though I know better than to have a "fav" move....the one I like the most from you since I bought THIS VERY vid in 95'....is the pop-up! Used it in a VERY real training drill. Total success! Thank you Christophe
This looks like a video from the "Underground Streetfighters Association" that is distributed by TRS Direct. The techniques in this video look like they're effective, so I'm buying =D
I like this guy's casual style of talking but the editing of this clip is really weird. They go halfway then jump to something else. If that's the point I'm not sure why.
This was the video series I got from Chris! Haven't watched the videos in about 10 yrs now. Chris understands how to teach novices. Only thing I didn't like was him beating up on that skinny guy with the long hair. (Mike) :) The tiger antelope attack (one of the last techniques on the tape series Chris teaches) was DEVESTATING. I'd definitely use that in a fight.
combat jkd is still my favourite self defense video to this day, this is what guided me into the world of comhrac bas,all the answers i wanted where basicly in this 3 tape package, and i also own sammy franco and tony blauer material, and it is basicly the pop up/wedge....that they are showing you...cant deny it......
No joke, before Tony Blair's "spear" or Sammy Franco's "webbing" was the wedge, first brought to the public in Christophe's Combat JKD video nearly 15 years ago. Get a hold of it if you can and compare it to the trendy current programs...bearing in mind how old this one is and thus who learned what from whom. The knife combat guidance included in this program was worth the price of admission in my opinion.
Why call it jkd?

@shadjazz If you are truly intested in the answer to that: it is contained on the Real Answers DVD.

@kalipfs This goes way beyond what Vunak was doing and is not nearly as comparmentalized. None of the Sanlin Drills were known to Vunak

@DimebagVision Yes this was part of a package from TRS. I don't know if the Knife part is still included as it was a special bonus.
On XMA there is some up close knife defense and the rules that no one else seems to know.

This is a pormo to show parts of the very long DVD set. It's not meant to be a free instructional--it's meant to give you an inside taste.
christopheclugston 1 year ago
Okay, I wasn't paying attention so I didn't understand the intent.
I'm sure the DVD is great.

Dude check your spelling of promo? It could be misunderstood!
wirybigstef 1 year ago
@wirybigstef You got that right. It is indeed PROMO and not whatever typing mistake I made
christopheclugston 1 year ago
@theyoungcommander This is just a promo this is not the actual DVD. It's meant to give you some idea of what's on the DVD not to GIVE you the DVD

The straight blast is my all time favorite move in Comhrac Bas. And the Circle footwork: the BEST footwork I ever learned for self-defense.

@Eddiedjvendetta I am glad you grabbed on to the simplicity of what works and didn't go in for the complex is better syndrome
