We really do need to grow up about UFO's fast - I think the fact that a major US news network ran a week-long special is a big sign that something is changing, and perhaps not to the schedule of the people who have been covering up this phenomenon for so long.

In my opinion, the subject has become associated with cooks and conspiracy theorists because of the ridicule involved. The years of ridicule and denial from the part of the government, in order to keep the truth hidden from the general public. We as a society, through years and years of denial from the part of the government, have become mentally conditioned to believe there's nothing to it. That it's all just crazy conspiracy theories. And it sure isn't.

Yes true, that and... Most people don't know they are believers when in fact they are.

Most people haven't looked at it this way, but the true definition of an extra-terrestrial is an intelligent being not of this Earth.

If you are a Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Mormon, etc.. you are admitting you believe in beings not of this Earth. Neither Demons, Angels, Djinns, Spirits, Ghosts, etc.. are earthly beings. Therefore any agnostic is a believer.

Absolutely, scavardaloaf! I remember the Christian prayer the Credo where it says "I believe in all things seen and unseen." And we know that for example, some UFOs can not be seen by the human eye (visible light spectrum) but by using an infra-red or other camera.

I believe the windows or the cameras (or both) on the Space Shuttle are fitted with such filters to allow the crew to see things not visible in the visible-light spectrum.

And we shouldn't forget the gnomes, trolls, fairies, etc. that our ancestors used to talk about. There is a possibility that they were people visiting from other planets or dimensions.

Actually, we probably should forget them for the time being and focus on the evidence at hand. Speculation only damages credibility and creates distractions. My advice is, speculate on your own time with your friends, but otherwise stick to cold hard evidence when speaking about such "fringe" and sensitive topics as these, ESPECIALLY to people who are overly skeptical.
