  • Equinox+Faenza is way much better than steve job's defecation that is Aqua.....and its free

  • If you like the aqua theme why dont you just buy a Mac instead of being a secret mac fag. Using this theme is like being gay in secret

  • while it's a good bit of work, I like the tutorial as it makes it very clear on how to do it. nice work

  • yep... just i suspected, didnt work. FUCK this OS, every single thing ive tried to do on it doesnt work. is it just me or is this os completely fucking useless? i cant even install compiz, what a fucking load of shit. no wonder its free. tried this on 11.04, having to many problems with it, will give it another try after i downgrade to 10.04, thanks for the vid, ill give it a go on my other laptop running 9.10 see if that works any better, so far having nothing but trouble with ubuntu.

    sudo apt-get autoremove wine

  • hey i can't get Google Chrome to look as if it was on mac can u help?

  • Thanks m8 it helped

  • Ubuntu Tweak is a much easier way of changing the start-here logo.

  • dude the Gnome App bar didnt change. i dont know how.

  • @xXGhostChuyXx what version are you running?

  • @PC4LinuxFreak 10.4

  • @xXGhostChuyXx Check if you're getting an error on your themes screen. Something with GTK? Not sure... but there is another version that it is out already. I'm running 10.10 now and I installed Macbuntu which cuts down on editing a Mac logo and adding a dock, it installs everything for you. Do the same, extract it and run the terminal script, just google Macbuntu and download it from sourceforge, net

  • @PC4LinuxFreak alright thanks bro im gonna download it, im running 10.10 on my Inspiron mini. see if it works.

  • The new updated one is called Macbuntu

  • Why would you want to uninstall WINE? How will you run Windows programs without it?

  • doesnt work for unbuntu 10!!is there other way?

  • @styleXtream you mean 10.10? I havent tried it yet.

  • @PC4LinuxFreak : there new step in 10.10..before selecting *******.sh file.we need to right click on this .sh file and in permission tab give access.than all is smooth..

  • @PC4LinuxFreak .04 as well. Install it manually.

  • I run Ubuntu on my Toshiba laptop. I've installed it on my Vista today and I've already gotten used to it! Love at first use!

  • If you can go too my channel to see the new mac theme. Its really easy to install

  • i cant seem to find the folder that lets you change the gnome icon with the apple icon please tell me were i can find it

  • @TheUbuntuUser101 Google "Apple Logo png" and make sure it is a png with a white background. Make sure your downloads go your Download Folder or you have it to where it downloads to your desktop. Hope that helps.

  • thanx dude, i'd being trying that for somuch time

  • @sinlocu no problem!

  • You can use F2 to return, after you select a file.

  • @BrinkOnEdge thanks!

  • @PC4LinuxFreak Np, I meant rename though.

  • my icons are the same :(

  • It works! Thank you so much!

  • Hey my top panel disappered what do i do

  • @Sonicrulz12 Never happened to me... not sure how that happened.

  • how do you get the bottom pannel back?

  • @CravedTutorials you can uninstall the Cairo Dock the same way you installed it. Go to Ubuntu Software Center and type Cairo selected uninstall. Then head to your desktop and on the top menu bar right click and select add panel. Right click on the new panel and select properties, head over to position it to the bottom. Right click the panel again and select add to panel. Scroll till you see an option to add switching windows, this will add the option to select windows once they are minimized

  • @PC4LinuxFreak thanks

  • subbed, im gonna try mint tho this is my first serious attempt at linux

  • @vanilkachill Thanks for the sub bud! And yeah! Mint is a derivative of Ubuntu so ALL Ubuntu software works with it too. I tried it, but just felt like I was cheating on Ubuntu haha.

  • Lol

  • An error occurred, please try again later.

  • why would i want my pc to look like a mac???

  • @IRNatman So you get the same thing without paying thousands of dollars for it.

  • @IRNatman I make these tutorials to show what can be done with Ubuntu.

  • definitely best tutorial i've found for mac4lin. I don't understand why others upload videos stating you gotta go to terminal type this and that rather than doing what you just did with the sh file you explained. Very thorough and resourceful. Thank you for your help. I was struggling all week and looking all over the net trying to find how to make my beast look like a mac :D. Quick question though, how do I change my boot up and login to the one of a mac?

  • @SpartanCarlimus There is a way to install a login splash screen that looks similar to Mac's. Just google it and you should find links on it. You might want to install "Art Manager" in order to control your theme. From there you can active your splash screens with a single click.

  • absolutly fantastic, simple, and well explained!! thank you very much!!

  • @chobson1989 no problem!

  • Could you PLEASE just upload the edited version? Would be so much easier for us.

  • @gofudgeyourselfx I appreciate your opinion, the video was intended for those who actually want to do this. What's fun about linux is that you can do whatever you want with it. It's free in every way and people should enjoy it that way.

  • duuud thx u da best!!!!!!!!!

  • @JESMProductions4 no problem! =D

  • great tutorial, very easy to follow.

    thank you

  • @Mobius1acNo problem! Thanks! Don't forget to thumbs up! =)

  • @PC4LinuxFreak I went through the whole tutorial, but i have a question regarding the cursor. even after the restart, the black mac4lin cursor only works once i move it onto say a firefox window and not on the desktop or other system folders. was wondering if you have any idea of how to remedy this?

  • @Mobius1ac yeah experienced the same, for some reason it keeps going back to the default. I still need to look into that. Maybe is the way the cursor was packaged. Finding an alternative version online might work a little better.

  • @PC4LinuxFreak

The mouse only changes on restarting the pc.

  • @xellink the mouse is the only problem, it works with some windows/programs and at times it goes back to the original Ubuntu one. I'm not sure exactly why that is.

  • @PC4LinuxFreak

by any chance are you using emerald? See, Linux is good even without emerald. Compiz is good enough. Having compiz without emerald will solve your problem. =)

another workaround is to edit "/etc/sysconfig/windowmanager", and replace the X_MOUSE_CURSOR= value to your preferred mouse theme (The theme should be in your /usr/share/icons folder).

    Restart X. good luck.

  • @Mobius1ac Pretty sure it has something to do with compiz fusion if you have it installed. This might help: ubuntuforums . org/showthread.php?t=284915&highlight=mouse+cursor+theme+gdm

Yeah, I know it says 'Howto customize your GDM mouse cursor', but basically what it does is change your default cursor to the Human cursor. Change the index.theme file to reflect the location of your Mac4lin cursor and it should work fine for this though.

  • @ GlobalGameNL GIMP is a Photoshop alternative and yeah, you can resize the icon. But the largest you can go will be 96 x 96 pixels. What do you mean you can't find one? An Apple logo? Google "Apple Logo PGN" (with out the quotes) and download an image that has a white background. To download GIMP go to Applications in the far left corner and down to Ubuntu Software Center and type GIMP, you can install it from there. Any other questions feel free to ask, hopes that helps... and subscribe!

  • with what program can i resize the apple logo??? cant find one..

  • LOL I am, I try and try to get rid of it haha oh well.

  • You have an accent. Are you Hispanic? Not trying to be bias just that you sound Hispanic.
