In fact it is not the case. I live in Saudi Arabia and the GMC comes with "8100 - V8" badge on the back! It just comes out of the showroom like that. But for the new models (2007 and above) you can't tell anymore.

Read my upper comment another one. I have 3.5 v6 Kia sorento 2.7 tonnes(Ex Long version 7 seats) it goes 0-100 kmh in 7.3 secs. What i mean is Do you need all this power with improvements to your car so it is 8.1 liter with new air filter and stuff so you can accelerate for 0.6 secs faster. thats dope i have a 2001 chevy suburban with the 6.0 litre with a k&n and jet chips 1 and 2 stage and with gibson headers and exhaust and up graded some of the air flow to get more power right now im getting zero to 60 in 5.2 seconds it has a 4 inch lift and 35 inch tires weird but i made them fit its a three quarter ton like yours with everything added my burb weighed in at 6500 pounds so its heavy but nice v ideo

It is a beast, but the American versions don't have torque management. It must be for export only. I can mash mine to the floor and it has full power the whole time. I have a Hypertech programmer installed also.
