sport comment.Ali WAS boxing for two decades. Mike came and went fast. Further in his prime Ali would ko Mike in the middle rounds. Tyson was built for Ali,Mentally weak and fodder for that jab AND he wouldn't have landed a punch on a young Ali. Ali= G.O.A.T. I'm a Beatles man.
