I'd have to say... from what I've seen.... I'm not impressed. The only thing I think this movie has that MIGHT be better than Dragonball: Evolution is the fact that they made Roshi AWESOME! In the original anime, they had many stories for the Dragonball's creation. This can be one of the stories that explain their creation, even if it is wrong. Because if I recall correctly, Roshi told a story o how the Dragonballs were made, yet it wasn't true. It was something like "The world had one huge Dragonball, and evil eventually came out when people wished evil things upon it. Then it was scattered to seven balls and sent all across the world" or something. That'sall before Kami appeared.

hmmm point taken, still we're debating which version is closest to the anime/manga, right? since it's a movie based on dragonball, and since the 7 dragonballs were created by Kami, i think the movie should prioritise that, instead of "OMFG SEVEN MYSTICS" xD regardless of Roshi's knowledge on the matter (even though in the trailer he's the one telling the story) in the end i think it might be too soon to conclude anytihing but one is sure, the characters and the plot are somewhat wrong

When this movie was made, DGB had not as symbols sayans and kamehameha's. DGB was at the base a manga made of chinese legenends. Like son goku, the ape boy with his size changing stick. Now I need to agree, this movie is pretty poor compared to the manga.They proved at that time, that dragon ball is not good to make movies of it ^^ But I kinda like the special effects that were made at that time :)

Vegta is more the group name plant (as a vegetable is only the edible part of a plant). Piccolo is a kind of flute. Namek got instrument names. Sayajins got vegetable or plant names. Freezakindrace got names that refer to coldness. Every name in dragon ball refers to something common. Broly=brocoli, raditz =radish, kakarot=carot buruma (aka bulma) =panties kuririn (krilin) =curry etc
