I see ppl complaining about where to get samples from.Saying retarded shit like if you don't sample vinyl you're not "real".It doesn't matter where you get a sample from.To me what matters is what you do to the sample.How you chop it.How you can manipulate it with the pitch or a filter on your MPC.Whatever sampler you happen to use.So sephardimm is just being biased.On some elitist shit.Cats like Premo,Madlib,J Dilla,Pete Rock and Kev Brown all have mastered the art of sampling.
I think its whack to sample those compilations. Yall wannabe producers are just lazy mfs. i get up at 4 am to get my breaks and I swear, I got some breaks that you greedy mfs wont find on any yt video nor a blogspot, that shits ruinin samplin, its like coloring after numbers...
@sephardimm I feel what you are saying, and I respect your hustle, but in some cases, like myself, we gotta roll with what we can do at the time. I do buy vinyl and do it that way. But Record Stores, at least here in AZ dont have the wide variety as say, a record shop in the Chi or NY. So, sometimes I have to do it the "lazy" way. And i can bet you people who do it this way have found breaks and samples you cant even imagine.
The only problem I got is, that the samples/tracks get overused. Its not a really rare compilation and I can go digging on the german fleemarket and get even some private pressing shit, 5 copies were made and there is a real great drumbreak on it, but I won't show. Nowadays producing sucks, cuz too many people rocking the same breaks... I'mma disappointed at this point. Man, I even ask complete strangers for vinyl, if they look like havin vinyl xD Vinyl is my lifeessence.
