  • When I was 9 I threw 51 mph with the rest of my friends now were all throwing around 61 mph.

  • lisp

  • The man has a really good Point

  • 40 isnt even that fast for a 9 year old... these dumb soccer moms are too protective of their kids.

  • This is wonderful...dude you rock for making this video...I agree with you 100% it's a crying shame...I honestly and sincerely hope that Jericho is still playing and I hope that he's gotten better than ever

  • Its because he is black!

  • me too hahahah

  • near the end idk y but he sounded 2 me like seth rogen

  • people stop lieng no 10 year old throws 60 maybe on like the 20 ft mound lmao

  • l \/ thats bull

  • When I was 9-10 I was throwing 60.

  • wow 40 mph his is not good so hes accurate and throws 40 mph its bullshit thats not even fast

  • Watch short track (crazy speed) there are people in this world with strength that...

  • Hmm.. i was also extremly good artist who can draw a portraits of likeness of people infront of me when i was going to art school. well a lot of students around me dropped out of school simplely because they thought they could never compete with someone like me in real world. i still feel bad about that. here we are feeling bad for the kid because he couldnt play? Just look at the bright side. he made news story of sports illustrated no less. he should be proud of that. how many 9 year old can?

  • "well a lot of students around me dropped out of school simplely because they thought they could never compete with someone like me in real world. i still feel bad about that."

That's exactly what I'm talking about, unearned guilt. You didn't do anything except be good at something, for which there is no reason to feel guilty.

  • Hmm... i am not so sure about that. in little leagues its all about fair play. what if there was a mutant kid only 9 years old but 9 feet tall and he wants to play in little league basketball? i do feel bad for the kid. but..you have to have a limit i think in little leagues.USA worldcup soccer prodigy in 2002 was a 15 year old kid. can he play in little leagues? if you asked him to play in little league soccer team he will laugh at you.

  • So move the kid up of course, but for goodness sake, don't tell him he can't pitch! That's just evil, plain and simple.

  • i am a softball player so i dont know much about baseball but

this is wrong that that kid cannot play baseball for being "too good" that is like taking Shelby Babcock and not allowing her to pitch bcuz she is to good.

    wrong and stupid

    thats my opinion

  • I am from jerichos area so I know all bout this kid he is real good should be in AAU.

  • The vortex in the maelström of that 'unearned guilt' is 'original sin'.

This is also pointed out in The JohnGalt speech (I'm certain that you're aware of this MrBeethoven7; I'm just making sure you realize the magnitude of the adversary and, through the process of Induction, the correct response.

    (A $ A)

  • Ohhhh you bet. I considered mentioning original sin in the video, but decided to keep things more concretely tied to the specific baseball incident.

But yeah, nobody does unearned guilt better than the Catholics.

  • hes my freind

  • wow thts fukedup the ass

  • Great video. You've identified it as a great concrete for unearned guilt. It's a heart-shattering story. I hope Jericho's walls are strong!

  • My heart goes out to Jericho Scott. The kid excels at what he does and he gets punished for it. How fucked up is that? The kids of the opposing team that forfeited might as well wear diapers to their games because that's what they are, a bunch of babies. The parents need to be slapped too. The Youth Baseball League should be sued. Hell, if I was a lawyer, I'd represent Scott in a heartbeat. There is no rule limiting a pitcher to how fast he can throw. The YBL is wrong and they should pay for it.

  • Wow. You're so smart. Maybe I should start listening to Beethoven to achieve your level of thinking. And I won't feel guilty if I do by the way. lol. Nice Vid and I hope to see more in the future.

  • Great video. I totally agree with what your saying. That is a great quote by John galt in the book Atlas Shrugged. Ive heard it before and I definitely want to check out that book soon.

  • right on man

  • Destroying the world? Take a deep breath pal.

Keep in mind sports were invented to keep mens minds off of politics.

I think it's a good thing that he'll get a chance to stay home and do something more important than play a game ... Like study his school work.

  • I did take a deep breath, right before I read the quote, didn't you hear it?

And yes, unearned guilt is destroying western civilization.

I'm all for uh, children studying and learning of course. I don't know anyone against that. I am very against your notion, however, that children should "stay home," not go outside and have fun in the sun, and spend all their time reading.

  • The saddest part of the story is not that the kid feels sad -- its when every single kid on that other team packed up and forfeited! How can there not be one kid who wanted the challenge of hitting this pitcher that no one else even wants to play against. Its sad that there's no one brave enough to step up to a challenge!

  • Good point. My point was not so much about the kid feeling sad, though, as it was about him feeling guilty.

  • Excellent video!!!

  • You are right. Who is John Galt?

  • BRAVO!!!! I couldn'tve said it better myself. Thanks for the video

  • They are punishing a child for being to good at somthing. While the children that aren't good are getting rewarded for this. Whats this teaching kids today. If someone is better at something just get rid of him. Bottom line is if your child is afraid of him dont let your kid play. Dont punish this little boy because other children aren't as good. This entire league should be shut down if this is the mentality they instilling in todays youth. Jericho Scott has a gift why are others so jealous

  • For heaven's sake..let the kid play ball! His opponents will just have to accept that they will probably lose the game OR they can try their best to win. THAT is what sports is about. Then the poor little scared babies can play another team next week and try again to WIN. So typical of today's mentality...let's punish excellence and make everyone else "feel good". This self esteem BS has gotten out of hand. Losing prepares you for LIFE. remember: you win a few, you lose a few!

  • That's the same excerpt from *Atlas Shrugged* that inspires that talented basketball player in "One Tree Hill." Coincidentally, the character also had the last name "Scott."

That's a very appropriate quotation, of course. Indeed, the world he desired can be won. :-)

  • Nice to hear your take on this...good thought process. Jericho should be in a more advanced league, however, so he has more of a challenge. Nothing's perfect, hopefully all involved have learned from this.

  • You're absolutely right Beethovens7th. Seems that Jericho Scott's situation is what we see going on in this country: mediocrity is rewarded and talent and/or intelligence is attacked. This is an everyday occurrence, but now we are seeing one story hit the national news. As a nation, we need to reflect on why our high standards have taken a nose dive.

  • The plight of Dash in "The Incredibles".

  • That is exactly the first thing that I thought of when I read the story.

  • Hey, you got lucky... I was looking through videos and watched this.

I'm actually one of his coaches on his other team he plays on. I'll pass the word along

    Thanks

  • Wow, what are the chances? That's great, thank you.

  • Whoops, wrong screen name. Soitoldhimno and I are the same person just in case you hadn't already figured that out.

  • You duche bag. Half hearted research like yours is ruining the world, not sandbaggers like Jericho's parents. You have completely overlooked the fact that he is pitching 40mph... to girls. He plays in a co-ed league set up for beginners, not competitive play. Jericho is sandbagging in a league that is below his skill level. Put him in a competitive league and see if he makes the papers -- I strongly doubt it. His parents are the reason he feels sad that nobody can play now.

  • Okay, so why don't they move him up to a higher age group instead of just telling him that he can't pitch at all?

    It's "douche," by the way.

  • I'm all for it, the kid has a skill that should be nurtured in competitive play. Hopefully his parents will take this route.

  • maybe the great right wing organizers don't have a higher age group that his legal "age" will allow, or maybe it would be another league all together, too far away. Fuck blud, can't believe you've bought into the anti-liberal crap, because like cropper your too afraid to imagine that "it's just the world" at work not some secret liberal mindset.

I agree, the kid probably has talent and excels & the micro bureaucracy has problems. But pull your head out. bureaucracy doesn't equal liberalism

  • When did I say anything about liberalism?

  • Did we watch the same video here?
