I beleive it can mean either - In this case, it could be that she mocks the poets who encourage war, or it could be that she mocks the worms that she lies among, seeing as she is buried with them.

En 1981 notre prof de français nous a fait écouter cette chanson et nous chantions avec Boris Vian  " n`allez pas à la guerre" ." Après , j `ai bien compris qu`il essayait de nous apprendre quelque chose de plus qu`une belle chanson. Merci beaucoup, mon cher prof.

Dear friends, Did you know that the original lyrics of "le déserteur" are not the ones sung here or by other rekown versions of the song (Reggiani) and kindly translated by hs242: "If you go after me warn your police that I'll be unarmed and that they can shoot." Instead, the original words were (but were never recorded): "If you go after me warn your police that I own an arm and that I can shoot." The fear of censorship (10 years after the war) motivated Vian to make the change.
