He did the image illstrusation of 7 to X-2.
Although he wasn't a character design, he did do all Final Fantasy 7 to X-2.

hey!,actually he is not the character designer for ALL he final fantasy games he was the original one but the Tesuya Nomura took over designing the final fantasy 7,8,10,10(2),11(i think),12 and thirteen and all the kingdom hearts

Hmm, didn't know that. Although some sites say that Nomura started with FF10 instead of FF7. Still, Amano did and continues to do character art and prdouction design (including the title logos) for all Final Fantasy games, so he's definitely not retired from Final Fantasy and I guess there was some transition between 7 and 9.

If you see the credit of all the games he is signed as "character designer" and he did it from the 3 not the the 7.

@Fubunaga No he did 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 11. Than with the one's I missed he did the illustrations for them.

@mo389 True but in my view Yoshitaka, is a lot better then Tetsuya. I mean he's good still but his is just anime type of art nothing real special Yoshitaka was a true concept artist and should of remained the concept artist.

I'm not much of a FF fan, but that had to be surreal to get that. Was he seriously a character designer for all the games? Very cool.
