sure mass effect isn't the best shooter or has the best graphics but it is the best game ever and those who think not just don't understand the game i mean the story is very unique no game will ever top the mass effect games in 100 or a thousand years.

P.S. i typed this as the song was on and i felt really cool and now its over and i feel retarded for writing this but oh well mass effect is the best in my opinion.

@thebestizboy I'm a huge mass effect fan, i love the game. But unique story??? Everything in Mass Effect has been done before. Even Bioware made the Star wars games that play exactly the same as this . Its fantastic and amazing, but it's not unique. Even Bioware said that Shepard is a rip off of that guy from Battlestar Galactica and most of it is taken from Star Wars or Star Trek.

@justin26UK I can see the star trek references, but star wars? What on earth? There is nothing from star wars in ME, they are completely different genres.

And ME isn't very original in its over arching story, but its relative realism, its huge universe and back story and its completely unique characters are what make it special.

@XtremeGoose have you played the Knights of the old republic star wars game? It was pretty much an early version of Mass Effect just set in the star wars universe. The game plays identical.  Mass Effect may not be like Star Wars in plot but its universe is similar with the mixes of aliens, people and robots etc. I love ME but it's all been covered in other sci-fi. I wouldn't call the characters unique.. an assassin, a soldier, a scientist, a tactician etc etc.

@XtremeGoose Plus Saren was a rogue spectre gone bad which has been done to death, including with darth vader. The reapers are pretty much the elder gods from HP Lovecraft. It's nothing new. But thats not a bad thing, most huge universes draw on influences from other works. Mass Effect is a blend of sci fi, literature, pop culture and comic books. They put it together spectactuarly but for almost every character I can tell you where it's been done before.
