I honestly thought that the use of their attire was intentional for the gameplay. It creates an atmosphere of utter frailty (notice uses of lace, silk and hosiery..all frail fabrics) that otherwise would be diminished if the character wore boots, cargo pants or if they just showed up prepared. It's another element of the fear. Plus we all know how hard it is to run in heels, makes her lack of speed more believable and makes the player feel that much more vulnerable.

Im really sad about the fact i can't read what's being said or done... The stories are so awesome and deep... Yea.. I want english subs :(

what is it with FF protagonists and being horribly inappropriately dressed for the occasion? well, apart from FF2 and 3 that is, what with the accidental and dreaming situtations. miku and ruka, on the other hand, voluntarily go into potentially life-threatening ruins at nighttime bringing only the the clothes on their backs. is it just me, or do these girls just deserve to get ghostraped? it's not like a daypack could've hurt their fashion sense...

@kaptenlemper I fee the same way; in FF1 and 4, the characters are deliberately exploring run-down, out of the way places and they show up dressed for an afternoon of strolling through the mall. They don't have camping gear; photographic equipment; a compass, or any thing else you would bring. Heck, this game's dynamic duo didn't even bring a flashlight for each of them!

I fear it was done for fan (dis)service. It's a shame, as it damages suspension of disbelief, which is critical to horror.

I just wonder though....why does Ruka and the others have to visit the place at NIGHT? o.o;; That keeps bothering me since...Fatal Frame 2 was acceptable since the place is cursed. (Night time forever) and same goes for Fatal Frame 3. Fatal Frame 1...Miku had to visit the place at night for some odd reason. o.o;;

I have played fatal frame 1,2,3 in jap...they are so awesome ...I own them to...I think i agree jap dub is better...it gives you the more  frigetning expiriance...lol...But i really wounder if fatal frame 4 will come to u.k....

i thought the third one was the best. idk, i just thought it was a creally cool story (the whole thing with the dream thing is awsome X3). and how they were able to get so many referances from the first 2 FFs. but, yes, the crimson buterfly is probebly the best considering the gameplay, storyline, location, everything XD along with it was the only ending out of the first 3 that i cried my eyes out at X(

Oe thing I hope (FF4 is out in the European stores) is that you can choose between the japanese and English kanguage. that's one thing I miss about the earlier FF's

ya it is out in Euro which is very odd considering they should know US wants it more. I think from what i remember reading, they (Nintendo) are having problems with something with the translating or moving over. SOMETHING is causing a very long delay which is very lame. Guess have to play FF2 and FF3 until it comes out.

you too huh? Actually, The FF-series did suck in ONE way (and yes, I am not pleased to say this since I adore this type of game) and that is the fact that the voices where all English.. I mean, look at Soul Calibur (a fighting game) there you have Japanese VO's, and English subs... Shouldn't be too hard to do, right?

Well, at least the English dubs got better and better...the original FF was *horrible* compared to FF3...I felt like they were trying to have a molasses effect with their voices. :P

Then it sucks Europe's getting it before the US does...in the fact that now there's the possibility of Ruka saying "Bloody hell!" with an over-the-top English accent when she's ghost raped or the herbal pill being replaced with fish and chips.

They haven't said if there will be a US release. There probably will be. I would guess sometime next year at the earliest.

I think I liked FF2 the most here cause of the fact that you can actually roam around freely and not just in buildings, but outside in the forest as well and stuff xwo

yup i definately agree! the best game out of all so far is still FF2 cause the walking and stuff gets worse and worse and it now looks like a silent hill game not an ff game. FF was unique cause it had the speacial sound that u get when u close doors that u just dont get anywhere else. and plus, who opens a door like that? who pushes it in front like wth -.- but still good game none the less im glad they made a continuation =D

-_- this game was made on the intent of it combining the looks of Eastern Culture into Japanese Culture, cecause of how they wanted this one in particular to look. The game takes place 10 years after the sanitarium was massacred ( by saying how would be ubber spoilerish) So if the issue took place in the 70's i think that a Japanese building would look like how this one does. Besides if you look at FF2, a lot of doors open forward....
