  • Even now whenever my mates are playing pool or snooker I have to say "miss red" every now and again...... I also do the sound of the clock ticking.... I think they hate me.

  • unreal game show, along with some talented snooker personalities. davidson was also a legend

  • Was this really on TV in 2002, cos i don't remember seeing it on TV past the mid 90s.

  • @Anders2185 nah it was mid 90's when this was on.

  • @glasgowladster Yeah thats what I thought, wiki says it ran right into the 00s lol

  • @Anders2185 didnt realise it ran for that long.

  • @Anders2185 Well it was broadcast on BBC1 between 30 April 1991 and 9 October 2002.

  • @games4356 I really don't remember seeing on TV past the mid 90s, maybe I just stopped watching Saturday night tele lol

  • I DEMAND BIG BREAK BACK ON AIR!

  • I wasn't a big fan of snooker but loved this show

  • Bullseye, Crystal Maze, Big Break, Blockbusters... TV was so much better than it is today. And no Z-List celebrities or condescending hosts in sight!

  • BRING IT BACK!!!

  • I'm gonna be snookerin' my girlfriend tonight.

  • This is going in my party playlist for tonight...

  • My childhood in the 90's ;-)

  • i wish i was old enough to know this shit. looks like quality stuff.

  • @jeobeahon if you like your snooker and all that then this is the program for you i grew up watching this show and it was on the best programs there was juring the 90s

  • @jeobeahon it really was shit.

  • I didn't mind Jim Davidson in this and The generation game. It's just his standup I can't stand. Still great theme!

  • @KeeperOfPorridge He's an unfunny tosser. Sorry, Porra.

  • I HATED this show, but I still watched it for the theme tune.

  • I just found a photo on the web of Mark Twain when he was about 15 years and he looks EXACTLY like Jim Davidson. SPOOKY.

  • lol yeahhhhhh dad must be in tonight i hear that funky tune,

  • I wouldn't even go so far as top say Dr. Who is worth watching. Since they decided to bring it back onto television it isn't remotely close to being as good as the ones that I grew up with! I agree with BossRoss999 over everything else he typed though. Well almost. We don't have talent shows on television, we have LACK OF TALENT shows!

  • @fatg1t but dr who is WAY better than all these crap talent shows and i see you liked the old dr who's who was your favorite dr from the older shows

  • Billering you Billering you Billering you TONIGHT, BIG BREAK!!

  • This is good right up until 0:23...

  • I used to love watching it :) around the 90's

  • Oh how I long for the 90's....*sad face*

  • jim davidsons gonna be beating his wife beating his wife tonight BIG BREAK.

  • lol quality... whenever I'm playing FIFA online and a loser quits mid-game in a strop, i always instantly think of the beginning of this theme "it's only a game..." lol

  • My childhood was spent watching this :)

  • "Commentators eye"!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Say goodnight J.V!

  • Ahh good memories of watching this with my dad. Nowadays he doesn't care about me much, I wish It was the 90's again.

  • @HarlotEffect93 That's sad ;(

  • This was awesome. Bring back Big Break! Bring back hanging!

  • just makes me wanna watch the whole program....

  • Well said :)

  • Ah, this was a quality show. Good, clean fun for the whole family, rather than everyone in separate rooms with their own separate televisions watching their own preferred brand of reality or soap drivel.

(IMO good-natured Virgo balanced out twattish Davidson nicely.)

  • I remember watching this not understading it because i was little when this was on BBC

I was 3 4 5 years old when this used to be on telly

I wish they could do this show now Maybe with a different host

  • @Footbalcrazychocomad

345 yrs old!! hehe sorry :)

  • @veryvickers i think you know i mean i was 3, 4 and 5 when i saw someone watching it

I wish this show could be on now with a different host

    I think 1980's 2000's gameshows are better than 2000's and 2010's

I remember seeing better ones on ordinary telly on a Saturday night when i was a little child

Gameshows now-a-days are mostly on at teatimes in midweek now

  • Pot as many balls as you can.

    :D

  • @youdevvy .. in the dourest accent possible.

  • Not a fan of Jim Davidson personally, but I loved this!!!!!

  • If you don't like Jim Davidson fair enough. But be greatful that Lord Virgo is on it, he made this show the legend that it is, not Jim. :D

  • Jim Davidson is a freemason elitest cunt.

  • great show...

    Shame about Jim Davidson.....

  • Comment removed

  • @supahdupahguy81 shame about him? what you on about, Jim Davidson is quality!

  • @Tur1883

If by "quality", you actually mean "twatty", then yes i agree....

  • Nick nick!

  • snooker was boring but this show made it brilliant

  • OMG THE MEMORIES.

  • a 90s tv channel would just remind me of how dross the tv is today, its full of sycophants

  • Can someone post the clip of jim davidson shoving the cue up Virgos arse, and virgo sticks the spider up Davidsons nose.

  • What a superb show. Jim Davidson is no longer around because the thought-police evicted him. You authoritarian bastards who cry 'racist' should be ashamed. Regardless as to whether you find a person's view tasteless or wrong, that view should be heard and should be tolerated.

  • RACIST!!! I preferred Jim Bowen

  • Wow this reminds me of watching this with my parents when I was a wee lad, not any more thought im 26, blimey!

  • pervert intro

  • @rocksoliddude1 How is this show's intro perverted?

  • @AidanLunn he's really singing about sex games and bondage with jim davidson

  • @rocksoliddude1 Not likely seeing as this was sung in 1984, 7 years before this show started.

And it is just an innocent song about snooker. I think you're reading into this song just a tad too much.

  • @AidanLunn it was a joke actually you'll find everyone makes fun of jimmy davidson

  • @rocksoliddude1 I can't argue with that.

  • I can't believe this shit used to be primetime television

  • Great show bring it back

  • @brownleerfc Yeah, why did it end ?

  • aahhh the perfect saturday night winter night line up this at 5:30pm

    gladiators at 6pm

and finaly noels house party at 7pm

and look at what we got now 3 bloody hours of crappy talent shows on a saturday night the only best thing to watch on a saturday night now is dr who

  • @BossRoss999 Agree with everything in this post. Saturday was always the main and most enjoyable night on tv when i was younger, 3 or 4 top shows and Match of the day to finish. Lovely! It's total tosh now, which is a big pity. Would love to see a channel show all of the old classics on a saturday-Noel, Big Break, Bugs, Superman, Gladiators and many more. Call it BBC Retro!!

  • @redfowlham challange tv still show the original gladiators now on weekends at 12pm on satuday and sundays now they use to show big break on challange aswell a few years ago but i agree they should have a channle for things like house party

  • @BossRoss999 I remember Saturday early evening on BBC 1 was Dr.Who starring Patrick Troughton, followed by The Monkees, then Dee Time with Simon Dee & his guests, then Dixon of Dock Green, starring Jack Warner

  • @BossRoss999 R.I.P to the good old days eh! i hate the tv we have today, and i remember the tv licence costing alot more less back then lol, we pay more today and its even worser what they are showing!

  • @ismaelkhan i agree the money is just beaing mostly spent of crappy talent and reality shows because they think everbody likes them apparently and apparently the old shows like big break would cost more to produce now than they did before and talent shows are cheaper to produce

  • @BossRoss999 oh well what can ya do about it, im sure you can remember the good old days when it was analouge tv channel 1-4 nicam stereo/fastext :) haha i miss those days so much.....back then it was what is was just plain and simple which is what made tv so great to watch, now there's just too much to deal with so the x-factor can kiss my arse! least i'll save some electric ;)

  • @ismaelkhan hahaha same here i don't know why people even watch the x factor and they say its for all the family to watch

  • @BossRoss999 is it **** lol ball's to it, i may only be 25 yrs of age but im very old fashioned which most of my family cant understand but what the hell - i gotta be true to myself.

  • @ismaelkhan don't worrie im 18 and i like alot of tv shows like the two ronnies steptoe and son alot of the old comedys

  • @BossRoss999 True that

  • @BossRoss999 u know that, i used to go hyper when gladiators started

  • @BossRoss999 just what i thought! the old gladiators, family fortunes and brucies generation game. not to mention old cilla with bli-inddd date!!! what we got now?? 'take me out', s ahit rip off and fucking xfactor.

  • @BossRoss999 Indeed...i tend not to watch current television anymore lol.How has this show not been uploaded onto Youtube?Along with all the other great shows that used to be on?Gladiators..Family Fortunes (with Les Dennis)...Bullseye...all super smashing great and nowhere to be seen in full episode form..

  • @MrJayel27 there are a few episodes of thoes shows in full on youtube but not many

  • @BossRoss999 God, you have just brought back so many memories of a saturday night when i was a kid.The Generation Game with jim davidson was my favourite.

  • @Marilyn1795 i must admit i never watched that show i mainly watched you've been framed, big brake gladiators and noel's house party i don't remember watching the generation game

  • @BossRoss999

Literally the best comment I've seen on youtube, I'm 22 and this brings back such great memories of saturday nights watching tv in the living room with my family, well trousered!

  • @hornswoggle182 im 19 and i just wish that programs like would be back on tv i am not intrestd in all these soppy reality and tv shows when all my other friends watch them i mean who wants to watch someone that is a huge fix and put on and act like babys if they don't get through ztleast when we had shows like gladiators and big break it was all about taking part and having fun

  • @BossRoss999 it will be back on tv 5:30pm Saturdays and Sunday nights from Next week on Challenge.

  • @channel4squares1 seriously?!

  • @BossRoss999 yeah, they've started on Saturday (Cult Classics) Vs. Sunday (Modern Monsters) Big Break starts at 5.30

  • OMG! I remember watching this when i was younger with the fam at dinner time :) Brings back good memories

  • Jim Davidson and John Virgo aren't exactly the funniest people in the World, but that was the whole point: Big Break worked because it was presented by berks, it was that kind of show. Clive Everton and Steve Davis would have bored us all into a Saturday evening slumber.

  • they should bring this back.

  • i used to watch this with my papa how i miss this show and him, great upload brings the memories back, dont make shows like this anymore, bullseye was a winner also :)

  • im gonna be snookering u tonight... sexual much??????

  • @webstersafc No.

  • YOU CAN'T BEAT CLASSIC BRITISH TV

BIG BREAK & BULLSEYE BEST GAME SHOWS OF THE 90'S

  • I'm only a raaaaaaaaaaaaaciiiiiiist

  • I'm only 17 so i only vaguely remember big break but i remember loving it whenever i watched it, and all i have now are just these clips on youtube! If they're afraid that snooker isn't as popular as it used to be and the need to get people interested again then they should start by bringing back Big Break! Start with a reality tv show, that's what people like to watch nowadays! Get people interested with Big Break and the sport might get more popular again! That's my opinion, anyway (:

  • @HereComeTheDrums42 im 18 and i use to love watching this show but one of the reason the bbc won't do programs like this and noel's house party again because they are worried it won't be as good as it use to be and it would be a wast of money

  • @BossRoss999 That's true, but imagine what the show would be like with the likes of Mark Selby, Mark Allen and Neil Robertson on it? And if Ronnie were to be on it again? As well as some of the legends. I think it won't be exactly the same as before, but i'm sure they would make it very entertaining and different in a good way (: I just really want it to be back on tv :L

  • @HereComeTheDrums42 i know i don't understand why this countrie has gone fame made atleast with things like this, noel's house party and gladiators you could have such a briliant laugh on a saturday evning with no swaring and no compation but not anymore

  • What is this

  • @ivanm333 obviously a snooker game show or maybe its a football game hmmmm lol

  • ideal for making love to

  • fucking BRING BACK BIG BREAK!!!

  • Intro music done by Captain Sensible, what a guy!

  • This brings back memories. I loved Big Break as a kid and I still love snooker now.

  • hahahaha i remember watching this show sitting up with my dad when i was a kid my dad was mad about snooker ohh how i wish classic saturday nights should returne

  • fucking legendary show

  • Ahhhhhhhh back in the days, Saturday nights, starting at 5:30 Dads Army Big Break The Generation game then Casualty. Why the hell is TV just total shite these days.

  • i sing this to the lads at work they think iam mad.... i am

  • if it wasnt for this show, I wouldnt be into snooker. thank you big break <3 haha

  • THOSE WERE THE FUCKING DAYS, MAN!!!!!!!!!!

  • class intro like i was like 6 when this started

  • @19189073 dadidb

  • 90's was the best

  • @unimployed *90s

  • Ha ha ha I used to love Jim Davidson and John Virgo my mum hated him and used to curse whenever this came on the tv ITS ONLY A GAME SHOW BIG BREAK. x x

  • dya reckon its sad that a 15 year old has grown up watchin repeats of this sort of stuff and loves it or would you say i was very different and thats a good thing??!!

  • lol i can remember watching this in the pub like Georgiahulse

  • I used to love this. I wish it was back on.

  • I can't beleive Big Break is that old! It was only on TV untill not too long ago.... or was it now?!! I'm not sure.

  • @bmused55 Time seems to go much faster these days...

  • i used to watch this in the 90s with the DAD ha amzing

  • I went into a pub the other day (it was a real locals pub), and it was like stepping back in time to the late 80s/early 90s. This was being played on the tele, there were people playing snooker and darts, everybody getting on together and not being rowdy. It was a real close, community-like pub. It reminded me of a kid when I used to sit in the corner with dad, with me panda pop and salt and vinegar crisps.

  • Omg memories de ja vu just there!! lol.

My dad used to watch this in the 90s lmao!!

    Good ol youtube.

  • Back when this country was still Great..Now x-factor, reality show shallowness.

  • BlindfoldedParrot I agree with you, but Dr Hill is not the most insipid ie ant dec, scott mills, scholfield etc etc

Anyway dont get me wrong UK is still the bestest :-)

  • It's a shame, because for every genuinely good show (Duel and The Cube, just to name a couple from these last couple of years), there's been some right crap, mostly involving Amanda Holden.

  • spot on

  • too right mate....

  • @corkoram id like 2 smash every gay little x factor contestant to peices FAGGOTS!

  • @corkoram This isn't exactly cultural depth, mate.

  • @ursie1986 haha, Its only a game son, so put up a real good fight..Back when men were men and women had blind date.

  • @corkoram Ha. That's a moral message and a half!

  • this has been my head for years

  • haha me too - just now

  • I've banned my friend from singing this whilst I break. Last time the white ball went straight into the middle pocket. He laughed so much he tripped over the couch.

    Bastard.

  • I would have split him with the cue

  • This brings back a lot happy childhood memories for me.

  • Saturday night TV on the Beeb was great back then. Dads Army on at 5, Then Big Break, followed by Brucie and the Gen Game, finaly Noels House Party.

  • The best line up of saturday evening TV

Nowadays apart from Dr Who and Robin Hood there's nothing else worth watching

  • @bryemycaz

you're not wrong mate. i remember them too. all went a bit pair shape sort of 1996 onwards :/

  • Absolutely awesome!

  • I used to like Big Break AND The Generation Game (I was about 6 years old) before I realised how much of cunt Jim Davidson is.

  • @Tetrisrock jesus christ! You're me!!!!!

  • @MrSoprano0125

    and me :)

  • @Tetrisrock ditto

  • @Tetrisrock I used to love this until I found out Jim Davidson was a disablist cunt!

  • @Tetrisrock LOL!

  • @Tetrisrock same here

  • @Tetrisrock Same here

  • @Tetrisrock Amen to that.

  • @Tetrisrock WHY DO U SE FOUL LANGUAGE

  • @Tetrisrock Did you know Jim Davidson can't handle his drink.

  • @Tetrisrock I'm not a big fan of Jim Davidson (he's not funny in the slightest) but I feel he was no worse than most 'stars' from his era. The BBC nowadays like to brainwash it's viewers with multicultural propaganda to the point of abuse. I am in no way racist, but I see a lot of BBC programming (especially children's TV) as a vehicle for it's political agenda. All the best, Ned.

  • I used to like this show :D I have shamed myself...

  • Comment removed

  • BRING THIS BACK!!

  • I was only very young when this was on but it kept me amused for hours. Still can't play snooker though... :D

  • i can't believe the nation used to watch a show about snooker. great show though.

  • @spencercba6

It was more about the drama of whether the best contestant would draw the no-hoper snooker player out of the bag. Whereas some thickhead would get Stephen Hendry.

  • Used to LOVE this show!

  • This and Gladiators made my Saturday evenings great to watch. I miss the 90's :(

  • I remember loving this when i was about 8 or 9 years old. Virgo's trick shot was the best!

  • Brilliant show! Sad thing is, if they did bring this back, I doubt Jim Davidson would be back on it, considering the political correctness brigade hate him

  • its not political correctness-people simply dont find him funny. Because hes not

  • This theme song's amazing.

  • they should bring this back :D

  • lol, I remember this, I don't remember his entrance being so weak though, nice thumbs up jim.

  • i bet jim davidson used to knock his wife about to this music whilst wearing a thong........cockney pisshead.

  • That's the post of the thread. Talentless cockney nob. Still....
