Did anyone notice that one of the default names for you is GARY and one of the default names for your rival is ASH and not the other way around?

Yellow is Ash

REd is Red

Blue is Blue or Gary The anime is LOOSLEy based off the games.

Ash is an anime-only character that was made to resemble RED, BLUE is actually a female that was captured by the Masked Man with SILVER, GREEN is actually BLUE from the English games, and Yellow is a female that was sent by GREEN to fin RED after he went missing. GREEN and BLUE were the only characters who had their name changed during the translations into English.

Whats the difference between the Red Version and the Blue Version? Is there any real difference at all?

@tatomuck18 there are certain Pokemon that can only be caught in each version. Like Mankey, Ekans, and Oddish can only be found in Red and Meowth, Magmar, And Bellsprout can only be found in Blue. There is many other pokemon that can only be caught in one or the other versions.

DUDE i did the same thing! beat the game with just charmander! i mean, i had some HM slaves, though i didnt call them that, but charmander was the only one i used for fights! (and char's evolutions, of course) and with blue version, too!

Alright to end all this confusion Nintendo DS and DS Light systems will only play GameBoy Advance games, Nintendo GameBoy Advance will play all GameBoy Games. The new Nintendo DSi system doesnt have the gameboy slot anymore so it wont play any gameboy game.

I don't know if this is ironic are whatever, but I got the blue version at my grandmother's house, and I defeated the Elie Four years later in the house, I was so happy. the pokemon games are so fun.
