  • You can actually purchase Ghost Train from I-tunes if you're an I-Tunes person. I can't remember the name of the album, but is available as a single on an instrumental compilation alum of 60-ish surf music .... although "surf" was the furthest thing from our minds when we wrote this song in central New York State in 1964. Glad you like it. Amazing that it is still kickin' after 46 years. Regards, Otha Libby

  • Anyone in You tube land know where this track is available??? Vinyl disc, anything gotta have .....

  • @SpeedTriple59

You can get our song (Ghost Train) at I-tunes where it is included on an album called "The Ultimate '60s Surf Classics". It is cut #38. Glad you like it. We recorded it 46 years ago! signed..............Otha Libby, rythym guitar

  • If anyone is interested in seeing what The Swanks look and sound like today, visit "The Swanks Reunion - 45 Years Later" on You Tube for clips from a reunion performance on Sept 7, 2009.

  • Great !!!!

  • otha i am zach brown. steves son again. and i was just wondering if you ever heard from jack revelle again. my dad said he never heard from him after he ran away from the draft

  • Zach: Jack did not run away from the draft. He went into the NAvy and served in the Naval reserve. We still swap Christmas cards every year. I have only seen him 4 or 5 times since The Swanks days. I was passing through upstate New York in 1992 and spent the night with him, then saw him again in 1998 when I went back for a HS reunion. He still lives in Bernhards Bay, NY. I met up with Bobby Jones in California in October of 2007 and we now keep in touch via e-mail and Christmas card as well.

  • One of the best instros of all time !

    Swanks Rule !!

  • hi im zach brown, steve brown's son. he was in the swanks. he is a good friend of bobby jones, and tells me all the stories of when you recorded at mike rapozo studios. i was wondering why his name isnt metioned in where it said who recorded it. comment back!

  • Zach. When we recorded Ghost Train, Steve was not yet in The Swanks band. He was with us later when we recorded a demo record at Riposo's for the purpose of "synching" during a performance on the Bud Balou TV show in Syracuse. We had a greeat time during The Swanks' short run and I remember your dad fondly. Tell him hello, and tell him I had dinner with Bobby down in LA last Saturday night. Regards, Otha Libby

  • hi im zach brown steve brown's son. he was in the band the swanks and is still a good friend of bobby jones. it is amazing how you got the video on youtube!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It is not a problem to use the song. I just thought people who watch the video might want to know something about the band that recorded Ghost Train.I was 20 years old when we recorded Ghost Train. I am 62 years old now.

  • I am one of "The Swanks". Bobby, Jack, and I (Otha) recorded this song in 1964 in Syracuse, New York. We were recording a song written by someone else and we were doing our final rehearsals when we suddenly realized we had nothing for the "B" side of the record. We had no permissions to "cover" any copyrighted music so, in the space of about one hour, we composed Ghost Train, totally off the tops of our heads.
