Reading IWCP tonight that someone has written to DEFEND Mr Pugh and to say that the councillors who perpetrated the complaint against him should pay costs out of their own pockets...I despair!

Had any 'normal' working person behaved in the way Mr Pugh did (set up or not) they would have been dismissed for gross misconduct. With 500+ jobs to go we would not be wasting time and money on this if Mr Pugh had shown professionalism and dignity his role demands.

What we have is a situation where a council are withdrawing funding from charities who are supplying essential services to vulnerable people, but if those charities dont supply those services the council will have to fund them entirely. The council have an £11 million hole in their budget. The council are run by a Chief executive, on £160K, and the the leader of the council (the foul mouth thug in the video) these two are responsible for the financial situation the council are in.

Yet if the leader of the council had of been abusing the Chief Exec, rather than the Islands MPs partner as he is in the video, we, the tax payer would have to pay the Chief Exec a quarter of a million pounds to leave. Basically we are funding all this bullshit from these incompetents, yet there is a big cover up of this thug shouting his mouth off but if it was you or I we would have been in court for doing the same. I do however share your reservations on reports in Gazette as it is clear that the Ed's personal involvement in this means the reporting appears more subjective which detracts from the real issues at stake and gives it the sense of a second-rate soap-opera.

I don't personally know any of the parties involved but I do want what is best for the Island. It is a wonderful place to live (for all its faults!) and I see Mr Pugh and his team destroying it destroying it.
