  • @Killmatic5000

I suppose you can say the same about America and Canada. We wiped out most of our ecosystems in less than 500 years. Nobody starts cities on the savannah, they start on several costal areas.

  • do they hunt them in Africa?

  • thanks for vid its very good

  • Aren't you the guy from BIG CAT RESCUE?

  • @Hackiesacker007 Yup, I was at Big Cat from 2000-2008, and started and did their youtube page from Summer 06 to Feb 08. I wish I could have the views they get :)

  • @briczar22 I was a huge fan of your BCR videos!

  • @Hackiesacker007 THANKS!

  • wild dogs are great looking creatures but that thing your holding is a fluffy piece of shit

  • @drukqs2369 wow..brutal. :)

  • @briczar22 when he's right, he's right.

  • @glaxko2 The fluffy dog is sitting here near me. Good thing she can't read..cause she has a temper like a ..well like a fluffy poodle.

  • @briczar22 Ive probably eaten things heavier than her in a day

  • @drukqs2369 I laugh everytime I read you comment

  • god is in all creatures...

  • Common distemper (introduced through pet dogs and cats) and anthrax kills more of these animals than are killed by people. perhaps a program of inoculation may slow there dimise ?. These 2 disesaes kill many lion, hyenas, cheetah and lepords too. Anthrax can wipe out every animal that uses a water hole in a few weeks.

  • this narrator sucks

  • awww, these painted dogs are so cute, i totally agree they should be protected .. i think .. they're kind of rare !!!

  • My 7 pound dog can catch mice and bugs and has fury coat she ready for armagenden

  • awesome canids wild dogs be

    proud members of

    god's family

  • @karenfayekal gods a dog?

  • nice dogs but it seems like they are pretty much screwed, africans don't give a shit about wild animals, at least not about those less known and relatively unimportant for income from tourism

  • save the dogs!!!

  • PPL THAT THINK THIS IS ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING UR RONG GLOBAL WARMING DOESNT EXIST ITS JUST A GIMIC SO PPL CAN GET MONEY LIKE ON DISNEY CHANNEL

  • @keyrabuns69 If there are no rights or natural laws, then why shouldn't I live in the wild? Can't I buy a machinegun instead?

  • Amazing

  • BOOOORING

  • someday i might go to africa

  • White people probably made them extinct

  • @amasuEnd dumbass...

  • really a beautiful animal to be honest, but i guess humanity decided to makes them live alone, thus undomesticating the animal through the millenium.

Nonetheless its really a beautiful dog ffs !

  • Nice videos, short but informative...I like it :)

  • Wild dogs are doing just fine, thank you.

Numbers have rebounded and there is no population problem.

It has been learned that it was not human intervention that tested their numbers, but parasitic disease.

Thanks for your concern but, " Call off the dogs ! "

  • nonesense - there are farms

  • your dog seems nice :D tumbs up btw

  • youtube.com/watch?v=JO5CPhf4MWk

  • Human rights? Haha.

We're destroying the Earth! Nature is supposed to be in a balance!

When there is no more world, human rights won't matter.

(In Google Earth, if you have the application where you can go back in time, go back to 1930 and see the whole Earth from space. Then go to 2010. It's depressing.)

  • @phsycocat Your stupidity is depressing. If you are referring that the green parts are graying out, you are stupid as HELL. That's the goddamn quality. Check how it looked in 2008 and then at 2010. Now you tell me that it changed like that in two years. Yeah right, blow ME.

  • I JUST WANNA PET IT! :D But I think it would bite me lol

  • @Lugialover009 hehe..it will

  • a wolf is better .

  • pity, beautiful species.

  • dont save the whales ,

save the african wild dogs ffs

  • Looks very close to a Hyena.

Oh btw are Hyena and Dogs in the same family ? i guess so

  • @Xecutionner2K

The order (a higher grouping) is Carniovore for both, but hyena belong to their own family, and wild dogs are canines.

  • @briczar22 what cousins does this hyena have? i mean like lion and tiger is d same cat

  • @lennix25536 Feliformia

is their sub order.. meaning a larger group of family of sorts. So in that you have the cats (lions, tigers etc..), civets, mongoose, and a very close relative to the hyena is the aardwolf.

  • @Xecutionner2K they are more closely related to cats and mongoose

  • @Xecutionner2K Well, no i guess... Hyenas are cats and Wild dogs are apparently dogs :P

  • @Xecutionner2K Hyenas are a more of a cat species believe it or not they look more dog like but in fact they are more CAT like i know i didnt believe it either

  • @Xecutionner2K hyena = cat wild dog = dog/ same family = no

  • @Xecutionner2K Hyenas are actually Feliformes, they are more closely related to cats. Dogs are Caniformes which includes the dog, bear, raccoon and weasel families.

  • @Xecutionner2K i think hyenas are closer to cats then dogs but they are closely related to wiesels, atleast thats what i heard

  • @Xecutionner2K

The wild dog looks nothing like a hyena... hyenas are more related to the mongoose.

  • @Xecutionner2K

no they are not...hyenas are their own family...they are more closely related to the mongoose than anything else

  • "Pushed out by the population growth".

We always hear how many people are dying each second, if we believed in these organizations, we should think that there were almost no people left in the world. They forget to tell how many people are being born each day.

  • If you TO REALLY help the environment, you should ONLY contribute to organizations that promote planned parenthood, dispense free condoms, birth control pills, and protect the rights of women to control their own vaginas.

We are now approaching 7 billion people in this small planet. As it grows further, more and more trees will be chopped down to make rooms. Where do you stop?

  • @xake19 Nowhere. What do you want to do, genocide? GTFO

  • @xake19 OMFG. I totally agree with you. I'm tired of people complaining about the rat and feral pig populations and yet they aren't even controlling their own. Humans are the reason WHY rats and feral hogs became an invasive species. All in all, humans ARE the ultimate invasive species. It really pisses me off.

  • @xake19 so your sudjesting that we go on a killing spree? :D

  • good job in highlighting this important topic

  • nnn

  • Sounds like a science project for the honkey to get his A in the class. What happened to the Indians when they hunted for food and took only what they needed. I forget, they gave them beaver and first day of spring holidays in trade for a whole race being wiped out.

  • beautiful animals........its a shame that the human race destroys the whole planet with fuckin skylines in the dessert.

  • 3-5,000 left?? I wonder how humans will be able to rebound their populations.

  • Nothing but admiration for Lycaon pictus.

  • "eliminating sick and weak animals which help keep nature healthy"

so thats why americas so fat!

  • @spenceriguess fucking pussy..

  • Hahaha lol'd so hard :D

  • @kiren77 mate i hunt with dogs, i always have and i always will, its the best way. less cruel than shooting from my experience. yes i have heard of supermarkets, they are destroying local farmers, and no matter how much they try and hide that fact its true, personally i prefer my meat fresh. i can go out with my dog and catch rabbit hare deer and fox if there are too many about. how is it stupid when its the oldest most natural form of hunting? you would rather eat farmed meat than wild meat?

  • This is a wild dog. Not a pet. It is an endangered species. Your animals is not endangered. A honey badger might kill it, but thats about the worst that could happen.

  • @ArcolaBridge i have never seen a honey badger, this is britain, we have european badgers. and when you hunt with lurchers plenty of bad things can happen, barbed wire has killed alot of fast dogs.

  • Ive been a biologist since 1972. Wild African Dogs are awesome, totally. But dont ask to save them on such ridiculous claims. Mankind has a place in this World, & those who wish to conserve it MUST create preserves that allow for each species.

Further, they should do it with Value (that is . . . Money) not legislation. FORCE people to cow to the values you have enforced, and their reaction will only be to hate those values. . . . you are appealing to the WRONG human values.

  • @RnBramwell Great answer. This is the same approach that the Cheetah Conservation Fund uses. Not so much "Do this" as it is "let me show you how you can help"

  • Any stride towards conservation is worth the movement and more. When the movement is towards an endangered specie, the worth of movement is hundredfold and more.

There are only 3000-5000 African wild dogs remaining in the wild. Please support initiatives to protect the hunting dog from vanishing from the face of the Earth.

  • do they barke

  • LOL they look like heynas

  • it looks like a heyena

  • No they don't :/ I'm suprised by how many people think this. Hyenas look vaguely dog like but they don't look anything like wild dogs.

  • this was fascinating--- to see them up close

  • i want 1!

  • i would save most of the endangered animals in zoos soo predators dont kill them but no they have to put the most recognized or most popular

  • when you see tigers in the zoo they are really the most endangered out of most cats/mammals

  • i know but still i said the most endangered i didnt mean just one

  • Like this video. - Why save tigers (whom I love) and not these dogs? Think about it!

  • Thanks 4 ur quike responce,I love animals,i dont hate the wild dogs,it's just dat when i saw how they kill their prey,it luks very painfull specially when the prey is running inspite of already getting bitten by the wild dogs,& bleeding,& the wild dogs eating the prey alive from back while the prey is on run.I know dat wilddogs r not huge as Lions & tigers, but their way of killing makes me very shiver & it loos very very painfull as the prey is alive & running.I skip their hunting clip usually.

  • u just a sisi it all leads down to the worst.....DEATH simple the worst couldnt happen blood gushing and their being ripped apart while screaming and running in pain its life get used to it

  • yeah but silkybreeze that is the only way that the dogs can hunt. they arent big enough to strangle their prey so they kill it any way they can. plus, the wild dogs' way of killing actually kills the prey much quicker than lions or leopards do. they usually have to strangle their prey for up to 15 minutes. idk about you but i would not want to be out of breath for that long! and none of us have ever experienced either way of killing so we can't exactly know for sure which way is more "humane".

  • Actually, lions only choke large or dangerous animals before eating them. Wildlife TV programs show this method because it would upset people to see the reality that lions often just eat their prey alive, the animal dies of shock and blood loss.

  • so does it matter.

  • @geoden Lions usually only hunt large and dangerous animals. Occasionally they hunt smaller prey as lessons to cubs, but something like a warthog won't feed much. Thomson's are too fast. Impala aren't that big either.

  • But i hate the way the wild dogs hunt, they give lot of pain to the prey when they go for a kill.they eat and bite from behind whule they prey is alive & fighting every second to save their lives. If i was a prey i wud prefer to die getting hunted by a lion or Tiger, atleast they strike on ur neck and wait till the prey is motionless & dead,& then they start their meal.

  • read my comment on this video.

  • wow seriously if ur not a girl then ur just embarrasing urself...

  • When we fence them in we think nothing of it. When they kill livestock we call it "coldblooded murder". When we've slaughtered every last one of them it will be an "excellent day ''....T-T

  • hell yeah

    i agree with all you

  • video of the dogs in a ZOO

  • i think the dude in the vid should have fed that STUPID LOOKING Yap

Yap dog to the wild dogs...thats helping right?

  • He kinda lost me when he broke out the lap dog. Should of just left that part out.

  • for the ppl who think the opposite

    put it like this,

how would you feel if someone came in your house kicked u out and killed ur family nd possibly you?

    put it like that

you ppl who dissagre with me are just to blind to see whats going on in the wild

im not saying im a hippie or nuthin but i have res[ect for those animals cuz they can survive better us humans who supposedly have our "rights"

    Comment Part Two

    Done.

    Nuff Said.

  • Are you talking about Palestinians??

You have just described their situation

  • just people in general who think what i express and with others agree what i say also opinons on others.

  • @KandiManRavr2k8 You realise that humans are a predator right ? Lions hunt down families of a species all the fucking time.

  • lol all these people who say "human rights"....humans have no "rights". We make rights for OURSELVES, not for nature. If you don't want wild animals eating your live stock....don't live in the fucking wild. Its part of there environment, deal with it. Life isn't easy. Just like people who live in flood plains and on the base of a volcano.....don't come crying when your shit gets destroyed. Maybe you should of thought before you settled in a dangerous fucking spot. morons.

  • Hallelujah. Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • it makes alot of sense of what u say and i totally agree 100%

because these dogs and of our

"rights" these wild animals are being taken from their own envionment and the ppl who do dont give a fuck

untill they see whhats going on or if they really do care be a hypocrite nd say that they knew from the start

    its all bullshit

    Comment Part One.

  • @keyrabuns69 just like we constantly to this day try to rebuild our coasts and ports even though they're annually pummeled by natural disasters

  • @keyrabuns69 totally!!!!!!!!!!

  • Every single hunter in the world is from hell who don't let other animals like these beautiful painted dogs survive... (if your a little kid us humans are mammals which are mammals)

  • i saw a pack of these things tear apart an impala for breakfast lol it was incredible - i highly reccomend going to botswana if the opportunity arises

  • ive played with baby african wild dogs there so cute ^^

  • nothing wrong with hunting for food... its rich douche bags with too much money, guns that are too big, and cocks that are too tiny, that have to kill shit for "sport"

i'll never understand how anyone can derive "sport" from shooting something like... a bear, or a big cat, for instance, with a scoped high powered rifle. Sport would be going toe to toe with the animal with a bow&arrow, or a spear... THAT is sport... shooting an unarmed animal for no reason with a gun? thats just pathetic... rofl

  • Conservation is a very good reason to hunt and or allow hunting. You might try to do some actuall research on the subject.Hunters protect animals and their habitat.

These dogs need to be protected, but not at the cost of villagers and their livestock.Human rights to survival come before that of wild animals.

  • You could always say that a person shouldn't live near the vicinity of certain animals and predators that can eat their crops and/or livestock. The pendulum swings both ways. I planted crops this year and the deer ate most of it. Oh well, shit happens.

  • humanity destroying more... what els is new. i wish we could stop being complete idiots but it seems that we WILL consume untill there is no more wich will be our downfall.

  • Id breed this with a gorilla

  • I love african wild dogs it makes me really sad to know that they are endangered...

  • I wish that animals weren't hunted because many precious creatures have been extinct because of a bullet. I respect every animal, and I really feel disappointed when I hear things like this. They truly are beautiful.

  • i agreey if is seen an animal being hunted i hope the animal kills the hunter but if i did i wod grab the gun of him and shoot him dont care hunting/perching is wrong i am a veggy but animals shold not be hunted i hate people when the hunt if i seen a hunter i would grab the gun and shoot him so all the hunters out there your been warned fucking hunters go fuck each other

  • Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure you would.

I agree though, Hunters are a bunch of fucking scumbags.

  • Makes you realize how worthless our domesticated dogs are (few exceptions). They cost money, make messes, and over 90% couldn't survive on their own. They don't clean up our environment like wild dogs or coyotes.

What you have just viewed, now that is a real dog that I can appreciate. Makes me sick looking at these little poodle like dogs and how people treat them like children. They would eat you if you died in the same room and were left with no food.

  • Comment removed

  • mine catch food for me

  • uhh.... so would I

its called survival.. would you rather starve to death?

  • those cheetahs are amazing

  • Lol,than we must have a new politic mesage Cheney for dog food!

  • i think we should breed these dogs with pitbulls and dobermans....to create the worlds most kick ass dog..then we can train them to kill politicians and unleash them on the senate or white house.

  • lol awesome plan

  • care more bout your species yeah but who are we to decide that another living thing can't live no more...

  • My friend had a wild/painted/cape dog dingo mix that he got as a puppy that was born in quarentine, i met her when she was 1 and knew until she 4. She had the colors of the cape dog, and the motherly instics, but the short hair and ears of a dingo. She would play and look mean, but just playing, and LOVED babies and children, even tried to feed babies and kids the second 1/2 of her food :) Sweetest nicest dog Ive ever met, she even trained raised and protected his new puppy.

  • The humans DESTROY the world thats why we are killing there habitats and at the time we are killing animals (and animals are humans , they deserve life), no matter if you say you don't destroy the world you destroy it (by using the car or wasting paper , ect),we can't be like "TARZAN" RIGHT!!!

  • Humans are full of fail; we can look after ourselves.

  • Interesting.I think some people go a little too far, for sure. But for some, they view the human race as they would another species of animal sharing this planet. So as a species we are wasteful, and spread like that of a virus of sorts as we use up resources, and push all the other species aside. That said, a lot of animal conservation benefits the human race and makes for a healthier planet for all of us. And some see a reflection of how we treat animals to how we eventually treat each other.

  • Good point, but it is a fact that most humans simply don't act this way most of the time. Most conservation efforts around the world has ended in failure due to their inherent lack of economic incentive to the people that could have the greatest impact on them. Simply put a sense of awareness and willingness to conserve the environment is a luxury that most humans could not yet afford. I would say that fighting poverty, illiteracy and HIV is of much greater concern to the human race.

  • Yes, but with fighting poverty and running a good conservation program you come against the same thing. Corrupt goverments. And by conserving land you give yourself cleaner water, better air quality, possible cures for disease found in plants, a more blanced eco system, that we are apart of. All So VERY beneficial to the human species.

  • I can't agree with you more. I just want to point out that for a conservation effort to be succesful, it must be economically viable, i.e. brings in money for all involved. A lot of people are all for conserving animals and the ecosystem, but goes absolutely nuts when such measures as trophy hunting are mentioned.

  • When the hell did people stop being animals.....?

  • Never said that. But you should care more about your species than another one, should you?

  • ahh... you dont get it? By caring about wildlife conservation we are benefiting our own spiecies becous we are providing a more stable envirnment!

Personaly, I think the problem with the world is overpopulation! I think we should start controling birth rates!

  • Right you go tell the teenagers of the world to control their hormones WTF?

  • The problem is not with teenagers. Its with fully grown people in third world

  • That's what the Illuminati thinks too! you know what's next..."Too many people... Let's get rid of 'em." Does anyone else find the 4 or 5 comments above 105km, very sad, yet amusing?

  • I remember the '70's documentary, "The Wild Dogs of Africa" and I bought the based book, "Solo" by Hugo Van Lawick soon after. I wish they would air it again! That book made me cry. U_U

  • We humans are like Nature's disease.

  • yeah i think about that sometimes

    good post

  • not all of us, it's bad to generalize human...

  • we all are. just think about it.

  • It's a shame that humans would almost wipe out such a beautiful animal.

    love those big ears [:

  • In order to preserve predators in their habatat, you must increase the prey in the habatat. If the habatat does not have enough food, the less efficent predators will die out. Dont worry man, its nature working in its beauty.

  • You shouldn't speak of things unless you know about them. The wild dogs are the most efficient pack predator that exists. 7 of 8 hunts are successful. It's disease and the illegally shooting of these dogs that is endangering them.

  • Comment removed

  • least efficient?? these dogs are the best of the best. just been hunted to extinction by humans.

  • very dangerous

  • They aren't dangerous to people you douche. They show zero aggression towards humans.

  • we as humans

    are far more dangerous.

  • You are right.

  • Thank you so much for making this video. It feels good to know that there are people out there who care (and know so much) about African wild dogs. We must not let this amazing predator, which is so vital for the food chain in Africa, to die out. Otherwise, there will be havoc wreaked in ecological proportions.

  • Comment removed

  • *cuddles* They're so cute! And they make the most adorable little sound... they also kick ass, xD

We gotta make sure these guys don't die out. =]
