It was the blue and white turbo Mustang that had a hood scoop like a nitrous car. It was a very clean roll, just half a turn onto the lid and then it slid to a stop. It never hit the wall. I think they had it fixed and racing in 1 or 2 weeks.

Was this a Fun Ford Weekend race at Atlanta Dragway? I'm having a hard time remembering, but I think I was at this event.
You're right. If I remember correctly, a lot of drivers had trouble keeping their cars tame that day.

I believe Chuck Samuel put his car on the lid in the finals that night.
Damn! I left that afternoon to head back to NC. Was Samuels driving the Escort or the Mustang?
